rhino: "END THE FED" coverage from the local left.
Submitted by obscure titles on Mon, 11/23/2009 - 19:35
This is a post from a very progressive blog in my area, Cincinnati. Chris Johnson also posts on the Cincinnati Beacon which is probably the local political blog that gets the most hits.
These guys are green left, third party left, and very popular in this part of the country. They are on the wrong side of some issues, but they have merit, a great deal of merit.
Chris went out of his way to cover the "End the Fed" Rally here in Cincinnati and did a pretty good job.
But ...
Can we at least RECOMMEND a dress code and SUGGEST the speakers stay on message?
Watch the video and see what you think.
Here is the youtube link.

Huge Bump
"Can we at least RECOMMEND a dress code and SUGGEST the speakers stay on message?"
Imagine everyone dressed in business casual, showered and shaved? The public would have a very different perception of this movement.
Dress code for protestors
Take a good look at the first half of this video.

It is OBVIOUS that a small group of well dressed, well organized, well prepared people have tons more credibility than a mob of slobs.
Why is there a credibility gap between groomed and the ungroomed?
Grooming takes discipline, preparation, INTENTION. People instinctively and intellectually respect that. It says we have the will and the skill to win. Tenacity and talent.
This may hurt some of your feelings, but the average person's emotional growth never evolves past their teen years...AND IT SHOWS IN THEIR DRESS.
In fact, children of wealthy people dress better than most adults. Some people call it class, but it is about making a power impression...and isn't that what protests are for?
bump for rhino's post. This is perceptive.

DRESS CODE
I've been harping about this for years.
I know many of you think that dressing like regular folk gives off the feeling that a protest is being done by 'the people'. Well, I hate to break it to you, but most of 'the people' dress like incompent, immature, boobs...aka, adult chidlren. Thus, they lack credibility.
I know you think "Well, it's better to have a thousand poorly dressed protestors than a hundred well dressed protestors", but I think you are wrong. Every day, small groups of well dressed people make more impact than any protest...every business meeting, every news cast. In fact, one nicely dressed reported with a little preparation can easily skew any protest. I've seen it over and over.
You see those that dress well typically are well prepared and well organized. They DEFINATELY have more credibility on an ethos and pathos level. And those levels count just as much as the logos (message) level.
Pretend like the protest is an interview...cuz you sure will be judged like you are in an interview.
MESSAGE
Obviously, if your outfit is well prepared, so too should your message. Signs should be concise and event-oriented...a little marketing flair is appropriate here. Since there is a chance that the media might stick a microphone in your face, rehearse a brief, event-oriented, message.
Again, think interview.
Concerning the woman with the "...African" sign. Clearly, she sees through the deception of the government, but then makes a racial comment.
As a Ron Paul supporter, I am disgusted by those that have underlying racial problems. I hate that white supremacists seem to love Ron Paul.
Whoever doesn't know this: Please know that the vast majority of Ron Paul supporters, 911 truthers, End the Fed folk, etc. are NOT racist.
If supremicists listened to Dr. Ron,
they wouldn't like him at all. Supremacists tend toward war, aggressiveness, and certainly don't have good will and respect for all individuals.
the few that pretend to support Ron only do so because they're against Obama and don't want his taxes.

I just can't bump this post this is total media BS !
" I will take REAL money and YOU
can have the change "
"Freedom is a right that can never be won in war, only by each individual "
I really hate to bump, but this really is important.
