Rand Paul with Judge Napolitano on Glen Beck!

Rand Paul with Judge Napolitano on Glen Beck!

Finally got this on my blog.

Tracy

I

watched all 7 parts...one of the best shows EVER, imo...
I was so surprised that Jesus was honored at the end of Part 7!!!
Did anyone else think that the very interesting "Part 4-global warming scam debunked" was deliberately axed, mid-stream?? The show appeared to go to commercial...and that was "all she wrote"...

I thought they

cut to commercials because the guy that was speaking was really slowing down the flow of the show and putting everyone to sleep.

Term Limits

Has anyone posed this question to Rand?

Since you support term limits you must also be against your father running to re-election.

Isn't this a glaringly obvious observation?

Do you really think preventing Boobus AmericANUS from

returning the same crooks to office year after year will accomplish anything? Boobus will just elect NEW crooks (perhaps showing a preference for the sons of the old crooks).

At Least Then

The lobbyists would have to try and bribe some new people every six years. Right now they get one and he/she is theirs for twenty years.

No one, yes including Ron Paul, is so special they need to stay in Congress for thirty frickin' years. No one is that irreplaceable. Like with Bloomberg in New York City getting the term limits law repealed just for him because he was the "only one who could keep New York going forward."

Term limits only work when....

they apply to everyone. With voluntary term limits, the good people go and the creeps stay.

But Rand already answered that. He said that he supports term limits even if his dad has to come home. Ron Paul also supports term limits.

Good point

And terms limits are good and bad. They are bad when the stop someone like RP from getting reelected. But they are good when they stop somebody like Joe Lieberman from getting reelected.

That was a Really Great Interview

I can't believe some people here support earmarks and oppose term limits. Personally I think some here are so preconditioned from defending Ron Paul on the issue that they can't accept that earmarks are a gigantic waste of money and used for nothing but corruption. Ben Nelson (D-NE) got bought off today to vote for Obamacare by being given ten of millions of dollars in earmarks for his state.

Maybe you need to explain that to Ron Paul.

Here's Ron Paul explaining why we need MORE earmarks, not less.

http://www.ronpaul.com/2009-03-16/more-earmarks-less-governm...

Maybe your should forward it to Rand, too.
Perhaps he's as ignorant as you are on the subject.
It certainly seems so.

I know his Position

And it's probably the only one of Ron Paul's with which I've always disagreed. Congress should NOT be giving millions of dollars to a private company to market their shrimp product:

Should that money have been allocated by bureaucrats?

No, It Shouldn't Be Spent

It's time for a Congress that spends money only on things it's required by the Constitution to spend money on.

I agree

But that won't happen in the near future. In the meanwhile, the government is going to splurge on special interests, no matter what. Ron Paul votes AGAINST all these bills he puts earmarks in. But, if the bill is going to go through, why NOT try to improve a bad situation...why not soften the blow of the thieves? I don't see the fairness in other districts benefiting from earmarks while his gets neglected. Taxpayers will have to pay for the bill; tell me, what is wrong with taxpayers getting some compensation?

The more I see of Rand, the

The more I see of Rand, the less he resembles his father. I wish him the best, but he is not half the man his father is, sad to say.

The Judge

has really built on his constitutional foundation by learning a lot about the free market from the libertarian austrians. He's like an icebreaker clearing a path for freedom through the frozen minds of his Republican listeners. Steady, uncompromising, and unstoppable. I hope he runs for high office someday.

Agreed

These two videos should have separate billing on DP.

The Rand interview made me sick...and hearing the judge's rights discussion settled my stomach.

It is say whatever you have

It is say whatever you have to say to win the election time because we are running out. That hop that is what Rand and Schiff are doing and that they aren't really part of a corralling-plan of the establishment. IOW, rounding up all the scattered masses (aka Libertarians/RP-supporters/etc.). But notice the shift in issues from people like Beck, Hannity, Limbaugh and Judge Napolitano on GB, sudden massive news coverage of Ron Paul, etc. makes me wonder.

You have a very very valid

You have a very very valid point.

The slogan press on has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.

Why isn't the second clip on the frontpage??????

The second clip is one of the best summary's of the libertarian position I have ever seen. (for a mass sound bite orientated audience)

I think it's the judges best piece I have ever seen and I have been following the website since late 2007.

Earmarks? Term Limits?

Pander pander...what next supporting lack of due process for Gitmo inmates?

It's like nails on the blackboard for me

This is the second time I've seen Rand criticizing earmarks. The first time, he was asked what makes him different from his father, and he answered, "I won't earmark." Now MY understanding of this issue is that earmarking is fine; the money's already been allocated for the bill, and earmarks prevent extra funds from going to the Executive Branch to play with. Who needs the money more? Constituents who fund these bills, often against their will, or the government?

Rand is basically incriminating Ron here, distancing himself from his father to try and win support. I don't like it. Have some tact, will you.

It's the neocons who make the big issue

about earmarking, trying to pass themselves off as "fiscal conservatives", when they are fully aware that earmarks do not increase spending levels in the budget. It's a political con game, trying to make themselves look "good", when "not earmarking" does nothing but starve the home districts and empower the Fed Gov with more discretionary spending for war or other fiscal drains, because THAT MONEY IS ALREADY IN THE BUDGET,AND IS GOING TO BE SPENT BY SOMEBODY IF THERE ARE ANY EARMARKS OR NOT. By eschewing earmarks, all it does is provide more money to the discretionary spending account, or "slush fund".

To me, this is simply another nod to the establishment neocons, by Rand, even to the expense of pointing out his father as an "earmarker", whom he doesn't agree with.
Well, I think it's apparent that Rand doesn't agree with Ron on quite alot of things, at this point.
And the more he distances his positions from Ron's, the more he distances himself from me.

I haven't changed my tune. But HE has.

Pseudonym and BigT

I agree with your points - not a good feeling to see this happen this Rand's
pandering for votes to the GOP hard core base...

I will still support Rand but I suspend all work for him no more Rand posts from me - I prefer to focus my activism on helping other Liberty candidates like Jake Towne and Kokesh.

Well said!

I share your opinions exactly here.

pandering?

how is supporting term limits pandering?

are you accusing Rand of lying?

Pandering is distinct from lying

But now that you mention it given the track record of those who hav promised term limits in the past the odds that he is lying or that it will turn into a lie are pretty darn good.

Earmarks are people getting some of their money back from Congress...grante they shouldn't have it in the first place but better my rep spend it then the Executive branch.

Y'all are right it is a neocon redherring...smoke and mirrors..."watch this hand..."

our own soldiers are tried by military tribunals

do enemy combatants deserve better treatment than american soldiers?

Better treatment such as imprisonment for years,

being waterboarded 183 times in 30 days, death by torture...is that the 'better treatment' of which you speak?

rand opposes torture!

so if had his way, the military tribunals won't waterboard
