Yeah, remember a couple weeks ago on that 70° day I said, that? Yeah, well now I take it back.
Last night it was eight (8) fricken' degrees! And now a "disruptive" snowstorm is headed our way.
I knew I was going to pay for that post. lol.
I'll take global warming over this any day.

Minnesotans for Global Warming
Here in the Twin Cities, we had sort of an "instant winter". We actually got snow in October that stuck for about a day, but hadn't really seen snow until the start of December when that huge storm came in from the West. We went from cold to winter wonderland in a single night.
You know, when I was in K-12, I don't think we ever really got a single snow day. The plows around here are just way too good. There was one day that we got off because it was about -40 degrees outside. I recall talking to one of my friends in Ohio who told me they got the day off because it was 0 degrees out and I just laughed at him. Around here, 0 degrees is just cold. People are wearing a sweatshirt when it is about 30 degrees.
Sounds lke an ice age cometh! But due to warming of course.
Trains stuck in Channel Tunnel as cold weather bites

Four trains have broken down in the Channel Tunnel due to cold weather, as snow is expected to cause further disruption in parts of Britain.
The temperature difference between the cold air and warm tunnel caused the trains to break down, Eurostar said.
Passengers from two of the services have been moved to different trains; the other trains are to be pushed out.
More snow and freezing temperatures are expected for parts of Scotland and south-east and eastern England.
More than 2,000 people were trapped in the tunnel and some of the trains were without heating and lighting.
Two further trains travelling from Brussels and Paris heading for the tunnel were turned back.
Passengers from one of the trains have been taken by shuttle to Folkestone where they are waiting for a train to take them on to London.

You city slickers are such wimps. The last time I was in Massachusetts (at least I hope it was the last time I was in Massachusetts), it was 15 below in Haverhill. Boston was a balmy 5 below. I was attending a painting workshop. I felt real pity for our model, but "Nude With Parka and Mukluks" just doesn't hack it.
We need global warming!

I'm a realtor in Florida and we've been doing our snow dance to revive the market down here! The bigger the snowstorms the better the chances of our recovery, lol!

Embrace at least the first snowstorm.
It's like a frozen fountain of youth falling from the sky.
The years melt away and you remember the anticipation and excitement that snow always brought in childhood with sleds and sliding and snow forts.
Then later slipping, stumbling and sliding down the empty streets, wrestling, and snowball fights drunk in the snow with friends at school.
Or plotting and planning to be snowed in for the weekend with your first real girlfriend while the rest of the world softened and vanished in swirls of white.
And then the circle complete as you stared rapt at the wonder and joy as bright as a star on your child's face in their first snow.
All this, and maybe much more, the gift of the frozen flakes that can somehow warm even the coldest the heart.
