* These are the kind of men we need..when I found this I immediately thought of Dr.Paul and our Liberty candidates!
God, give us Men!
God, give us Men! A time like this demands
Strong minds, great hearts, true faith and ready hands;
Men whom the lust of office does not kill;
Men whom the spoils of office cannot buy;
Men who possess opinions and a will;
Men who have honor; men who will not lie;
Men who can stand before a demagogue
And damn his treacherous flatteries without winking!
Tall men, sun-crowned, who live above the fog
In public duty and in private thinking.
For while the rabble, with their thumb-worn creeds,
Their large professions and their little deeds,
Mingle in selfish strife, lo! Freedom weeps,
Wrong rules the land and waiting Justice sleeps.

He's been on the road a lot...
He's been working really hard for our liberty... some days he's out over 14 hrs campaigning. God bless him... That's a big part of why we're doing so well! The fundraising is crucial too, hopefully we can set some records this quarter too!
Rand gives so many speeches
Rand gives so many speeches and he's very competent on the stump. His camp should be trying for better video and sound than what's in this compilation, not tough to do at all.
The first 5 million supporters of Dr. Paul are 'early adopters.' The next 10 million will require a modified approach.
Thanks for everyone
Thanks for everyone spreading this video around.
Well stated, Rand Paul lost
Well stated, Rand Paul lost me partially a while back when he advocated an escalation of DEA authority and lost me entirely with his treacherous and evil position on the GITMO question and his overall attitude toward the demonic "War on Terror."
Having Ron Paul's DNA means squat to me. Rand clearly will say anything needed to get elected and for that he commands ZERO respect from me.
It doesn't matter if he's "better" than his opponent. If you want to attach your name to a man who will pursue policies you object to then those policies have YOUR name written on them as well. Don't be a dupe. Tyranny always relies on the votes of the hopeful but gullible public. Withdraw your participation and the "democratic" system of mob rule is left illegitimate.
Give it a rest
will you. Rand is better than every elected official next to his father. He will follow the constitution and won't take lobbyist money. I'll take it..
Perhaps something else that could use a rest is...
...this idea that only those speaking favorably of Rand can comment with regard to him.
Rand is running for Senate. He is not exempt from scrutiny.
His recent controversial statements have caused concern with many.
Some, including myself, wait hoping that he can satisfactorily clear things up. He doesn't seem to be in a hurry to do that. Everyone does not feel obligated to wait or make excuses for him or put words in his mouth like many are doing.
As to whether Rand may be better than elected officials, that is not the only consideration many of us have when deciding whether or not to support a candidate.
That said...I don't like some of the obnoxiousness coming out of EITHER side of the Rand issue.
Rand wants to expand the DEA?
I found this on his website:
Drug cartel violence continues to pose a growing threat to US national security. Top intelligence officials are worried that the kidnappings, murders, and drug related anarchy may be about to spread across our southern border in a more significant manner. Rand takes this threat very seriously, and he will be looking to propose potential solutions in the constitutional and national defense arenas.
I guess that means he doesn't want to just legalize them and solve the problem that way. But I can't find a quote about expanding the DEA.
Remember, Rand Paul needs to
Remember, Rand Paul needs to sounds tough on drugs in Kentucky.
As for his policy positions, they are to secure the borders and leave issues of drugs to the states.
Selling Your Principles to Win Votes
All this talk about Rand having to tailor his message by selling his principles to win votes is horsesh*t. Clearly the way we present our message needs to be revised, but it doesn't have to be revised by selling our principles.
The Constitutional message is the winning message. Did you see that post by Harris? He owned the neo-cons on GITMO and the war while still sounding stronger on defense than them.
This sort of mindset coming from the liberty movement makes me sick to my stomach. The point is, we need to tailor the message so it wins; not butcher it and turn ourselves into every other lying sleaze-ball-like politician.

2010....lets make history and put some politicians in office that truly will represent us AND uphold the Constitution!
