Get ready Boston for the Ron Paul ... blimp
By James Pindell December 6, 07 03:30 PM

From the department of "We Can't Make This Up"...

Some supporters of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul want to celebrate their "Ron Paul Revolution" by engaging in a major online fund-raising day on Dec. 16, the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. This comes of the heals of their most successful fund-raising day ever in early November where they pulled in $4.3 million.

While there will be no physical fund-raising event in Boston, supporters are trying to raise enough money to, get this, fly a blimp from New Jersey to Boston for the big day. To make this happen they figure they'll need to raise $200,000 by tomorrow night.

To accomplish that they have created a website at RonPaulBlimp.com and this ad below.

Hilarious. For dramatic

Hilarious.

For dramatic effect I think the Blimp should land and Dr. Paul emerge triumphantly to a fife and drum corps followed by a rousing recitation of a Founder's speech whilst everyone in attendance is drinking a mug of Sam Adams.

Support and Defend the Constitution!

My Phone just rang...

ya man, just donate 10 bucks

ya man, just donate 10 bucks if you are concerned about not contributing to ron pauls campaign. Im not getting ANY presents for christmas this year. I asked to have all money being spent on me from my family to be donated on dec 16th. So lets try and get this blimp up as well!!

Hey!

Me too! I just sent the email to friends and family:

To my friends and family using the "internet":

This year, I will not be asking for any Christmas gifts. Regardless of whether or not you planned to get me anything, I just want you to know they won't be necessary.

I am, however, asking you to read through this email thoroughly.

On December 16th, the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, the extensive grassroots organization for Presidential Candidate Ron Paul has organized a mass donation to his campaign in honor of the event that helped start the American Revolution. Over 26,000 people have pledged so far to donate $100 or more on this day alone. You may have seen our previous fundraiser in the news; on November 5th, over 39,000 people donated $4.3 million in 24 hours (18,000 had pledged beforehand), breaking the previous online political fundraising records.

The reason December 16th is so important is that it makes Ron Paul headline news and gives him a measurable lead on the other candidates. Ron Paul continues to be allocated to the "long shot" category by the mainstream media despite having better than top tier fundraising numbers and the most extensive grassroots campaign in history. Over 80,000 members in 1,300 meetup groups nationwide actively meet and organize Ron Paul support events. Ron Paul has raised more money this quarter than any other Republican running ($10.7 million since October) with over 117,000 new donors. The average donation is just over $100 (legal max is $2300, so the potential donation pool just from new donors is over $250,000,000). Ron Paul has won over 51% of the straw polls held across the nation. He's come in the top 3 in 80% of them. Polls have actually been canceled when it becomes obvious he is going to win. He has won all but a single Republican debate according to viewer polls. Ron Paul has received more money from active military members than ANY other candidate, Republican or Democrat. A lot more.

Dr. Paul is a 10-term Republican congressman who running on a platform dedicated to individual Liberty, low taxes, free markets, limited constitutional government, and a return to sound monetary policies. There's no better way to sum up his dedication to these principles than his impeccable 20 year record in Congress:

* He has never voted to raise taxes.
* He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
* He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
* He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
* He has never taken a government-paid junket
* He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
* He voted against the Patriot Act.
* He voted against regulating the Internet.
* He voted against the Iraq war.
* He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
* He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

When I swore into the Air Force , I swore to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic." A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for the Constitution and the Rule of Law, and I consider my support of him an integral part of fulfilling my Oath of Office.

So, what do I want for Christmas? I want those of my friends and family willing to fight for the Constitution to give their most generous donation to the Ron Paul campaign on December 16th. If you don't plan on voting for him, consider your donation a gesture of support for not only myself but all Americans currently serving in the armed forces. If you truly wish to support the troops, look at who the troops support!
