Articles of Freedom
Articles of Freedom of Continental Congress 2009
November 21, 2009

In defense of a free people, the time has come to reassert our God-given natural rights and cast off tyranny.

Let the facts reveal - the Federal Government of the United States of America, which was instituted to protect the rights of individual citizens, instead - threatens our life, liberty and property through usurpations of the Constitution; and emboldened by our own lack of responsibility and due diligence in these matters, has exceeded its mandate, and abandoned those founding principles which have made our nation exceptional;

Our servant government has undertaken these unconstitutional actions in direct violation of their enumerated duties, to the detriment of the People's liberty and the sovereignty of our Republic;

Over many years and spanning multiple political administrations, the People who have, in good conscience, attempted to deliberate our grievances and voice our dissent against these offensive actions through both petition and assembly, have been maligned and ignored with contempt;

The people of the several States of Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming, justly alarmed at these arbitrary and unconstitutional actions, have elected, constituted and appointed delegates to meet, and sit in general Congress in the city of St. Charles, Illinois.

Whereupon these delegates, as duly elected representatives of the several States, have gathered in defense of divine justice, liberty and the principles of limited government, and we stand in clear recognition of the supreme law of the land - the Constitution of the United States of America.

Therefore, We demand that Government immediately re-establish Constitutional rule of law, lest the People be forced to do so themselves; and we hereby serve notice that in the defense of Freedom and Liberty there shall be NO COMPROMISE to which we shall ever yield.

* Civic Action
Delegates to Continental Congress 2009 and others from each of the several States shall serve this document titled, "Articles of Freedom," with its Remedial Instructions, on each United States Senator and Representative in their offices located in their respective States, placing them on notice that We the free People of America believe them to be in violation of their Oath of Office and the Constitution for the United States of America.

When a goodly number of millions of American people agree, we will therefore withdraw our financial support from the federal government, in a lawful and constitutional manner, and implement other responsible civic actions until all violations of the Constitution for the United States of America CEASE.
* Pledge
This is my Pledge:

Through the Creator as our witness, we hereby pledge our signatures to this end, in order to hold our elected and appointed officials accountable for all of their violations, with a reminder to our public officials that they have sworn an Oath (or Affirmation), to Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution for the United States of America.

We the undersigned renounce and condemn INITIATION of force and will pursue all lawful and Constitutional means to fulfill our duty.

I place my name as an Eternal Record of the Will Of The People to be Free.

That's a lot better than

That's a lot better than what I feared they were going to come up with. I'm actually pretty happy with about 95% of that. I'll sign it as soon as I finish packing for Camp FEMA.

I Just Subscribed

I just subscribed to receive email updates. I really like Michael Badnarik and the other sponsors sound like sincere defenders of the US Constitution and our liberties.

Sounds Good To Me.

Double Bump !

beesting

This is just what we need to restore our nation, states, and

individuals, under our moral, Constitutional law.

Thank you dearly someguy. At every opportunity I vow to explain this if I can, and/or just hand out my little cards with CC2009 website to get people on board.

For so many of us, since 9/11, incredulously, we have watched our own government taking full advantage of a crisis, summarily destroying our Rights, bill after illegal bill, egregiously violating our Constitution and negating our sovereignty, since then.

This does not 'exclude' all the historic violations as well.

Isn't it good enough to just

Isn't it good enough to just say "natural rights"?

Why do people feel the need to inject "God" into a document that is supposed to represent ALL patriots?

Isn't it just plain FAIR to leave religion out of government, so that people can just worship whatever they want in their own private lives?

This sort of thing just irritates me to no end...

Other than that it looks really good.

to wormwood,

"Why do people feel the need to inject "God" into a document that is supposed to represent ALL patriots?

Because only here in this unique country, America, that is from whom you received your un-alienable Rights, our Creator, unless of course you disagree vehemently and cannot abide it will be clear then that you would rather accept your 'rights' to come from imperfect, men's egos with greedy designs and whims?

G-d, Creator, who and whatever form or idea that may take. It is quite universal.

Our Rights were recognized from the 'celestial' realm NOT earthly realm.

Government has not right

Government has not right either promoting or discouraging the idea that "God" exists

Government simply has an obligation to recognize that human beings exist, and consequentially, that we exist with natural human rights.

Recognizing a "creator" is a way that government can accomplish this.

Defining said creator goes beyond the proper role of government.

I believe that "God" is not our creator, while you would clearly disagree with me.

The simple fact of the matter is that government has no right being involved with this debate.

It is a private issue.

Yeah, that's irritating.

Yeah, that's irritating. The Founders had no truck with such divisiveness. When the second Continental Congress was all bogged down in minutia, Ben Franklin (a deist), brought a motion that they say a prayer. He was voted down!

There's also the matter of "Whereupon these delegates, as duly elected representatives of the several States..." The States are legal entities that have official governing bodies. No one at that resort was elected or endorsed by a State legislature.

Most of all I wonder, is this it? What is the concrete purpose of this party? That has never been clear to me. In the engineering game, I learned never to call a meeting unless the work-product of that meeting was established beforehand. The meeting had to produce a document that specified specific actions and deliverables to be completed by given dates. Without the work-product, a meeting is just a gab-fest.

No, no one there was elected

No, no one there was elected or endorsed by the legislatures of the states, thank God. They were duly elected by The People and were there to represent The People and not the states. Our form of government places the power of government on The People's shoulders. The government only gets their power by what is given to them by The People. The whole point of the CC2009 was to take the power back by The People and to warn our government to step off because the consistently violate the Constitution.

The articles of freedom are far more extensive than what you see here, and they are also very specific to the violations of the Constitution. They are very strong in their language and spell it right out to the Congress and the States that The People have said enough. I'm sure you'll be pleased when you see the final product put together.

The CC2009, according to information given to me by a delegate, has given our government 40 days to respond to their instructions to cease and desist all unconstitutional behavior. The civic action plan is meant to force them to do so if they don't voluntarily stop after the warning.

Personally, I think the civic action plan could have been much stronger, but that's a different story altogether.

All I am saying is that the

All I am saying is that the statement is not true. IANAL, but conceivably someone who signed that could get in trouble for claiming to be State representative. And for what purpose? Is the cause of Liberty furthered by claiming to be representatives of the States?

I'm not sure why you think

I'm not sure why you think they'd get in trouble for being a representative. They were Constitutionally elected by The People. The Congress itself was run according to Parliamentary rules and acted as an official Constitutionally endorsed Congress of The People. The fact is, that this Congress was held exactly as it should be in order to make it a De Jure goverment. Since our government is a corrupt private corporation, technically that means that the true Constitutional American Government has been sitting vacant since the mid 1800s. Think about it. When was the last time you heard of the American public electing directors for a corporation? You can't because its a business. And that of course just goes to prove what a sham our elections really are.
