Free Bumper Sticker Update
Submitted by readyja on Thu, 12/06/2007 - 23:36Hi All - I know many of you are aware of my free bumper sticker campaign, which today celebrates it's 5 month anniversary. With the most recent batch of stickers in the mail, we've surpassed 3000 bumper stickers sent out.
Of course, when I say 'we', what I really mean is 'my wife and I'. You can believe me when I tell you that handling 3,000 envelopes, 3,000 stamps, 3,000 address labels, etc. is a whole lot of three-thousands which adds up to a whole lot of work and touches, not to mention paper cuts.
While this isn't as cutting-edge-cool as sponsoring a blimp, or ultra one-to-one like marching around New Hampshire going door-to-door, this is, yet another example, of what one guy can do to create more exposure for Ron Paul.
I don't know how many people see the average bumper sticker, but if it's 50, or 100, or more, then multiply that times 3000 and you've got a whole of of eyeballs looking at Ron Paul's name.
But I'm not trying to pat myself on the back. I'd actually like to ask, those of you that can, to kick a buck or two my way to help keep this thing going.
It costs about $1 a piece to get these things out the door, and donations from people requesting stickers have covered about 65% of the cost. Not only is it a lot of work, but it's also getting expensive.
So if you can give a couple bucks, you can find my site here, which has a paypal donation link. If you can't, then please help spread the word, to increase exposure. I'm planning on keeping the site running as long as I can.
Thanks everyone -

Hey Jeff, I posted your web
Hey Jeff,
I posted your web site to 4800 MySpace friends. Hope you don't mind ;)
For $20 you can

Why would you post this in a
Why would you post this in a thread that has nothing to do with what you posted? It's disrespectful to Jeff.
Jeff, I've sent out decals before, a few hundred, not thousands. Yeah, it gets tiresome.
Thank you for your work!!!
Thanks for the kind words
I appreciate it!
Jeff
phoney scam
You never sent a bumper sticker to me. It was requested weeks ago.
All, read the website carefully. He doesn't promise to send anything.
for what it's worth...
I didn't get one either and I registered at least a month ago. I got one from the campaign directly which was fast and I ordered 20 of them and sent them to all my relatives in christmas cards.. how nice of me.

If your request was in the last month
It probably just got sent within the last week or so. Assuming, as I said before, you agreed to all the terms of getting a free one.
Jeff
Scam? <sigh>
If you email me (either through the site, or at jeff(dot)ready(at)gmail(dot)com) I would be happy to see why you didn't get your sticker. Without having any idea who you are, if I had to go out on a limb, it would be because you didn't agree to all the terms of getting a sticker, which are plainly spelled out on the website.
Most of the time if a request gets rejected, that's the reason, and it's happened probably 500 times. It's also possible that you made a request that hasn't been processed yet (I could look that up too), gave incomplete address information, or the postman returned your sticker after it actually got sent.
But really, I have been busting my butt and spending good money to get this stickers out. I've been interviewed on on talk radio, I've had the project cited by dozens, maybe hundreds of blogs, newspapers, comments, and forums. And lord knows the guy over at RonPaulStickers.com and certainly enjoyed my purchases. There are pictures on the website of people that received their stickers. There are people on *this* site that have received stickers. Heck, there are videos on YouTube of people SHOWING the free stickers they received!
So really, please just ask if you have a problem, before you go around accusing me of being some sort of charlatan. It has been a tremendous amount of work to do this, and in one fell swoop you've really offended me by calling it a scam. Ugh.
I did agree...
"You are giving money to me personally, not to the Ron Paul Presidential Campaign. I will likely use this money to run this campaign, but maybe not. I am not obligated to spend the money in any particular way, and I am not a political action committee."
At any rate, I ordered stickers from elsewhere and have plastered my area with them and vertical signs.
Thank you
Thank you for your important work. All of us appreciate it; the Constitution does too. Having spent years as a volunteer, sometimes; often times, our work goes unnoticed, unpraised and unthanked considering the long hours we put in. Sometimes, well meaning people, who do not understand what we have done, jump the gun. Perhaps, on your website, you might add something like, "If you have not received your bumper sticker within .... days, please call us at....., or email us at.....
Thanks again for a job well done.
Thank you.
Thank you.
