I like the idea of Valentines Day for Ron Paul... he should have PLENTY of money for Super Teusday after Dec 16th and there are more primaries after that...
Each money bomb should be scheduled to be bigger and better than the last... perception of growing support is everything.

PEOPLE BOMB....January 08, sometime between New Years and Feb 5th "Super Tuesday" primaries. MARCH on Jefferson monument, Washington, D.C. (MLK birthday has been suggested). At that point, a FACE and NUMBER for the revolution is more important than MONEY (although a money drop COULD be incorporated). BE THERE....

I agree it would be better to start new events in January rather than December. Why not use names such as "Freedom for All" or "Liberty for USA" - anything that won't resonate violence. Just a thought.

IMHO
1. The term bomb really doesan't matter. If it did it actually would have caused real msm problems by now.
2. If you've maxed out. Congratulations and thank you. I hope to. I'll likely be able to donate again after 16th by new year's because of my "holiday bonus" at work. This seems like a great time to me.
3. There ought to be something catchy w/ a great website for new supporters that are coming to paul via the campaign, the grassroots efforts and the various media attn. getters that are upcoming i.e Teaparty/Blimp.
4. Nobody's trying to compete w Trevor. We're all trying to help Dr. Paul compete w/ the other candidates to get the nomination and then get him into Pennsylvania Ave.
5. If you can't give more, then there are others who can and a constant influx of new supporter's that weren't around on the 5th, etc..., and donated so much or have seen the many requests and fervant discussion.
6. Fundraising that breaks 1 day records is awesome. The media attention was fantastic and worth milions in publicity and air time and new opportunities for the campaign. But so was the 3rd qtr. total and that got way more attn. then he had gotten previously. The totals will get attn. too. Or starting a qtr. off really strong.
7. Media opportunities aside, fundraising is about funding the campaign. It needs a steady stream of cash to keep things going. If IA and NH go as well as we think and pray they will there will be entirely new states to focus on for Super Tuesday w/ less than a month. That means staff, TV, Radio etc.
8. The goal is quite modest for this "planned fundraising event" (never thought there'd be RP PC :) )
The website looks awesome. I just signed up.
Austin meetup letter writing to IA at 6pm tonight - Brave New Bookstore....Or sign waving on S. Congress for 1st Thursday... I'm trying to do both.

To all who are freaking out
To all who are freaking out about a new money bomb. This is not in place of the Tea Party. If you can not give more, fine. But there is nothing wrong with promoting money bombs for the future. The whole idea is for this campaign to grow. If you are looking at this as the same people giving over and over again, then you have a pretty low expectation of this campaign. If Ron Paul continues to rise in the polls and we have a huge day on Dec. 16th, the hope is that there will be enough attention to generate a whole new stream of support. This campaign needs to grow exponentially and even if you can't give anymore, why not get the word out to those who can or to newcomers. I would keep major promotion of it to a minimum until after the Tea Party, but there is nothing wrong with looking ahead. He can not win with the same people giving over and over again. This has to grow and it will.

That said, these money bomb things are actually starting to make me very very frustrated. I am maxing out on the 16th. You should introduce this after the 16th. Are we raising money for Paul or competing with Trevor? Good luck and don't take my comment the wrong way.

This will catch all of the new people who hear about Ron Paul from the Tea Party publicity. There will be a new group of supporters who will want to get in on the next big event.

Please stop using the term bomb, the MSM will use this to call us all terrorists or fringe conspiracy groups. Call it something other than a bomb, how about "money drop" or "money dump".

this will be one of our last moments to show our solidarity with the movement. Once the momentum starts it will be impossible to stop the giving. Do not underestimate the Power of united effort. The Tea Party will be Huge, and after Nov 5th I am no longer afraid of over-confidence. Yes, the bar is high, so be it, this is just one more motivating factor! if we hit $11 million for the quarter before the 16th, than I believe $20 million is within our sights. The media elites are decieving themselves that the 5th was just a fluke, a blip, an historical anecdote, but they will NOT be able to ignore us when our second effort Doubles our first!!!! In the same quarter, no less!! $20million will put us in the top fundraising position for the entire quarter, and this shock will not come at a better time. Now, I am an Athiest but the serindipity in this movement is awesome to behold.

I sent some money to the blimp because I think it would be a mistake to let it fail, but I agree that bomb after bomb after bomb equates to sabotage. Efforts should be focused. Scatter shot will look just like that... scatter shot. That's NOT the message we want to send.

Not all of the money bombs are to get media attention. I'm just saying that AFTER the tea party, we might as well not do anything til after the New Year... Meaning that I think January 1st would be better than December 31st. A few hundred thousand to get the New Year off to the right start would be better to me than a few hundred thousand on top of the already massively incredible Tea Party and 4th quarter results...

If anything, it should be a January 1st money bomb, to start the new quarter off on the right foot. Dec 16th will finish the quarter with amazing amounts of money, anything after that for the quarter, in my opinion, would be best held out to go towards the next quarter...

I like to hypothesize that a one time intense 12/16 money bomb that blows people's expectation away is more catchy to the MSM and the potential supporters at the fence for these reasons (I can't believe I am parroting DA's spill!):
- These significant money bombs are the only ones that attracts MSM attention; notice nov 30 $0.5M did not even get noticed?
- Nov 5 money bomb reputation still being mentioned > 1 month after, without the "terrorist" sting anymore, notice, inspite of Glenn Beck!?!?
- Fence people and others who needs to be tied in in the early primary state needs a couple of weeks at least to make up their mind and Dec 16 seems to be just well placed chonologically to serve this purpose--serrendipity?
For those who are thinking of just one more drop, do it on Dec 16, and even for those who really has some extra cash, put your heart into one gigantic explosion. What do you think?
