"Republicans have also recruited good candidates for their open seats. New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly Ayotte is competitive, as are Ohio's Rob Portman and Missouri's Roy Blunt. Republicans in Florida have to get through a primary fight, but either Gov. Charlie Crist or former Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio will likely hold the seat. (I've donated to Messrs. Blunt and Rubio.) Only Kentucky's open seat vacated by Jim Bunning causes the GOP squeamishness."

If
there was any justice in this country Rove would be communicating all this from one of the federal prison's writing centers.
I bet he's squeamish!
We're facing off against his entire machine, and winning, so far. That can't be very uplifting for someone who is renowned for his effectiveness in destroying candidates. :)
And this: hot on the heals
And this: hot on the heals of Trey Grayson accusing Rand Paul of being the establishment candidate,
Karl Rove disses Rand Paul
This race keeps getting more and more bizarre.

Mr. Rove does not go into
Mr. Rove does not go into exactly what is supposedly causing the GOP squeamishness. The only sentence that mentions the Kentucky race is in the excerpt posted here. Maybe its Paul vs. Grayson, but it could be something else (like the possibility of a strong Democratic contender). I, like many here probably, wish he had gone further, but this seemed to be a rundown of Republicans that could take seats held by Democrats or vice versa.
Drain the swamp!
Hmmm...
Has the GOP *EVER* represented conservatives? (or anyone save their blue-blooded friends?)
welcome to our world,
karl.

Here is the skinny that no one is talking about ...
especially, the Grayson camp.
His base can't vote for him in the primary in Northern KY, because they are all registered Democrats.
I have two quite politically powerful relatives that are in this boat.
And the two most politically powerful individuals in N. KY that were super delegates at the Dem. Conv. are also in this boat.
All four have donated to his campaign, but cannot vote for him in the primary.
That is a big fat LOL.
And you thought Rand was in trouble because all his supporters are not registered Rep.

I think they're squeamish because their golden boy,
Trey Grayson, is not doing as well as they had hoped. He would have done whatever they bade him do for the sake of power and prestige. I think they got the goods on him early so they knew they could count on him.

I don't think you can be the establishment candidate when "Mr Establishment" himself goes after you.

Nevermind what the GOP likes or doesn't like.
The best way to get control of the GOP is to ignore it. The GOP is becoming irrelevant because the poor candidates they have given us do not represent the conservative of today, which has much more of a libertarian stance than ever before.
I'm very conservative politically speaking and the GOP has never accurately represented me with their candidates.
"Squimenishness" a diease of the Neocons brought on by any
mention of a Liberty canidate or the proper names Ron and Paul.

The GOP doesn't deserve to
The GOP doesn't deserve to win elections if they continue to put up Neo Cons who believe in undeclared wars around the globe, and destruction of the Bill of Rights. We need real Americans, not globalists.
The Republicans threw the election by running a candidate who personified Bush II, the most unpopular president in our history. Telling the nation that it was OK with him if US troops stayed in Iraq for another hundred years amounted to taking a dive.
Obama's efforts to communize our nation have generated a tremendous revulsion of the Democrats. Unless the Republicans repudiate their pro-undeclared war, pro-globalist, anti-Bill of Rights stands, they do not deserve our support. We need to start voting third party. There was no difference between the Nazis and the Communists, and the same could be said about the Democrats and the Republicans - at the top.
Will grass roots Democrats and Republicans throw out their leadership? Only time will tell. At present, we have bi-partisan treason - both parties working against us, our nation and our Constitution. They are supporting a foreign power - the globalists.
No man (or woman) can serve two masters. It's either the US Constitution or the UN Charter. Why do you think our congress refuses to declare war, and yet finances it? It is because most of them believe that we no longer have the authority to declare war. They have sold us out to the UN. To declare war would be to thumb their noses at the UN.
Politicians who's allegiance is to the UN, rather than our Constitution, represent a Fifth Column in this nation. They are NOT Americans. They are globalists.
It doesn't surprise me the establishment
is squeamish about Rand Paul.
I'm surprised we don't have more candidates making them squeamish. We aren't winning until they're running scared.
Defend Liberty!
It shouldn't surprise anyone
that Karl Rove, the ultimate insider, would not want to even acknowledge Rand Paul, or Ron Paul either. They stand against everything Karl Rove stands for. i.e. wars, home security, globtrotting, spend, spend, spend, and then tax, tax, tax.....and in the whirlwind, his cronnies pick up stupendous bank accounts. Just ask Donald Rumsfeld, who has been sitting on the Tamiflu maker's board of directors for some time. Asian flu, bird flu, and now swine flu.......who's promoting all this flu bull? Maybe our good old government, run by people like Rummy. Our government has turned into a cess pool of perverts, and cheats, who's only job it is, is to find ways to worm into the dark shadows of discreet corruption, all in the public's eye. And then they'll send you a Merry Christmas card thanking you for your support. Slogan for 2010 - "Vote the Bums Out" and keep turning over the seats every election. Don't let anyone get too comfortable.

Actually ...
That comment can be interpreted in more than one way.
The more obvious one is ....
Too close to call ...
He is not happy with the establishment pick on this one.

Thank you.

The rest of us
The rest of us have questions about Karl Rove. It's really funny. Before "W" got elected as President, and Rove was in Austin, GOP insiders talked negatively about him. Then when he went to Washington, their tune changed.
