Cynical Holiday Cheer

Well, it's like -3 outside, and I need a break from reloading, so here's a little holiday political parody, from me to you:

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the House
The Congress was looking, down Pelosi’s new blouse;

The audit plans lay on the table with care,
In hopes that Bernanke soon would be there;

Blackwater was marching as the enemy bled,
While visions of dollar signs danced in their head;

When out on the floor, there arose such a clatter,
I turned on to C-Span to see what was the matter.

Lo and Behold, I saw a pile of dead Bankers,
Al Grayson was screaming, “You’re all f*cking wankers!"

Barney Frank cowered as Geithner ran off,
and brought back none other, than Mr. Chertoff;

With his little bald head, and his arrogant sneer,
I said to myself, “That guy is a queer;”

”What’s going on here?” he said very slick,
”You’ve taken our liberties- you miserable prick!”

Dr. Paul swung with thunderous might,
and sent Barney running for Dubai’s next flight;

The good doctor stretched, and dusted himself off,
Grabbed Obama by the balls, and dared him to cough;

He twisted and tore with a sadistic little grin,
And whispered in his ear, “The doctor is in.”

Let this be a lesson, for one and all,
Trample our rights, and face Dr. Paul…

ROTFLMAO

That's not cynical, that's most uplifting.

"...down Pelosi’s new blouse..."

To see the proverbial witch's tit? Is that why it's so cold this week?

Dude...

I could totally see her in a Wizard of Oz witch costume.
I'LL GET YOU MY PRETTY!!!

When it mentioned looking down her blouse, I cringed a bit.

excellent! Do you mind if I send it on to family and friends?

Most funny.

Thanks for the laugh as it is needed sorely by all.

Be my guest.

I came up with this kind of off the cuff, just goofing around on a break. Feel free to send it out if you like. If it will give someone a chuckle, I guess it served its purpose. :-)

NO BREAKS FOR YOU!!!

Didn't you take a break YESTERDAY!?
BACK TO THE PRESS WITH YOU!!!!

Just kidding.

On an off topic note.

I am getting inconsistent OAL's when I seat my projectiles. It doesn't matter if they are SMK's, AMAX's, or what.

I have been told that it is because of the inconsistencies in ogive, which is hard to believe. I was told to get a comparorator (sp) and sort, and seat according to the different ogives.

I thought these were supposed to be MATCH bullets!!

Are these things being made by some Pakistani kids in a hut somewhere?!?

Can there be so much inconsistency in a box of projectiles that would cause a few thousandths difference in OAL?!?

Just thought I would ask a fellow reloader, as I am a bit new to this.

Thanks...

Check the Die to start with.

If you do a lot of heavy reloading, it gets a bit grubby so you need to take it completely apart, clean it, and reassemble it, and clean the shell holders. Start there, and if you still have the problem, we'll check some other things. If you are using a progressive machine, it's a whole other bag, and you should expect a certain amount of deviation. Single-stage gives you much more quality control for precision ammunition.

The comparator is a good recommendation if you are doing high end shooting. Look to Sinclair International online and they will have a lot of tools for you.
You will get some slight deviations at the meplat as well, especially on the Sierra Match bullets. It's a result of their swaging process. I trim mine to uniform length and lot them according to weight, length, etc, and I do the same for the cases, and I also use micrometer seating dies. But then again I'm a precision reloader, and at the ranges I shoot, every little detail counts. If this is basic target ammunition, I wouldn't sweat it too much.

If you're only getting a thousandth or two in deviation, I really wouldn't worry too much about it. It's not enough to drastically effect accuracy.

have you checked your

have you checked your seating die to see if there maybe some lube or junk up inside? also look at the shell plate.. sometimes some powder will accumulate.. what press are you loading on?

Thanks SHPBT

Which used to be my favorite bullet but now is a source of many a headache.

Yep...Checked the dies, used two different ones, cleaned them, and made sure they were tightened properly.

I guess the "shell plate" is where you slide the base of the cartridge in, to seat the bullet. It looks clean, but I will clean it just for good measure. ( if that is what you are talking about)

We're using a RCBS "rock crusher"? It doesn't seem to have that much use on it, and I couldn't see how it could be a problem, but I am a newbie to this stuff.
What are your thoughts on ogive? One dude said that you can have basically three different groups of ogive in the same box of bullets, and that you must sort them out accordingly.
MAN, this reloading stuff is almost like work!!!

I thought that getting an electronic dispenser and scale would save me some time, but now I HAVE TO SORT OUT THE BULLETS?!?
