The Federal Reserve Vs. Ron Paul, article by Douglas A. McIntyre
Tonight, someone passed this article on to me and wondered what I thought about it. Having read through it, I felt that the author made a (poor) attempt at discrediting all the efforts to Audit the Fed.
However, there are many far more educated people here who know how to analyze an article and I would appreciate if you can do this after which I will refer the thread on to the person interested in learning more.
The Federal Reserve vs Ron Paul
There is a rumor that has been around Hollywood for decades that some of the greatest silent film comedy scripts were created by screen writers who would bribe wardens at a local insane asylum to allow a patient to sit in on their story meetings. Allegedly, some of the most hilarious moments in the history of comedic cinema came out of ideas from the minds of people who spent all of their time on locked wards. Even the craziest person in the world can give birth to an idea which is both brilliant and intelligible.
Ronald Ernest Paul, MD, is the member of the House of Representatives from the 14th Congressional District of Texas. He has run for President twice, the first time in 1988 as the candidate for the Libertarian Party. Paul is a man of many talents and has, over the course of his career, published newsletters about investing and the “Ron Paul Survival Report.” Paul is also a coin dealer who believes in home schooling. He is, in other words, a picture perfect member of Congress.

Despicable article
So he mentions the newsletters and a coin dealer (I didn't know that) but ignores the fact he was an OB GYN and a flight surgeon in the USAF?
His main argument is that the FED should be allowed to do secret things because the American people AND its Congressmen are to stupid to understand it and it would create a financial crisis? Nice logic. We should apply this logic to everything...keep everything secret. "Private" companies, churches, local and state and federal govt, etc. Anytime anyone ever asks a question, we'll just say, "Well, you are too stupid to understand and it would just be too scary so we don't have to let you know."
Defending the FED
Why do defenders of the FED continuously insult their opponents? Why do they constantly make arguments that would have been made by monarchists in the 18th or 19th centuries? Essentially those pro-monarchy arguments would be along similar lines - "Public is stupid, WE the all-knowing wise men will decide everything, and it is beyond the scope of the laborer, the housewife and the illiterate farmer to decide issues of public policy, national security etc., so democracy can never be a viable political system". Somehow, I see the same arrogance in pro-FED commentaries.
Federal Reserve
Isn't this article what might be said to be a Ad Hominem attack? The author starts the article by conflating mental illness with Paul's attempt to audit the Fed. Then he insults the entire population of the U.S., insisting we are to stupid to understand a complex financial fraud, and that we will panic like a herd of frightened sheep when we find out how bad we are getting robbed! The author is a complete traitor scumbag!
I don't care what he thinks. We have too much work to do.
The author is right except he used the wrong word to describe our ignorance. We the people (including congress) are ignorant, not stupid, as to the workings of the federal reserve and that is the reason Ron Paul is so valuable to us all. By no means is he ignorant of the damage the fed has done and why.
He has shaken us out of our sleep and now it is our responsibility to educate ourselves. If this is indeed, as it has been alleged, a government by the people then let's make it so.
