Movers of Light

Join me in creating an army that will spread vital information to the "sleeping" masses of Americans.

Movers of Light -
No leadership no HQ's just an activist grassroots movement for education - a real change in America.

How it will work?

For example http://www.antiwar.com posts an important article on the fake and illegal war in Afghanistan.
Of course this article will never see the light of the day in any MSM media outlets - our job would be to first spread this article to other activists and then put in motion a campaign of emails faxes phone calls to NYTimes LATimes CNN MSNBC CNBC FOXNews local newspapers...local Sheriff...friends family co-workers so that particular article would reach a very large American audience and become "the talk of the town" - every town and every corner in America.

Patriots - I would love to hear some feedback/additional ideas - let's do some brainstorming.

Merry Christmas everyone*))

Very good idea, Shining light on war's ugliness

I respectfully take issue with the word 'army'. An army is antithetical to what you describe. An individual joins an army by submitting to the chain of command.

War is the suspension of the rule of law and the imposition of force. Men are not made free by force.

Battles, fights, war and army can be taken as analogies. But should we in any way legitimize their use in the worst ways by santifying their use in noble ways.

I am not suggesting we hide from war or the history of war, only that we do not befuddle our language. Bad is bad.

Movers and the late night syndrome

According to the latest New Scientist report on late night workers a growing complaint is making news in connection with movers. According to the findings, when movers are out late at night, the incidences of accidents and mishaps in their occupation are growing. Movers are aware of these problems but having difficult in contending with it. The problem is that late nights cause tiredness and lack of alertness for many people. However, although for many workers this is not so critical for movers this can be very worrying.Jersey City Long Distance Movers Real estate/ Business / Home & Garden / Transport

Just a thought !

Debra Medina needs to just go anyways,If Rick Perry dosn't show or will not debate, have this fact brought out in the local media and papers.
If she continues to do this every chance she gets,His followers will start to ask why he is afraid to debate with her and will start to lose faith in him.
I know I would if I was supporting him,It kind of relates to going to court,if one party does not show the other is awarded the judgement, and she may end up with a candid interview out of the arrangement.

I will call tomorrow

thanks for the link.

Here's what I do.

Sounds dishonest, but when I'm particularly outraged in something happening outside of my so-called "representation," I use a search engine to fine an address of somebody who lives in said county and pose as that person.

Best way to be taken seriously by representatives who, otherwise, would not take your call.

Ultimately they may send a letter or whatever, to some unwitting individual, but it's worth it.

great approach Troy

I am thinking we should target local newspapers in Texas - write letters to the editor pointing out unfair exclusion of Debra Medina from televized debates and demand her inclusion.

That's all good, but what about making this group effort,

to pass on information to others about getting online and seeking out the DailyPaul. (leastwise, refer the articles to threads at the DP)
Lot's of info on the daily, I can hardly keep up with the follow-up as it is, let alone adding "another file" of info to keep organized.
People are still finding out about Ron Paul, and there are "slim jims" (info brochures) to pass out, and stamp the DP site on it, and your name and number. That's what I do. And it keeps it simple.
I do like the idea of being more intent and target groups you've mentioned above.
The John Birch Society is great at organizing the distribution of materials and have speakers on varying subjects, authors and such.
There is tons of info out there, and we want to help others discover like minded people, like them.
We are looking for people, who are looking for us, in addition to educating the locals.

Networking is our greatest advantage.

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

Why not do both?

Just pick one of your most deeply felt issues to focus on outside of the DP. Then come back "home" for all the news and to reenergize and to visit with friends and like minded people here. Remember that not everyone we touch base with on the "outside" will find their way here. Sometimes we have to go to them - and then they will reach others beyond our range, as well.

I live in Texas. In my entire county, only 7 people voted for Ron Paul, and I know 5 of them. I campaigned my entire county alone, and will do so again in 2012, but as far as campaigning for "important new articles" is concerned, I'm probably not on board. I'd get run out of town on a rail by the McCain Republicans and the Democrats.

People in my county/locale don't get it. Oh yea, we're a dry county, if that tells you anything! Bible Belt country.

Good idea, but impractical for myself at the present time. Best of luck though!

"The war is not supposed to be winnable, it is supposed to be continuous… all for the hierarchy of society… The essential act of war is destruction, not necessarily of human lives, but of the products of human labor. War is a way of shattering to pieces, or pouring into the stratosphere, or sinking in the depths of the sea, materials which might otherwise be used to make the masses too comfortable, and hence, in the long run, too intelligent… it helps to preserve the special mental atmosphere that a hierarchical society needs. War… is now a purely internal affair.”

I vote that we eliminate voting and lobbying as our first

movement!!

I'm on the fence about voting..

I think local elections do count.
But lobbying...Good friggin' riddance.

"I don't endorse anything they say"
~Ron Paul On the 911 Truth movement.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGyhlNY0y1k

I hear you brother -- I question whether or voting

can exist without lobbying.

It's a Protection Schema -- The Lobbying is either going to be above board or under-the-table; only in a "legal / illegal" society will you have rights.

Once "rights" are written into law or protected by an authority (or used as a justification) you will have "voting" -- Rights are a protection against 100% Self-Defense and from the axiom of "right to fail"

We know in business and currency if we allow 100% pure competition we get the highest levels of innovation (pure competition = zero protections = free-markets).

