Kopbusters update: Yolanda Madden appealing for release

Deep in the heart of Texas, was an attack on liberty, stolen by those who are sworn to protect and serve it. What then happened in open court even exceeded the corruption done by the police. How we all wish this was an isolated case, but thanks to the intervention of Barry Cooper and his Kopbusters team, the tables are beginning to turn for Yolanda Madden, and perhaps for many other by it.

For those unaware of this nearly 4 1/2 yr/old travesty of justice, here is the video telling how Yolanda Madden got to be where she is now.

Taken from the info included with the video updated 11/25/09:

"Yolanda Madden was arrested and convicted of federal drug charges in 2005, but their family says the drugs were planted and they've got the evidence to prove it.

Today, they got the chance to present some of that at an evidentiary hearing at the Federal Court in Midland.

Last year, Kop Busters' Barry Cooper set out to show that the Odessa Police Department obtains search warrants illegally, but he also wanted to raise publicity for what Yolanda Madden's family says is a wrongful conviction."...

"She testified today, along with two of the police officers, whom the family says intentionally framed Yolanda for her possession charges. But the judge made it clear that the purpose of today's hearing was only to take a second look at evidence that could have changed the outcome of the original trial."...

"They presented some of the forms from the booking phase of Yolanda's arrest, which they say were tampered with, and shouldn't hold up in the court of law.

'If we would have had some information that we didn't have at that time, and there was a lot of information that we did not get from the prosecution. If we would have had that information, would that trial have been different? The answer today is that it would have absolutely been different,' Madden said.

There was no ruling made in the hearing today.

The judge asked the defense attorneys to submit a closing brief by next Friday, and the government representation to present theirs a week later.

From there, the judge will decide whether or not the evidence is strong enough to warrant a re-trial for Yolanda Madden."

Junell made comments in the court about this being in the paper, on the internet and the news stations. So yes it needs to stay high profile if all possible. People need to sign up online at the Odessa American and click on recommend to keep the story going local also. And please leave comments.

Would you post a link to the Odessa American so those of us who want to follow your suggestion would be able to find it more simply?

This could have a powerful and persuasive impact on the judge in doing the right thing, and may also have a chilling affect on those predatory perps in uniform that are still prowling the streets of Odessa.

Perhaps good cops might even become bold enough to blow the whistle on the krooked kops among them who drag their good name down. The thin blue line is difficult enough to keep safely, without these korrupt kops mucking up the public trust of them all.

Wouldn't it be awesome if, along with Yolandas' freedom, came a renewed sense of accountability by these public servants, in all branches of government, to those whom have sworn to protect and serve?

Yes, this Judge is a classic. He forced a bench trial by denying a continuance after lawyer was fired for conflict of interest. The kops best friend! He actually found the informant credible for the prosecution to allow evidence but found the informant not credible for the defence when he testify kops forced him to plant drugs. Think jury might have reasonable doubt? Judge didn't. Actually he had no reasonable anything!

To this day I have not seen a federal judge that isnt corrupt. And the juries are as stupid as they come. People, the power to stop these criminals is in the jury

But once Sampson tried to question Lane about what actions were taken with Madden’s juvenile daughter following Madden’s arrest, Junell stopped questioning.

“The issue is not whether Ms. Madden is guilty or not guilty,” Junell told Sampson. “The sole issue today is whether the government should have produced that document.”

At anytime in the last 4 1/2 yrs this Judge could have done the right thing in the Madden case.
I believe the issue is about her innocence.

Was this appeal filed that long ago? I'm just trying to understand the apparent delay here.

I understand that the judges' focus, procedurally, is just about the document, but did it really take this long to get around to?

2255 Hearing

After Mr. Cooper did the sting in Odessa is when Ms. Madden was awarded a 2255 Hearing. Each appeal that has been in front of Junell has been denied until this point.

The judge seems responsive to public scrutiny. How can we keep this in the news?

This TV news coverage was much better than in the past. Barrys' true intent for the KopBusters sting, drawing attention to Yolandas' false imprisonment, was covered better in this video than previous newscasts.

Short of another sting, what can we do to help shine the spotlight on this?

Odessa cops have rustled a fine, upstanding citizen and the court has cover their stinkin' butts.

Will you be next? Maybe! The answer is up to you.

Freeing Yolanda and sending this corruption where it belongs is the cowboy way.

This is really about waking all Americans, even others around the world, to Yolandas' plight, and how that by taking decisive, local action, we may impact others beyond our boundaries, more than we might think.

If this could happen to her, what makes would make any of us think that it couldn't happen to us, or our loved ones?

The War on Drugs often has its domestic "collateral damage", but what appears here is more diabolical, than accidental.

...and this case is a highly visible example, hopefully to the point where the blind in our country begin to see again. Barry Cooper is a damn decent man for what he's doing for this family and for the ideals of liberty for our entire country. I sure hope that turd of a Judge pulls his head out of his ass and does his job the way he's supposed to. I wish nothing but goodwill and luck for Yolanda and her very tired, emotionally-drained family and friends.

Barry is a good guy that has worked very hard to help her. Check out the KopBusters clips available on the website. It would be awesome if we could get this aired as a regular series (he is working on it).

This is a reality show that we actually NEED. Instead of mindless drivel being fed to us, it would be a check on corruption that this country in such a great need of.

Thanks to Mr. Cooper and his team of Kopbusters, Ms. Madden was awarded a 2255 Hearing. She is now waiting for Junell's decision on a new trial.

KopBusters should be on Tru TV

I agree that this kind of reality show is crucially needed. It could serve as a fair and balanced response to Americas' Most Wanted and Cops. I believe it would even be welcomed by good cops as a way to redeem public trust in a branch of government that has too often seen corruption like this make their conscientious service more difficult.

Tru TV, formerly Court TV, would be the perfect place to launch KopBusters. Jesse Venturas' new show, "Conspiracy Theory" is to be released there next Wednesday. This would be the perfect following program!

BTW Jesse is talking about "CT" on the Alex Jones show today (11/27) during the first hour, (I'm listening to them as I type this). It will no doubt be post at "The Alex Jones Channel", on YouTube later today. Conspiracy Theory will no doubt be a mind blower. KopBusters needs to be up there soon!

Which is why we need to get KopBusters working overtime and get every cop worried he is being "stung". Put the fear of being caught back into it for 'em.

He actually recently caught a cop on a felony as well (stealing and tampering with evidence)!...
