Having recently gone through some of this
I think it is disingenuous to say that all these kids are marxist, socialist, whatever. Many students have no real political bearings. I think we should be inspired that they even thought to protest at all. Bringing up fee increases at my school was of little interest to the average student. You couldn't even win let alone get any attention running for office with the promise of lowering fees by eliminating non-essential programs. Most people seemed to careless that they're education costs were rising when the government aid kept up with most costs mom and dad couldn't cover. That is the problem though. Unless you're paying out of pocket or you're international or out of state, you seldom see the increase in student education year over year. Some students have had their tuition and fees frozen so they don't have to think about at all. Yes the protests are somewhat misguided but so are tea parties and antiwar rallies. The point is they recognize something that is out of control and can't be maintained. I'm just happy that people are out there exposing themselves to the scrutiny of their peers. That's a huge leap. We need to be on the ground alongside them.

Exactly, most of these people
are RIPE for the picking and we want to get to them before the others who have evil intentions. It is time for these people to get the TRUTH for once in their lives. How do we reach them and I think comments on the videos help if we can give them names of books, web sites, Youtube videos. Maybe drop names of documentaries like "Freedom to Fascism" . Our time has arrived it is time to go to work. Time to sow the seeds that when the time comes these people will be wide awake and not be easily manipulated.

They received a 32% rate hike on the fees they need to pay, not the tuition, because from what I understand by CA law they aren't able to raise tuition.,

We need to be reaching these people
with books, information etc. Of course our YAL are more intelligent that is why they need to be out there and anyone else to help educate these people to the truth. We should also be making comments in the comment section of Youtube.

are these young people headed for internment? Is this spontaneous, or are they being 'encouraged' for a purpose.

I think they are not being very effective--
I am disturbed by the 'police' . . .
but I am not sure the students are being wise, but what do we expect? Haven't they been told that education is their nirvanah, and aren't they already indebted to the education monster?