However, "rights" (both positive and negative) create a dichotomy that can never be satisfide. Because of this we can never have free-market-courts.

This is the Rothbardian Homesteading Farse.

Rothbard believes in the right-to-fail in all areas save property rights -- thererfore he believes that a force-agent can "retrieve" property for the victim -- this destroys pure innovation in the self-defense market, thus it's not a free-market axiom.

Ok, what are we waiting for?

Time to get clear on our first campaign!

I vote something toward the return to sound money, auditing the federal reserve, or stopping these insane wars.

You'll forgive me that my Mom is somewhat of a liberal. But, aside from being a bit of a socialist, she's also been an activist for many decades (still is.) She frequently spoke with Congressmen and used to write OpEd pieces for magazines and newspapers. (I vividly remember when I much younger, a Congressman actually came to talk to her at our house once.)

In spite of our minor disagreements, I know that she's always had the absolute best intentions in mind. And there are a few things that I've learned from her along the way.

She one belonged to a lobby called "Results," which at the time was considered "pound for pound, the most influential lobby" sometime in the 80s.

We spent an hour on the phone last week talking about the different strategies, and I'm excited to share them with you guys:

I propose that we should take a queue from Results when considering our campaign.

Here is a link:

http://www.results.org/skills_center/advocacy_how_tos/workin...

This link describes what they call "Activists Milestone #1" and it's a page on how to work with the media.

Please read the above link and tell me what you think. You'll notice there is even a link that will provide us with all the contact information to all editors of just about all the newspapers buried within the article! (Here: http://capwiz.com/results/dbq/media/ )

Here it is in a nutshell:

- Be Clear and Concise -(The shorter the letter, the more likely it will be published.)

- Connect the Dots (For example, use local stories on schools to talk about global education,...)

- Be Challenging - (Feel free to question what others have said or done,...)

- Call to Action - (Remember to end your letter by asking for action...)

- Include Your Contact information - (They won't print this information, but may use it to confirm that you wrote the letter.)

- Be Contagious - (Maximize your efforts by ... writing on an issue that is being covered widely. Note: When submitting letters to the Washington Post or the New York Times, do not send it to other papers until you are sure they will not print it.)

- Coordinate Your Efforts - (Have as many people in your group send in letters to the editor at the same time to maximize your odds of getting published and to emphasize the importance of the issue.) [we are already doing this!]

- If Your Letter is Published, Send a Copy to Your Congressional Offices

Also, help us track [DailyPaul] successes, by reporting success stories back here.

That's awesome information, troy!

Thank you!
My vote has to go to stopping the insane wars!

Here's a website I just came across that might help us get active:

Thanks.

And thanks for the quick follow up and link.

i looked at the citizen.org website, but couldn't find any campaigns i was really interested in joining. (there were no anti-war campaigns going on there!) But there is a good letters to the editor locator on there that we can use. Is there a way we can add our own campaigns, or is it limited to only the ones they choose?

a favorite of mine, has always been Downsize DC. Here is a list of their current campaigns here: http://www.downsizedc.org/etp/

One that is of high relevancy is this one: http://www.downsizedc.org/etp/campaigns/77

It reads:

... "There is really only one way to win a war on terrorism. Stop being afraid!"

...

"Achieving this victory does not require large armies, invasions, illegal spying, torture, detention camps, Kangaroo courts, or multi-billion dollar Congressional appropriations. Neither does it require us to shred the Bill of Rights or the Geneva Conventions. All it requires is a little backbone. And a little common sense."

...

"Tell Congress that you've already won your war on terror, and that you've done so by not being afraid."

It then asks you to write a similar letter to your representatives:

“I am not afraid of terrorism, and I want you to stop being afraid on my behalf. Please start scaling back the official government war on terror. Please replace it with a smaller, more focused anti-terrorist police effort in keeping with the rule of law. Please stop overreacting. I understand that it will not be possible to stop all terrorist acts. I accept that. I am not afraid.”

A letter similar to the one above, would look really good in a newspaper!

Excellent, Troy!

Thank you for this and the other info you posted! Doesn't it feel good to have an action plan and to be doing something positive?!!

Great letter!

I think I'll use it for the citizen.org website, as a call to action and for others to use when writing to their reps. There is a list of newspapers for every state and a feature where you can write a free form letter to each of them on-line. I haven't done much with it yet because I just found the site tonight, but I plan to work with it asap. I was hoping you had found your lists of all the major media outlets, names of editors and their email addresses - any luck with that yet?

That list is saved on another computer, I think

...but both links that we already mentioned have all that info if we do a bit of legwork.

for example if you visit the "Results" link, provided above, and here: http://capwiz.com/results/dbq/media/

Just enter your zip code and make sure the "show national media in results" box is checked.

this will bring you to all your local papers, plus all the national ones.

Mr. Rove, What About The Antiwar Right?

Karl Rove's reference to "the antiwar left" misleadingly suggests that all opposition to the Afghan war comes from the left ("Obama Can Win in Afghanistan," op-ed, Dec. 3). What about Rep. Ron Paul from Texas and the readers of The American Conservative and Chronicles?

We're not on the left, and we have a better right to style ourselves conservatives than do the likes of Karl Rove and his former boss.
