Trey Grayson attacked Rand on the issue because he knew it would be divisive. Trey new Paul either had to say one thing, and make the people of Kentucky very unhappy, or say another thing and cause problems in much of his national base.
Please read the two articles I've put together. This is definitely a very well orchestrated event by the Trey Grayson camp. And Rand, being a little green to the political process simply had trouble with handling it.

The DECLARATION
is what he supports. That's the way I'm looking at it. Just like his dad always talking about these non-declared wars. I don't think Rand supports the wars, but if we were to go to another war he'd want it declared in Congress just like pops.

I agree with you. I think it's good people are holding Rand's feet to the fire, but when the dust settles, this is a race for a GOP senatorial nomination between Rand and Grayson. With Rand having enough momentum to win. Spoiling it for Rand, really does mean handing it to Grayson
If we ruin this opportunity over one single non wisely chosen statement, I don't think too many serious and ambitious politicians will dare counting on our support again. And while that may well allow us to remain "pure", it also ensures we'll forever remain serfs to those less concerned about purity.

I have to admit, I got sucked into it a bit too....but tried to take the role of telling people to keep things in perspective and not feed off the hype....
I guess we have all watched too much TV "news" and are susceptible to emotionalism and sensationalism.....
