Must Read! Ron Paul Bears an Empty Pot for Americans
Submitted by Michael Nystrom on Thu, 12/06/2007 - 14:31Read it at News Long Island. You have to read the story to understand the meaning of the title. It is excellent
(Smithtown, N.Y.) Many contend that Ron Paul, although an honest, plain-talking man, comes to the 2008 presidential campaign podium without a lot of achievement. While in office, he hasn’t steer-headed proposed legislation into law, or galvanized broad-based support for this national agenda or that, or even been on board with most post-911 bills and actions. For almost twenty years, he’s been a dedicated representative for his Texas District and has not a potpourri of achievements about which to boast on the presidential campaign trail. Is this exactly true? How could someone serve for so long, and have so little to show for it?
At this time, I should share a story I heard from two entertainers at my son’s grade school. The entertainers were turning books from different parts of the world into short, little plays, in order to spark the children’s interest in reading. The following story took place centuries ago in the Far East.
The wise, old emperor was keenly aware that he was getting along in years, and he worried about finding a suitable replacement to lead the people. One day, he solicited the young people of his kingdom to gather, and he shocked them by telling them that he would be stepping down and that he would choose one of them to be his successor. “I am going to give each one of you a seed today, a very special seed. I want you to plant the seed, water it and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next emperor!”

I remember this
a blast from the past. Thanks, it helped me early on and it is still relevant.

Best Ron Paul Article I've Read
I've read hundreds, and this one is the best.
"The eye-popping reality of the situation is this. No longer can it be said that Ron Paul is running for President. Amazingly enough, his candidacy has been hijacked, and it appears now that the people are running for President. . . through Ron Paul! That’s the true revolution about which your neighbors are speaking."
Fantastic article.

Stories
Stories with morals at the end are always the best. Here's one of my own:
There once was a man who was the Duke of his area, let's call it Arkansas. He had good intentions, and thought he stood by his beliefs.
One day, it came time for a prisoner to be reviewed for release or further punishment. The prisoner was a very bad man, who had done unspeakable things to others. Unfortunately, the Sheriff who captured him did horrible things to the prisoner, and many felt pity for him.
Nobody knows exactly what happened, but the Duke for whatever reason allowed this man to be set free. Soon after, the prisoner had committed another crime, and it exposed the Duke's bad decision. The people were outraged, and the Duke only said that it wasn't his fault, that there was nothing he could have done to prevent it from happening.
The Duke would send other bad men to die, going against his own beliefs, but he let the worst go free. The people would never trust the Duke again, and he faded from memory.

OK, no real moral, except don't let rapists go free.

I think this is one that needs to penetrate to front page. The best part was:
"No longer can it be said that Ron Paul is running for President. Amazingly enough, his candidacy has been hijacked, and it appears now that the people are running for President. . . through Ron Paul! That’s the true revolution about which your neighbors are speaking."
He gets it.
Utterly insightful and briliant

FANTASTIC!
Omigosh, what an article! And in a "regular" newspaper also. I'll do my best to distribute this article far and wide (though I'd like to change the title).
We all owe Carl for telling it like it is, eloquently.
Title strikes negative chord
I have read several posts which comment on the negativity that the title of this wonderful piece resonates. I would argue that the negative pull in of the tone of the title is actually pure genious on the part of the author. Think of it this way, appealing to those of us who are already on the Paul bandwagon is all well and good, but it is just preaching to the choir and accomplishes very little for the cause.
The most effective way to use a mainstream outlet to reach undecideds, naysayers, or people who are unfamiliar with Dr. Paul is to get their attention grabbed by a flashy, controversial title such as this. The folks will start reading the story expecting maybe to find out some dirty little secret or other negative inuendo about the Dr. and, before they realize it, they're tearing up a bit and starting to understand the truth!
I think it is nothing less than pure genious!
