Why are posts being deleted?
We had a nice discussion going on in the thread about Rand Paul entitled:
"Roll Call! How many did not donate on account of Rand Paul's Gitmo Comments"
However, it was deleted by someone and now there is no access.
How ironic is it for someone to play the thought police on this site!

Just as with any private property, he may do with it as he wishes. Stay within his guidelines for use and you should be fine. And no, no one has the right to be heard through this forum other than the website owner, including me. Use of Mr Nystroms property is a privilege only.

Somebody who worships at the shrine of diversity started a thread here one day, and after I put my comments in the whole post was locked or deleted. I thought that was really "odd" for a place like the dailypaul.

Fair enough that you have to delete "offensive" remarks, but how about just deleting the offending updates so that people can leave their unoffensive remarks?
Perhaps some people don't like to read what I write, but it seems pointless for anyone to spend time intellectualizing debate into comments if they are just going to be deleted.
The main point of the current thread was to find out what happened in the old thread. I repeated what I posted on the other thread here because it is the only evidence I have of the other thread (which had lots of good comments from many people on it!). I liked a lot of what I was reading within the comments on that thread, and I was looking forward to coming back to it because people wrote about the current situation in a way that almost started to help me reconcile my own apprehensions.
To find the removal of all that progress was disappointing. I do agree that it is ironic to see deleting of posts here at the daily paul, but perhaps we are not fully aware of the magnitude of the problem. However in my opinion, the thread that was recently deleted seemed very tame and informative. I didn't see anything offensive at all, and although I don't know the whole story, I don't see why the good comments were also deleted.

There are many reasons to close Guantanimo and give trials to these so-called terrorists. The chief reason is the golden rule: do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
I'm sorry but I just cannot compromise on this issue. These people have been tortured for years, and it isn't right to keep the center of torture open while continuing a charade of justice.
The world is watching. We have been embarassed by the injustice of permanent detention and torture without trial, centered at Guantanimo. Similar injustices were the behind the reasons we fought the revolutionary war to found our country. I will only support those who understand this and will work to remedy the situation instead of debating legalise.
I spoke with Rand about this in January 2008 in New Hampshire during operation live free or die, and he was in agreement. Now, it appears he has changed his mind to try and blur a line to get elected.
It is ok for someone to change their mind, but I will only stand with those who stand by their principles.
Since New Hampshire, I have personally converted thousands of people to the cause for peace and liberty. However, the statements about Guantanimo and Afghanistan made on Rand's website go against everything I have fought for. Therefore, until an official and clear statement about Guantanimo, torture, prisoner's rights, and the war in Afghanistan is made by Rand's campaign, I will withhold any support whatsoever.

as one of the moderators here I saw no problem with that particular thread but perhaps another mod noticed a number of comments there to be divisive and the thread leading us to nothing good.
my personal opinion is that Rand just wants to win and therefore uses some "smart politics" to gain some extra votes from hard core GOP members in KY.
politics is a dirty game...
anyways I still support Rand but chose to campaign for others Kokesh Jake Towne RJ Harris and other lesser known Liberty candidates.
