It was supposed to be released 11/25 wide but I can't find it anywhere. It's got pretty good reviews...??? Does anyone know why??

Hmmm

The comments on this thread are smug in their "insiders only" point of view. No one wants to tell what the heck you are talking about. Hate most movies, have no idea what this is about, have no idea why I should be concerned, and this thread hasn't shed a bit of light on that.

The plot of the movie:

In a nutshell, a man and his young son wander more or less aimlessly in a perpetually cold, wet, gray, post -unspecified apocalyptic world, totally devoid of all non-human flora and fauna, except for one dog and one insect which appear without explanation and for no obvious reason.

Their main concerns are avoiding being raped and eaten by gangs of roving cannibals, scavenging the wreckage of
civilization for canned goods so they can avoid turning into cannibals themselves, and resisting the overwhelming urge to kill themselves.(which a fair percentage of the audience probably had when leaving the theater).

The book was a good read,

hoping the movie does it justice.

Watched it today in Dallas

Only playing at two theaters I could find.

It has to be about the most grim and bleak movie I have seen if not thenits a tight race for the lead. A good movie but disturbing for sure. I also did not like the lack of back ground as the movie was made to focus not on the cause but the effect.

Worth seeing but a gim reminder to us in the know that may not be to far off the mark in the possiible near future.

Children of men was the same way

They could have put more background story into it...made it another hour long and it would have been a better movie.

Yes the lack

of any explanation how things came to be as they were made it unsatisfying somehow.

Still compared to this, "children of men" was a light romantic comedy.
