Politico: Ron Paul Gains Mainstream Steam!
By Victoria McGrane | 11/30/09
Politico
Is libertarian rock star and Texas Republican Ron Paul going mainstream?
He’s got everyone from South Carolina Republican Sen. Jim DeMint to Minnesota moderate Democrat Collin Peterson to California liberal Barbara Boxer on his side in his audit-the-Fed crusade. He’s drawing liberal support in his push to rein in the cost of the war in Afghanistan. Senate candidates like Democratic Rep. Paul Hodes of New Hampshire are finding Dr. No’s populist economic anger to be useful in the campaign, echoing Paul’s criticism of the Federal Reserve.
Even Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) is delivering backhanded compliments, taking credit for merely allowing a vote on Paul’s amendment to audit the central bank.

Uplifting. I Dugg it.
Uplifting. I Dugg it.
The first 5 million supporters of Dr. Paul are 'early adopters.' The next 10 million will require a modified approach.
I think education of the masses is one of Dr. Paul's goals.

When the writer at Politico writes this below, it shows Dr. Paul has a long way to go:
snip: "To be sure, Paul’s bill to abolish the personal income tax or to end the United States’ membership in the United Nations still puts him well outside the mainstream."{end snip}
How about Politico doing some research before chastising Dr. Paul.
1.To abolish the extremely unpopular personal income tax would put more money into local communities all across the nation, and help a grassroots recovery really get started in this time of high unemployment/recession.
2. If the Politico writer would read the Constitution, he would see that:
Article I
Section 10
{paraphrased very slightly} The USA shall "NOT" enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation,,,etc. etc.
Why?
Because the USA has declared itself a sovereign nation and alliances with international groups, such as the U.N., that can dictate anything contrary to the U.S. Constitution, takes away sovereignty.

It's good that now when one of the talking heads
says something derogatory about RP he/she can be made to look stupid.
We're getting a gasoline/diesel coop together. If anyone here thinks they might like to participate let me know. I'd put a link here for the website but they don't work. Email me at riceowlex@yahoo.com
1/2 price gasoline/diesel with rebates
I had one of these about three years back and sold it, wish I hadn't. Fuel is getting more and more expensive.

Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow
Populist anger
I loved this line:
"Senate candidates like Democratic Rep. Paul Hodes of New Hampshire are finding Dr. No’s populist economic anger to be useful in the campaign, echoing Paul’s criticism of the Federal Reserve."
I'm sure Dr. Paul would find it funny to see his lifelong crusade characterized as "populist" all of a sudden. Oh, that public opinion and its crazy mood swings..
