Ron Paul in Times Square 4 AM (I need night owls to watch!)
Please, someone get this photo op!
It's now 3:33am, I'm heading over to Times Square to place two signs infront of Cam #2

The idea is not mine but there seems to be some fear about actually doing this. So I'm going right now when there should be few police or others to interfere. I don't know how long those signs will stay so I need other night owls to watch the cam and get some good stills.
You can even videotape it, I'll be there in about 30 minutes.
Watch cam#2 at 4am, then post the pics (if my signs are even legible)
If the signs are too small or there is another problem, I'll use this as a test run and will repeat if needed. BUT, I need to see how this looks so someone please take a still image and email it to me.

First off, thank you for the kind words and encouragement. It was a wet night and the results are debatable but it was very much worth doing. A police car sat down the block watching me the whole time but never once said a word and two other cop cars drove by, slowed down to look, and kept on driving. That says to me, we should be doing this on a bigger scale and not worrying so much.
As for signage, having looked over the footage of my camcorder pointed at my PC monitor, I can tell you that footage is useless. If anyone has good screencaps please share them with everyone, but having looked over the archived caps on the earthcam site, I assume they’re of similar quality. So, when we do this a second time, it’ll have to be with much larger signs….but knowing that is half the battle.
All and all, for a test run, not bad. Looking forward, I’m going to see who from the various nyc meetups will join me on the next round. …Any takers?

I was just on another page, thanking Alan for a post and ranting and raving, then found him promoting Ron Paul on the steets of NYC in the wee hours of morning. It's things/people like this that make it all worth while! Smile....

I happened to be reading the posts on this site and clicked on that link at 5:30am and saw you standing there holding the sign. I watched you walk off about 20 seconds later. Without knowing what the sign was supposed to say it was a bit hard to make out. Might have been the rain or my monitor though. Great idea!

Hi Alan. I just wanted to say I admire your guts for being the one to just go for it and do this. I have some screen caps, so let me know if you need them or if someone else beat me to it. Unfortunately, I think the sign needs to be a bit bigger for the resolution of the camera to make out what it says. However, I think this idea has great potential, it just needs bigger letters and someone like you who is willing to do it. Again, great job!