Thanks for everyone who is
Thanks for everyone who is spreading the message!
Still Waiting for Clarification
Until he has the integrity to clarify his neo-conish post on GITMO and due process, I will not support him anymore.
I see no reason to show him any love when he doesn't have the respect for us here to come on and respond to our concerns. Instead he played it like a typical politician. Furthermore, his blindly-following trolls came in here and had the audacity to call the daily paul just any old little website.
We know Peter Schiff and we know that he is extremely deserving of being the leader in this movement. I'll throw my support to Schiff, Kokesh, and Harris until Rand shows us respect, and either clarifies or retracts his statements. His trolls also owe this website and Michael a major apology for calling it just some little website. This website is the heart of the RON Paul Revolution.
Like father like son, isn't always a given. Compare Ronald Reagan to his son Ron Reagan.
"Every advance first comes into being as the luxury of a few rich people, only to become, after a time, the indispensable necessity taken for granted by everyone." Mises
Rand already clarified everything
by refusing to clarify anything.
I'm not interested in politicians (or aspiring politicians) who use equivocation as a strategy.
Rand Paul
Neo-conish?
- Rand Paul opposed the war in Iraq
- Rand Paul is opposed to undeclared wars
- Rand Paul is opposed to the Patriot Act
- Rand Paul is opposed to Torture
- Rand Paul is opposed to indefinite detention
So where does he disagree with his father?
He believes those in Gitmo should be tried in military tribunals like our own soldiers, a position both Michael Scheuer and Pat Buchanan share. If they are guilty, they are convicted. If they are found innocent, they are returned to their country of origin.
To say he is a neocon... really dooms the libertarian movement to irrelevancy. This is an honest disagreement you have with Rand. This does not prevent his father from fully endorsing him, nor should it prevent you. But everyone must make their own decisions on who to support.
Anyway, I don't want to get into an argument here. This is for promoting this video for the moneybomb! Thanks!
Neo-Conish for Votes or because It is the Truth
Since when is the war in Afghanistan a declared war?
But supports keeping open the absolute epitome of that which represents the above.
If what you and other loyalists are saying on here is true (he is simply saying these things to win over neo-cons) fine but I'm not willing to take that risk, nor respect a person who does such a thing. Additionally, failing to respond to your base is outright disrespectful and cowardice.
But back to your question: in addition to all of the above, Ron Paul has NEVER sold his principles to win votes.
"Every advance first comes into being as the luxury of a few rich people, only to become, after a time, the indispensable necessity taken for granted by everyone." Mises
He is opposed to torture and indefinite detention...
...and yet doesn't want Guantanamo closed, even though it's notorious for those things.
Wouldn't that be like being opposed to involuntary medical experimentation and gas chambers, yet wanting Auschwitz and Dachau kept open?
I don't feel like arguing either. I guess, like Abraham, I'm still waiting/hoping for clarification or retraction.
Jiminy, with all due respect,
Jiminy, with all due respect, this is a very minor issue. Buildings don't torture people. Buildings don't indefinitely detain people. Has Gitmo become an unfortunate icon for these things? Yes. But that's meaningless. If Rand Paul opposes torture and indefinite detention, then let's trust that he opposes them at Gitmo, too.
Having said that, stay realistic. Even if Rand Paul supported carrying on the Bush practices, President Obama doesn't. That's what matters in this debate. The junior Republican senator fro Kentucky won't have any influence over whether the president closes Gitmo. This won't be an issue in the near future when Gitmo is finally closed.
Retraction wouldn't satisfy
Retraction wouldn't satisfy me. Rand has proven himself a venerable POLITICIAN. In my book, that means he's to be loathed, not supported.
Yeah. We need more
Yeah. We need more candidates who will run as libertarian purists and lose.
?
I'm not a libertarian purist, but is it too much to ask for him to not want to support a camp that is notorious for torture and indefinite detainment (both of which you say he is opposed), or advocate perpetuating phony baloney wars (as with his support of a declaration of war in Afghanistan)?
