Original post:
My former Sen. Jim Bunning just tore Bernanke a new one and was on fire! Somebody post this online ASAP!!! Even Dodd had to criticise "Big Ben". It was so pathetic watching Bayh kissing the boots of a failed "prophet". This track record deserves defense and apologies for criticism? PLEASE!!! At least these hearings are showing the pathetic representatives for what they are. Too bad their constituents aren't even watching! On CSPAN 3, for later uploading.

When Sen. Bunning said "It's time to send you back to

a bit different in style,
a bit different in style, relating to regulation of derivatives and so forth, but a good roasting indeed. he did an excellent job of calling him out.
and there should have been fireworks after calling the fed the creature from jekyll island.
Bernanke will not admit fault...
I am amazed to hear Bernanke's response (actually not), but anyway. As far as his statement regarding AIG, the Fed, as well as some well connected people in Washington knew that Goldman Sachs would have gone under, so they took it upon themselves to make sure AIG was given the proper Government/Taxpayer funding in order to give Goldman Sachs an almost 100% return on all their losses. We, the American people via our taxpayer dollars have funded the losses of Goldman Sachs by bailing out AIG, how do you all feel about that? I am sure most of you already know this, but I am sure there are some that don't. Unfortunately, Goldman made an enourmous amount of money because they in turn changed their status to a Commercial Bank after everything went to crap last October of 2008, and then were eligible to receive Tarp funds, and this was after they had already been paid back their losses from AIG via our government/taxpayers dollars. Goldman went on to take that Tarp money and gamble in the markets, and incredibly made the right buys in stocks and made a profit with government/taxpayer money. Sounds to me like the Fed should be put out of business, if it had not been for them, Goldman would have gone under, and we would not have supplied them with their gambling money, and they would have taken their losses from AIG from the start. If I have this wrong, will someone please correct me. I have done a lot of research on this, so be prepared to do battle.
No one of their own pet
No one of their own pet compaines would have gone under. one way or another, they would have printed the money with or without consent just like they did for the European banks. F**k the Fed, I say we abolish them and abolish the debt. After all, they signed the checks.

He's upset that the Fed did NOT support regulation of
subprime mortgages and derivatives. This is not in line with Dr. Paul's philosophy. Dr. Paul was not for regulation of these things. He is for less regulation, not more. Dr. Paul's whole view is that regulation causes problems, and that this causes politicians to call for more regulations to cure those problems which in turn creates even more inefficiency ..exactly what Bunning is doing. Dr. Paul did not disagree with Greenspan that mortgages and derivatives should not be regulated.
Dr. Paul...
May not agree with so much regulation, but he also does not believe that if an entity fails, like Goldman Sach the government or taxpayers should bail them out either.
Derivatives regulation
I watched a PBS documentary on Brooksley Born that Sen. Bunning mentioned who recognized the problems with derivatives trading. The problem was that Wall St. kept pressuring people to buy derivatives without fully understanding the risks involved. Wall St. was essentially defrauding investors into making large investments in over the counter derivatives assuring them that these were great investments. Alan Greenspan did not accept that there would be fraud in the free market which is against Dr. Paul's desire to have strong punishment for fraud. It is not the problem that derivatives were being traded but rather the way that Wall St. was marketing was problematic and put the financial system at risk. Alan Greenspan was perceived as a free market libertarian though he believed in complete non regulation of the market even allowing fraud to perpetuate.

Creature from Jekyll Island
Nice! That quote is going to be one of Bunning's most memorable quotes ever!

I'm no fan
But that was AWESOME! At least I think we should applaud these people if they get it right. I mean, he mentioned Brooksley Borne and called the Fed "the creature from Jekyll Island" in one opening statement. At least he's on the right track a bit with the Fed.

If you're just going to post garbage like that then leave this forum, you're only a disruption. Go back in your home and sit and cry that the NWO has a great amount of power and enjoy your carbon credits and third world nation status when it comes. Sorry but I'm not going out without a fight, I've already made a revolution within myself but don't want my grandchildren and generations after that to live in some 1984, Demolition Man type of society. How about you? I suppose you're one of those who doesn't care to go down in history as a slacker when it comes to stopping the corruptness from taking complete control over not just the globe but the human mind and body as well.

I'm sorry but listening to Bunning bumble-read his notes was painful to listen to. ...too little too late methinks.

I was just thinking the opposite. Yes he stumbled, but he was always aware of it and made a sincere effort to go back and make sure that his point was made clearly. I don't really know much about Jim Bunning, but I am somewhat heartened by the message he delivered today.
I think he stumbled because it is so
scary to stand up strong against the all-powerful. People have been killed for telling the truth.
I really admire what Bunning did today. It is later than we wish, but look how few senators can muster this level of moral courage. He expressed himself eloquently IMO.
