Free flight ticket to New Hampshire
Submitted by michaelk3 on Thu, 12/06/2007 - 22:30I have 3 roundtrip vouchers for Southwest, that could be used to fly 6 people one way to Manchester NH.
I basically want to donate those to whoever wants to get there for free, and return ticket should be cheap as it is one month away.
Hopefully this will help to bring some more people to NH, who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it.
I am sure there are many other people who have similar vouchers from Southwest or other airlines and might join me in helping more people to get to NH..
Can somebody setup a “clearing house” for people to offer such help and others to request them, to make the whole process easier…

Travel to NH and Iowa
One thing I've wondered about regarding travelling to NH or Iowa as a volunteer, with vouchers and/or donated miles from others: Being that we are coming into the Holiday season, aren't there going to be a slew of blacked-out dates for the use of such perks, even taking into account the short period before they would be used? My understanding (which is far from comprehensive) is that these kinds of arrangements usually need to be made many months in advance.
Being up in Alaska, driving is not a very timely (nor practical) option!

I have a lot of free time in late December/early January (self-employed, but not busy at that time), and could offer my time if not too much cash to the campaign, and would like to go as well. Hey my hubby who is outta work ( lost his job of 9 yrs for putting up a RP bumper sticker on his toolbox ) He said he would LOVE to go!! He was worried about not being able to do much for RP as finances are tight right now. Where would/could he stay? It wouldnt have to be much as long as he has a place to get in out of the cold. After you get the airline ticket nailed down, how about elaborating on the Hubby getting fired for the RP sticker?

How could they fire for him for that? What was his line of work?
He Worked in
Die Cast at Briggs & Stratton. They said he was fired because he was one minute late six months ago. He put a RP bumper sticker on his toolbox three days before they told him he was fired, during that time he was harrassed by several higher ups and people on the day shift. They were leaving nasty notes taped to his toolbox, saying you better vote Dem! ( he didnt think much of it at the time ) He was well respected and one of the best workers they had in the back. He could operate all of the machinery and was the best forklift driver they had. It wasnt about putting something on his toolbox as some of the fellas in the back ( 99% male ) have nude calenders up. It was the bumper sticker. Alot of his friends came up front for him, but it didnt save him.
