Landrieu Counter Bribe Money Bomb

0 votes

How about doing a money bomb for a counter bribe?

If we could get a large enough audience - FOX, AJ, as much of the MSM as would cover it - there is some serious fund raising potential here. You know - THE PEOPLE, instead of the lobbyists and Congressional leaders want to BUY her *NO* vote on final passage. If she accepts - fine, we make a donation to the LA state government. If not, it goes to whoever runs against her when she's up for re-election.

That would make great news copy and brings to light corruption in politics - which is the real issue here. Get people talking about politicians getting bought (generally with OUR money) and how the system doesn't represent WE THE PEOPLE! It would be unexpected and unprecedented so like the blimp - that earns news coverage.

I kinda feel bad about suggesting this as she's one of my fav congress critters. Very sharp - so much so that I often forget she has a D by her name and moderate to on our side often. She's also cute as a bug. Wish it hadn't been her. She did play her cards well for her state.

Anyway, it's good fodder for getting Congress back on track - should we run with it?

$300 Million Vote: Sen. Landrieu admits to being bought off

Sweeteners for the South
By Dana Milbank
Sunday, November 22, 2009

Staffers on Capitol Hill were calling it the Louisiana Purchase.

On the eve of Saturday's showdown in the Senate over health-care reform, Democratic leaders still hadn't secured the support of Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.), one of the 60 votes needed to keep the legislation alive. The wavering lawmaker was offered a sweetener: at least $100 million in extra federal money for her home state.

And so it came to pass that Landrieu walked onto the Senate floor midafternoon Saturday to announce her aye vote -- and to trumpet the financial "fix" she had arranged for Louisiana. "I am not going to be defensive," she declared. "And it's not a $100 million fix. It's a $300 million fix."

The Senate is morally bankrupt

Landrieu should be taken to jail. $100 million for Louisiana from WHO ?
There is NO MONEY, Hey Landrieu we're going to borrow another $100 million from the taxpayers (might as well be we're the cardholders) and shift it to your state to buy off another whoredog POS representative.

Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow

You know that we

are living in a complete state of Tyranny when one politician can buy off another politician with somebody else's money...and not even care!

Not counter bribe

An "If you vote for Constitutional Principles" Money Bomb. A perpetual money bomb, done quarterly that rewards candidates that fight for and help maintain Constitutional govt. It wouldn't take very long that it would completely dwarf illicit unsavory competition from corrupting at least insofar as election funds were concerned. Thereafter is another thing

Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow

I think you have a winner!

It would have to be written up real clever. Maybe, even expand it to other politicians.

btw: They aren't all

btw: They aren't all bad.

""My vote today," she (Landrieu) said in a soft Southern accent that masked the hard politics at play, "should in no way be construed by the supporters of this current framework as an indication of how I might vote as this debate comes to an end." Among the concessions she'll seek: more tax credits for small business and a removal of the version of the "public option" now in the bill. "

"She (Lincoln) argued, a bit too strenuously, that "I'm not thinking about my reelection" in 2010. All the same, she made clear that Democratic leaders would have to give more if they want her to vote yes as the health-care debate continues. Specifically, she demanded removal of the public option. "I am opposed to a new government-administered health-care plan," she warned, further cautioning that "I will not vote in favor of the proposal . . . as it is written." "
