Submitted by hawkiye on Fri, 12/11/2009 - 23:14A friend who runs a trucking business says he is ready to shut down because he hauls a lot of food over the 48. The reason is there is not enough food to haul so a glut of truckers competing for the dwindling food cargo have driven the prices of hauling too low to make it worth while.
He also has many military contacts and believes they will try some sort of martial law end of January and ad only have a couple months of food left before it really starts effecting us.
No I can't prove it, I am just passing on information to those who have ears in hopes of helping. I don't think we can ignore this kind of information any more so feel obligated to pass it on. Do what you will with it.

Although I agree the price is up for other reasons. Refer Trucking (refrigerated trailer) business continues to be lucrative off the West coast. I am in supply chain and see it...The real issue is YRC (Yellow Freight) who accounts for over 1/4 of the LTL trucking market of non food. They are on the ropes and showing operating ratios in the negative numbers...translation = deep shit!
I anticipate a government bailout since 1/4 of the capacity disolving would have a tremendous impact on the supply chain.
As a side note...My Air and Ocean export business has increased quite a bit. The Imports are way down.....

Today I went to buy my usual socks
at the usual place. For years there were 3 pairs to a bundle, and the price per bundle went up about $1/year, which averaged out to about 7%/year over the past 8 years. Today there were 2 pairs in the pack, for the same price as the 3 pairs have been. That is a 33% jump.
USDA manipulates facts and figures attempting to keep food
prices from rising. According to this article this will indeed cause a food crisis.

I don't shop much, my wife does that, but last time I went (last week) I saw full shelves. Nothing out of the ordinary.

The grocery stores are still bulging. The stores that have less inventory than in the past 10 years of Christmas seasons are places like Bath and Body Works, Ross, Halmarks, etc.

The amusement park company Cedar Fair was also bought by a glogal company. They own amusement parks all over the country. Apollo Global.

We bought the system about a decade ago when it was still inexpensive and tried it out in a smallish greenhouse of tomatoes. It was amazing. We sprayed the leaves with the organic mixture about once a week, and chirped the plants about 8 hours a day. The tomato plants grew like unto Jack in the Beanstalk. A jungle of tomato plants appeared, and flowered like crazy. We had to go back and read the directions to see why the plants weren't growing their nascent tomatoes, but storing them and flowering more. The directions said to stop chirping the plants, so we did, and then there was an explosion of tomatoes--all the baby tomatoes grew up fast all at once. We harvested over 400 pounds before an early hard freeze on August 26. There were a lot more green tomatoes coming on that froze solid, sadly, and thousands more blossoms.

Right on.
I sent most of the day extracting seeds from heirloom and interesting varieties of tomatoes that I bought this summer and they were in my refrigerator. Drying the seeds to plant out as seedlings to sell, give away and save seed for a "rainy day." Much more interesting and beneficial to rip up your yard and plant veggies and herbs instead of grass. Thanks for the link. :)

Bad crap is happening!
It is the frog thing in the pot. Crime where I live is already on the increase. Two gas station guys took bullets in the head here in Norwalk CT. Pizza guys are being robbed at houses where real people live without their knowledge while they are home. Copper is being stolen from homes. A riot broke out in our local movie complex in Trumbul ct with 100 people Gang People shooting up the place while the civies hit the deck and ran for the exits. how bout a the shooting dead of a rap artist street vender with a TEK-9 in NYC. Evil men will continue to wax worse and worse.
This doesn't normally happen here. The maddness has already started.

You are welcome I will share also that this friend has a lot of contacts in the military and he absolutely believes the time to choose sides is in 30-60 days and they will implement some sort of martial law. I have my own doubts but he is so dead serious I cannot ignore it. So I figure it does not hurt to be prepared and if the time frame is wrong then great we get some more time to prepare.
I do know this the signs are all around us and they will try something sooner or later and we will all be doubting just like we are now and it will go down and we will all be caught off guard. In fact that might even be part of the plan to cry wolf often enough so we all ignore it and then are taken by surprise.
Also when I hear stuff like this about the trucking from someone in the business that is hard evidence.
