GAZA - One Year On
Submitted by paulus08 on Sun, 12/27/2009 - 05:52Today exactely one year ago Israel started it's onslaught against the people of Gaza known as "Operation Cast Lead" aka "The Gaza Massacre". During the three weeks of heavy bombardments and ground incursions more than 1,400 Palestinians were killed, most of them civilians, 348 of them under the age of 18.
A year went by but little has changed on the ground; Gaza still lies in ruins because the Israelis won't allow materials into Gaza neccessary for rebuilding. The Siege has not been lifted, not even for one day. As a result, living conditions have been deterriorating but yet the 'civilized' world remains silent on the Injustice that is taking place in the Holy Land.
I hope there will be lots of events today in rememberance of what happened, I am doing my part by bringing this one year anniversary to the attention of people here on Daily Paul. I hope we can have a civilized discussion about this sensitive subject, because civilization is what this world needs more than ever in 2010.
Happy Hollidays to all of you!
