Guess who's not invited to the Southern Republican Leadership Conference

Let's see, Limbaugh, Hannity, Palin, Huckabee, Romney, Schwarzenegger, Gingrich, Jindal, etc. -- all the usual suspects -- are on the speakers list. Even washed up actor Chuck Norris is on the list! (?)

I'll give you one guess as to who's not invited.

Guess whos' name is now, silently, no longer on the list?

Backtracking my account, I came across this thread with a bunch of activity that I hadn't read up on. I went in and started to get caught up when I began to wonder if there had been any changes to the speakers list.

Sure enough, Chuck Norris is no longer there and there's no notice why!

Wouldn't it be interesting to know what happened behind the scenes on this change of plans?

Can you imagine what would happen if Norris and Dr. Paul showed up there unannounced? I know, I know, that's not Dr.Pauls' style, but you have to admit, the thought makes you smile.

Better yet, what if we held a simultaneous C4L Rally nearby, for a taste of deja vu' with their gumbo.

Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them. - Frederick Douglass

Well, Mitt guess what

it seems as if you stand totally alone among the GOP congressmen and women in your not calling for an audit of the Fed. Hmmm, someone seems to be an isolationist...and you want to campaign for some of them in 2010?
Newsflash: Ron Paul is mainstream and Bernanke has gone beserk. It seems like you want to follow Bernanke in his path!
You have clearly NO idea about monetary issues, while you may know something about microeconomics, and macroeconomics is really the issue of the day now.
Also, you support of the bailouts will not earn you any vote and a dime with All of the tea party supporters and more.

75% of Americans are in favor of auditing the Fed. Just with this single issue alone Ron Paul can appeal to 75% (and 75% plus will also be against the Iraq AND Future Afghanistan war, by 2011/2012 in any case) and on these two main issues Ron Paul can make clean house for the GOP in 2012, as president as well as in senate and congress. Good, there are still some Bush Republicans, but Independents are 39% plus now and growing and you will make NO appeal to them.

Everyone still dancing to

Everyone still dancing to 'their' tunes instead of calling our own tune?

A new convention should be convened. Call it "Conservative Republican Party Leadership Conference" where the neo-nwo-con artists need not apply.

We have the people-power to create the movement we want in this country. Split it down the middle and take the biggest piece. That would be us of course. Give The People a real choice for real change.

will continue to humiliate Ron Paul and marginalize him within the party. They will infuriate Ron Paul supporters and get them to waste all their time and money trying to get the GOP to play with Ron Paul. After that the GOP will have a laugh and elect who they want. Our message will be contaminated with neocon/religious right nonsense and we will watch millions of Independents avoid the hypocrisy of the GOP and create their own party. This is a guarantee.

Sad speaker list.

Just a gang of fools. They're afraid that Ron Paul may educate the audience on what a conservative really is.

I would call anyone who can get over 300 co-sponsers on a bill a "Leader" Is arny going to give a lecture on fiscal policy?

The so-called "real"

The so-called "real" Republican Party membership is shrinking. Hopefully Ron Paul will refuse any invitation to speak before that bunch of war mongers. They are fast becoming irrelevant. I predict those clowns will feel the wrath of the American people before all is said and done. Most folks are tired of the never-ending wars. When the dollar collapses that should be the final straw. I for one will never forget the way they have treated Ron Paul and the Ron Paul Republicans. They deserve no mercy.

Yes indeed

A refusal from Ron Paul because of who he would have to share the stage with is very much in line with his past dealings with the neo-con sector of the re-fak-lican party. I think it would make Dr. Paul's skin crawl to be in the same room as all those neo-con scum anyway.

Hello folks....

Let's start hitting their "Blog" section and leaving comments letting the true republicans know that we're here and not going anywhere, even when they try to mold the party right back to neoconservative-land...

There's a "Comments (0)" link on the top of every blog post on the top right, time to comment.

Well, Im not worried about not inviting Ron Paul as much....

Im not so worried about them not inviting Ron Paul as much as I am embarrased they didnt invite Gary Johnson!!! Gary Johnson had the most fiscally conservative, postive growth, most freedom and positive popularity than any governer in history! Obviously, Ron Paul wouldnt be invited because, as you can see, these are for governers. Ron Paul, Jim DeMint, John McCain, Tom Coburn.. None of them invited, so my feelings arent too hurt, guys. My feelings are more hurt by some of these nobody governers being invited when the best governer was not invited. Now thats a tragedy!

Ron Paul 2012

Ron Paul 2012

Does anyone see the disconnect here

These Governors all talk conservative on the state level, many may have a conservative record on the state level, minus the talking heads listed. But our problem is not at the state level. It's at the federal level.

Nothing I see from these people convince me to expect any change in DC. That's probably why GJ wasn't invited. Somebody like that might have enough principle to extend his state record on to the national level, same for RP, post fact o. Apparently, it's OK to talk conservative and act conservative but don't you dare vote conservative once you reach the bigs.

Miamisburg, Montgomery County, Ohio

I agree that everyone on that list "talks" conservative

and are all surely part of the DC establishment. But none of them even fake the walk. So perhaps you gave them too much credit. ;-) I know you were just trying to make a balanced statement.

Let me run down the list, cause it'll be fun:

Rick "Nafta Super Highway" Perry? The same guy that tried to push through a scheme to mandate schoolgirls to be vaccinated for STDs?

Sarah "Bush Doctrine" Palin, the governor of a state that ranks DEAD LAST in being independent of the Fed's teat. Taking in $2 from the Fed for every tax dollar they send.

"Tax Hike Mike" Huckabee and his not-so-new compassionate conservatism. Also a Bush Doctrine neocon.

Mitt "Universal Healthcare" Romney? Some know him as Mitt "I don't raise taxes, I raise fees" Romney. A half billion dollars worth of fees to be specific. Just call him Flip Romney, it's easy to remember.

Bob "1.2 Billion tax increase proposal" Riley?

Tim "I took the money anyway" Pawlenty, supports bailouts for farmers, for the bankers , "Pawlenty tells WDAY radio he supports a $700 billion bailout of the financial industry as long as it comes with safeguards for taxpayers." ...whatever. There must be "Pawlenty" to go around. He's walking the tight rope right now (i.e. playing politics), hoping to have a 2012 shot.

The other guys are DC men. Part of the gang, and nothing special. With their own list of hypocrisy that's part and parcel for the politics of the day.

Once a Governor, always a governor?

Most of those people don't have jobs. Many of the "governors" are really "former" "also-rans."

I cheered myself up by counting how many had been beaten in a primary by Dr. Paul.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

they may as well call it the

they may as well call it the Southern Republic Neo-Conference.
