Cannabis Regrows Neurons: Studies...

It has been known for years that Cannabis, or Marijuana, can bring an Alzhiemers patient back from dementia.

That is why one of the medical conditions it is legal for in states that have medical marijuana laws is Alzhiemers.

Someone Called me a Jackass for Actually being informed that Cannabis Cures EVERY KIND OF CANCER AND REGROWS NEURONS.

Marijuana Boosts Brain Cell Growth
Good News For The Medical Marijuana Movement: Pot Proliferates Brain Cells And Boosts Mood
ScienceDaily (Oct. 14, 2005) — Most drugs of abuse decrease the generation of new neurons in the brain, but the effects of marijuana on this process, called neurogenesis, had not been clear.
In a paper appearing online on October 13 in advance of print publication of the November issue of the Journal of Clinical Investigation, Xia Zhang and colleagues from University of Saskatchewan show that a potent and synthetic cannabinoid promotes neurogenesis. This drug also exerts anti-anxiety and antidepressant-like effects.

The researchers suggest that there is a positive correlation between increased adult neurogenesis and modified behavior following chronic cannabinoid treatment. These data expand the existing knowledge about the positive roles cannabinoids and their receptors play in brain processing and medicine. Moreover, cannabinoids are perhaps the only illicit drug that can enhance adult neurogenesis and subsequently modify behavior.

Reference: Cannabinoid promotes embryonic and adult hippocampus neurogenesis and produces anxiolytic- and antidepression-like effects. J. Clin. Invest. 115: 3104-3116 (2005). doi:10.1172/JCI25509.

People who use cannabis / all things being equal have more BRAINS than those who don't.

If they don't fill those brains with knowledge that is another story.

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

Once you let big brother lord over you

and tell you what you can and cannot eat, smoke, drink
before long he's RUNNING YOUR LIFE. WAKE UP AND GROW UP PEOPLE !! It's YOUR LIFE time to stop asking mommy and daddy for permission and telling them, to mind their own damn business. We want Hemp and marijuana out of government and politics and in the market where it can heal and help. HASH oil (marijuana resin) cures cancer.
Hemp oil is a clean renewable fuel. WAKE UP !!

Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow

Hemp oil...

for those who haven't heard about the what I think is explosive news about this medicine...check out www.phoenixtears.ca. It's Rick Simpson's website. He's the Canadian fellow who discovered hemp oil's super-medicinal properties just a few years back.

hemp seeds

if you haven't tried them--you must
can eat them as a snack, put it on cereal, cook with them
they have a peanut taste but much better
we love them
they come from Canada

In response to all of the 'vehement' people against legalization

Paul should have just said : "Well, then they can vote that way in their state elections."

He really did handle this well though.

States responsibilities to decide such things alone...

are the only way individual rights can be preserved for the non-drug user/abuser as well.

It's past time to stop the, "if it don't work, name a new czar, and throw more money at it" approach. It has wrecked havoc on our Life, Liberty, and most often Property, where they get the money to throw at it.

Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them. - Frederick Douglass

Typical idiot level CNN interrogation

When was the last time you saw a video interview in the
MSM, when some smug "media darling" made a controversial comment and the interviewer slipped in some professional hack to contradict the interviewee? Need I remind you of Larry's King's questioning of Mitt Romney over Ben Bernake?
Also, keep in mind, the professional hack makes his living by illegally (according to the Constitution) regulating drugs.
These people are lucky hypocrisy doesn't draw the death penalty.

Behold! Paul vast political prowess is astounding!

Paul's response in this video is a good example of how Paul plays politics around certain sensitive subjects.

He basically says "Hey, MJ is not a federal issue, it is a states issue...thus the federal government should not have any laws about drugs of any sort."

But really, he is a libertarian...and they pretty much believe people should be legally allowed to do what ever they want as long as it doesn't harm someone else...and that means no drug restriction laws at all (federal, state, local, etc).

Paul simply won't say this because it is politically damaging so he hides behind the 'it's a state thing' stance. Ditto for prostitution.

Don't get me wrong, Paul has tons of guts, but he chooses his battles wisely. If people really became more freedom-loving than security-loving, Ron Paul would be happy to take off the kid gloves.

BTW: Paul never wears the kid gloves when voting!!!!!!

Some interesting observations...

But is it wise to not be fully honest on the issue + beat around the bush by saying it's a states-rights issue?

I know he would probably get a lot of flack from the neo-cons if he started publicly saying that people have a natural right to ingest whatever type of substance they want because they own their own bodies. But, is that necessarily a bad thing? Isn't attack often to be expected when speaking a resisted-truth?

Also, even tho one group (neo-cons) will hate him more, other groups will start to like him more (ie. young people who know that drug prohibition is a fraud).

Man, sensitive topic,

He doesn't want to come out and say "yes, people own their bodies and thus have a right to ingest whatever type of substance they want."

Instead he is couching it in the weak "states rights" rhetoric.
I think he needs to do the former and take the flak that comes from it.

I disagree

The Constitutional argument for legalization is much stronger than the moral argument in this situation. You'd get much more resistence from people if you used your first example than you would from your second.

And I think the Dr. knows that once the federal government considers marijuana LEGAL, the states will likely follow.

I'm not sure about that

You'd get much more resistence from people if you used your first example than you would from your second.

You think so? Myself, I think it depends on groups.

The neo-cons would find the first Constitutional argument slightly more palatable (but they probably still resist it). However, when it comes to young people, are they going to be enthused to hear that the decision to prosecute a war on drugs is a decision for state politicians to make? Myself, I don't think so. I don't think they care much about Constitutional technicalities when it comes to this issue...they just know the war on drugs is a fraud and they want it ended.

I think young people would be very enthused to hear Ron say that people own their bodies and thus have a right to ingest any type of substance, plant, food, etc that they want. And wouldn't we rather gain more young people even if that means further alienating the neo-cons? I think so.
