For a true revolution our cause must be deep in us.Submitted by scottythesaint on Tue, 12/01/2009 - 01:24
This video was my introduction to Ron Paul. I remember even the chills I got watching it some weeks before the 2008 Presidential election. I had never heard in my life-time the words “free-market”, “small government”, and “non-interventionism”. I did hear, though, the word “revolutionary” or “revolution” and that was what probably took me to the video. For in that time I was a passionate reader of communist or leftist leaders and heroes. From Marx to Castro, Che Guevara was my idol. He still is although I don’t currently agree with his beliefs for a society, but I understand them like I understand the millions across the world who believe in them. Those beliefs weren’t what were important about him anyway. He was like Ron Paul. He was consistent. He fought for what he believed in. He was a doctor. Please don’t begin dramas about my admiral of Che Guevara.
Today my readings will probably come out of some newsletter from mises.org or the posts here on Daily Paul. I hope to begin serious reading from the famous Austrian Economists Mises, Rothbard, Hayek, etc. I am a 21 year old student and in this last year I have learned much of economics and free-markets mostly from the Daily Paul and other related sources.
Tomorrow it seems the President will dispatch another 30,000 soldiers to the war in Afghanistan. I feel a deep regret for my vote in this man, but mostly I feel a huge compassion for the disappointment this man will be for the millions who truly believed in him. In the summer before the election when I was in Portugal and throughout Europe I saw so many poor people with his t-shirt and his name somewhere. They know nothing of politics or economics but they felt a harmony with him. I can only imagine in Africa. When it truly becomes globally visible of Mr. Obama’s deceit it will be a sad day for this planet and its people. I then read he is allowing military bases to be manned in Colombia. Danger arising with Iran, it just seems like 2012 might actually happen. If I were to relate to symbolism I would think Obama’s presidency really means something deadly for the world.
What are the true solutions? What will truly happen? In the past there were either complete breakdowns in the empires or serious revolutions. Will there be an end to the United States of America? Won’t that bring an end to many things in the world as well? Is this reality? Or will some amazing revolution change the whole system? And is this also realistic (especially in a country with 300 million people with the most diverse ways of thinking and rationalizing)?
This is why I respect Che Guevara. He might not have the best solutions for society, but he fought for 4 countries that were not his own, and it was always against the Imperialism, the NOW, the corporations, whatever you want to call it. We do not have to fight with arms and violence like he had to, but we have to fight passionately and consistently. Hasta la siempre Che and let’s do this Ron Paul’s Revolution.
If there are Florida supporters who wish to organize any type of actions, events, or meetings I encourage you to contact me and let us start doing our part. I hear nothing being done in this state.
