Well people, its nice to see they're popping up like mushrooms from all over the States! Let's make sure they're good and potent "shrooms" ;) and throw our support if we can!

Joe Kennedy -

"To preempt any potential confusion caused by my name, I claim no relation to the family or relatives of President John F. Kennedy."

From his website:

"First, I believe the answer to the majority of our internal problems is a commitment to a free-market economy. Free-markets breed innovations and stimulate all sectors. I also believe we as a country must be dedicated to the personal freedoms and civil liberties our nation was founded upon.

On foreign-policy, I believe we must promote free trade and peace. For years we have consistently intervened in foreign affairs that have damaged our reputation, increased our deficit and put the lives of American men and women in harms way. As a country we must pick our battles much more selectively."

Remember Eddie Murphy's congress movie, The Distinguished Gentelman? A sitting congressman named Jeff Johnson died, so Murphy changes his name to Jeff Johnson, using the belated rep's signs, logos, etc... and he wins. Here in MA, the name Joe Kennedy (former rep, always rumored to be running for Gov or Senate but never running) is so huge, I swear this guy would get 50,000 votes on his name alone.

This guy is missing the opportunity of a lifetime. By distancing himself from the name he is losing out on a lot of free publicity. Why would he ever do that? I have always said that all you need is the last name of Kennedy here in MA to get elected to anything. He needs a billboard on the side of 93 "Joe Kennedy independent for US Senate" no picture, just a big American flag or something of that nature. Think of the press coverage.
