Prosectuting GW Bush is the BEST thing we could do for America
Should this be our focus?
I think it is a great focus and would be the best thing for Amerika to return to being America once again.
I like think we should strike FEAR in Obama's heart, someone who would NOT rule out using nukes during the debates.
The question to me is ...why raise money? Let the film go viral and let it go...
If its a question reimbursing the producers, then they should put a price tag on it... and then let it go viral and free... let the people of all stripes push this film, push for this prosecution. Selling tickets to it is -- weird.
If any film should be made free and go viral, it should be this documentary.

Open-Source Justice! A precident for citizen "check" on power!
What an interesting approach! Since he has laid out the logic and evidence of the case, anyone who lost a son, daughter, husband or wife in Iraq can lobby their state attorney general, or any county district attorney, to press the charges. The same case and charges could happen 4000 times, in 4000 different counties, each time setting a new precident and refining the case. This would set a (new?) precident for holding any and all public officials accountable.
This is an awesome Do-It-Yourself citizen check on power! By publishing the case logic and evidence, the author protects himself, as prosecution is not dependent on him anymore. Anyone can do it at any time.

Whenever I hear town hall/tea party/"patriot-types" say we need to stand for our democracy it makes my heart sink. I do agree with not allowing anyone to be above the law.

the people are NOT guilty. The people were lied to. That is the crime that was committed. Bush and his cronies knew there were no WMD. Bush and his cronies sold a lie. Bush and his cronies are guilty of lying about the reason we went to Iraq. Guilty...many hundreds of people.
That should not be our focus, should it?
It cannot be murder for the President, when it's congress who declares war.
And congress would not have done it without the support of the American people, which they had. This was a collective effort of fail. And it's silly to try to pin it on one man, instead we should be using this as a lesson in how we (as a country) must not let emotion and fear guide us into any further disasters. That's the lesson from Iraq. But not this junk.
The real failure here is the idea that apparently now we all think that one man can take us to war. No, that job belongs to congress, all of which is derived from the people.
We gave them the approval to prosecute this war on our behalf. And don't kid yourself about the "weapons of mass destruction". Many conservatives didn't care about them. Rush Limbaugh himself said as much on air. Yes, WE are as much to blame as they are. At least that's my opinion.

Congress did not declare war.
They turned complete responsibility over to the president and he ran with it. The congress should be ousted and tried for their individual crimes against the Republic.

If I authorize someone to kill my lover on my behalf, we're both guilty. If I authorize my government to go to war and kill innocent civilians on my behalf, I'm not guilty?
It's not just the politicians. It's the people, too.

If you charge G W Bush, then you would have to charge, quite possibly, all the politicians that supported the war. Then you'd would open up the door to pretty much every living president who killed an innocent civilian on his watch without a declaration of war. So this would be pretty much every president that is currently alive and his cabinet. Then this opens it up to the military being tried and its commanders. Even people like Colin Powell and Condi Rice, they would be just as guilty. Then we have to go after the current president because he has not ended this war but continued it and increased the force.
Also, I bet that once this door opens you could probably start to prosecute some oil/gas corporations and other corporations that have benefitted from the wars.
You really can not pinpoint everything on one guy, every president has an administration and advisers. Sure the president should take the fall but he is not all at fault. I do not have a problem with this at all, get all the crazy politicians out of washington.
Interesting how the Iraq people had the guts
to take care of their abhorrent leader and we are arguing about how difficult it is. I guess Mussolini's people also had this debate on wether to prosecute a war criminal.

I think it's the LIES that they told
to convince congress and the american public to go to war.
Congress voted on the information that was presented.
All wars are based on lies,
including the ones the US is in right now; every day of war adds more lies.
That's a noble cause. But it should
be expanded to include all living presidents who waged wars of aggression.
And even before that, the most urgent cause is stopping the wars going on now, every bit as unprovoked as the war in Iraq.

and Bush had many "helpers" that enabled him to sell the lie. So, there are many hundreds of people that would also be charged if Bush were found guilty. Of course, none of this will ever happen....sadly. I expect Mr. Bugliosi will be visited by some of Poppy Bush's old friends at the CIA. Mr. Bugliosi may be coming down with some rare and deadly virus. Unfortunately. God bless him for trying.

Bugliosi is absolutely brilliant. I listened to his case against OJ Simpson and was blown away- I even made my friends listen to it because I had almost never heard anyone speaking who is that advanced with critical thinking and logic.
I own this book but haven't read it yet. I heard that a copy of it was sent to every lawyer in the United States, compliments of a very rich man who believes the case should be tried.
I loved seeing a member of Iraq Veterans Against the War represented here.
Just a few problems:
1) Bugliosi is not a truther (yet) and therefore seems to ignore the issue of Afghanistan (that's the impression I get from the trailer.)
2) He mentioned the death count of 100,000 but that seems remarkably low.
At any rate, I'm thrilled this movie was made. I hope everyone knows Bugliosi put Charles Manson behind bars...maybe some of the young members don't know his original claim to fame.

as far as the number he mentioned, i don't know what it is but even tho
that number is inexcusable in itself - i bet it is quite a bit higher. i think i
