My ThanksgivingSubmitted by BMWJIM on Wed, 11/25/2009 - 20:04
It's 6:00 pm and the wife is still working. She left at 4:00 am. This has been going on 7 days a week for 3 1/2 weeks, although she may get home tonight before 11:00 pm. This is my hope. The turkey is already defrosting and the onions, garlic and herbs are ready.
We will get up about 6 in the morning to start preparing. This will be a good day for Andrew (my son) and Heather (my daughter) and Kris(future son-in-law) will be coming for dinner. This is such a wonderful time.
Dinner will be absolutely perfect. The joy I get from this cannot be compared to anything. It is not the effort but the feeling of being one with my children and my wife. We will know that at least on this day we are one with each other. I relish the day they all understand where I am coming from and cherish what I have learned from each of my Daily Paul family members.
Once dinner is complete then comes the preparing for deer season. I am hoping that this year Sue comes with me to the woods. Maybe we can sit together and hold hands and watch the beautiful surroundings. To bag a deer would be great for that would help the freezer but this day is about sharing time with my wife that we do not get much of.
This Thanksgiving I hope each of you enjoy the pure soul of this land and its majesty. Every moment is special. Do not waste a second. For every one is special. God bless each and every one of you and may your holiday season bring you closer to what you seek.
On a selfish note, let's hope I bag a nice buck.
