Transcripts of meetings

Huge Ron Paul fan here.

My topic is more a question than a topic.

We all know Dr. Paul is big on transparency and he has my complete support on that.

I have been debating with an RP hater and he has asked me if Dr. Paul records his meetings. If he does not, does anyone know?

If he does, are they available to the public and where would I find them?

I doubt if he thinks he is hiding anything

I suspect he's just attempting to demonise Dr. Paul by innuendo.

I'm not really sure it's so odd to ask such questions.

What is truly odd, is that he defends fed secrecy. Which, IMHO, is a walking talking breathing conspiracy. A conspiracy is something that happens behind closed doors. And this one is of vital importance to everyone that spends money.

So, since he cannot defend fed secrecy, he attacks Dr. Paul.

Nothing new under the sun. Same old same old.

I've sent an email but haven't heard back. I'll wait.

That's an Odd Question

It probably depends upon how "official" the meetings are. I doubt if he records meetings that are just with individuals discussing their issues. I don't know. You would have to go directly to him about that. I am just trying to determine the relevance. What is he afraid of? Ron Paul has been an open book and saying the same thing, nothing new here, for over 30 years. So what does he think he is hiding?

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5,6

The lip of truth shall be established forever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment...Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are His delight. Prov 12:19,22

I am not sure about meeting minutes, but...

There are many resources out there. I am sure that your friend would not be willing to read Ron Paul's book "A Foreign Policy of Freedom" which would highlight through the years the mistakes America has made in the last 40 years, and how Ron Paul has unequivocally been the single voice of reason. It simple lists his speeches on the floor and others that when looked back upon if followed could have saved many American lives, taken us out of no win wars, and brought freedom and prosperity to the U.S., but being Dr. no never paid off in the early years. If your friend is even willing to read a little, there is a web resource the he/she should have access to as well as any and all new members or lurkers here on the DP, and that is:
Present this as a gift to your friend, and if that friend truly wants to know what Dr. Paul is about and how he has fought for the people over the corporation for over 30 years, this is a great place to start.

In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.
~Mark Twain

Always remember:
"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds." ~ Samuel Adams

That's great

and I agree, but you're probably right, he won't read it.

Although, Ive read and own many of his books and donated the max to his campaign.

I can go on and on about what Dr. Paul has done and often do.

I wasn't expecting to get the speech, I was hoping for some help to trash somebody else's skepticism.

I just got the latest straight talk and no one says it better than him. So I'm convinced, I'm a believer. I'm already on Dr. Paul's side.

Some of you folks are well armed with the standard intellectual ammo and that's great.

But I already have that and use that.

You know, if I wasn't a Ron Paul supporter, I would be turned off by this evasion to an answer to a very simple question. But it won't be that easy to drive me away. Actually, I don't even think it's possible.

If you don't know, you don't know and that's fine.

But I'm already on your side. So are we here to help each other or just preach to the other members of the choir?

We're not convincing anyone with homilies alone, people need to see the works in action. That's what I'm trying to deliver, but all I'm getting is what I already know and agree with.

Mbokie5 welcome to the dailypaul

I see you are a new member.

Dr. Paul's office does in fact answer emails.
good luck!

For the welcome and the straight talk.

Ok fair question. I have emailed and haven't heard back yet.

At the same time, if you don't want to answer, why respond at all?

I thought we were all on the same side here.

He makes SO many

decisions which control other peoples lives. Of course there should be transcripts of his back room deals.

Not sure how to answer this.

Not sure how to answer this. All of his "meetings" with Congress are in the Congressional Record.

I couched my question wrong.

What I want to know is about meetings in his office, as to whether or not transcripts are kept.

I'm getting a lot of flack on the transparency issue.

no, he isnt Richard Nixon.

no, he isnt Richard Nixon. For the record, just in case you were wondering, the Fed makes DECISIONS and performs ACTIONS in secret, not just MEETS. Anything Ron Paul does that is relevant to your life is done on the floor of Congress.

Ventura 2012

I know that

As a survivor of the nixon era, you're preaching to the choir.

Bad attitudes do not deal with prickly questions. Simply saying "he's not so and so" is dodging the question and Ron Paul would not dodge the question.

Objectivity helps the C4L, emotional responses do not. I've never seen Dr. Paul become overly emotional about anything.

We have to emulate his calm and respectful demeanor and avoid the dodging.

If we won't meet the enemy head on, we will never defeat the enemy. Yelling back in a screaming match is something I've learned to avoid. It just makes the room more chaotic and doesn't help whatsoever.

It just causes people to leave the room and ignore any positive message with a belief that we're all a bunch of loud hype. We convince no one. We drive them away. You'll catch more flies with honey than you will with vinegar.

If we don't grow up, we'll blow up. It's as simple as that.

Ask Dr. Paul. He's the beacon. He would never yell at anyone or dodge their questions.. He would provide an intelligent and well considered response.

I am not dodging the

I am not dodging the question. The answer is NO. There is NO reason why he should, either! By the way, I didn't view any of my responses as "prickly" or "abrasive" in the least. If you viewed them as such, I'm sorry. If you did not view them as such but are trying to be a crybaby troll, I wish I had been MORE rude! A classic troll technique is to go into a forum to ask an asinine yes or no question, and then bitch when someone tries to make something out of nothing and answer in some detail.

Ventura 2012

Ah, well

I considered my question to be the prickly end of things.

We can either be prepared when this question is asked of us, or we can be the deer in the headlights.

This question will be asked. It already has been.

I didn't notice any detail.

C'mon fella, I'm asking a serious question and trolling would take more time than I have.

Still no answer. If I don't have one in a few days, I'll call the office.

Understand, this is no attempt to put anyone on the spot, it's an attempt to get off of one.

Why don't you just email his office and ask him...

why ask us?

Ron Paul is my president too.
