The forum, she's not working so good.

FYI, Webmaster.

1. Since the site came back after the outage, pages on Daily Paul can take ten to 30 seconds to load. There is a long delay before the page begins to display.

2. For a while there, I saw voting feature for articles, 1 to 5 stars. Now the stars are gone.

3. The line of blue drop-down menu buttons near the top is a jumbled mess.

I'm running Firefox on Windows XP Pro, both the latest and greatest.

UPDATE: The stars came back, and the blue drop-downs are behaving now. Maybe someone is fiddling with it. It's still slow. Sometimes it just spins seemingly forever, like after I hit the "save" button for this message. I had to close the tab and load the DP home page from the URL command line.

just be patient please

Hi all.

We've been working on the site trying to get it stable. There's many settings to configure to get the best performance and each time you make a change, you need to wait to see if it helped or not.

The new server has tons of ram and is very fast, it's just not fully tuned yet. It will be rock solid soon! We are preparing for the future and much growth as the next election cycle starts up.

New server is running Dual QUAD-CORE CPU's with 32GB ram! I will put MySQL on a dedicated machine if I have to. It will be fast. It will be stable.

take it easy folks. Give time a little time. I'm sure the people dedicated to liberty and this site are working hard to make it the best possible. In the meanwhile, bring problems to attention and relax.

Why no place to reply or add comment....

on some threads?

I love the new site!

I've had very few speed issues, even on an old Powerbook G4. The only glitch I've noticed is the white page after submitting a post. Give it some time people, Michael does this out of the goodness of his heart!

$#@% Murphy's Law

Of course as soon as I say good things the site starts acting up for me too... Pages taking a looooong time to load. I still stand by what I said though, we appreciate what you do greatly Michael.

Hosting

When I offered to host the site, we didn't know really what the requirements of the upgrade would be. We are going to have to move the site to a 64bit OS which I'm working on now. We have plenty of memory, it's just the current OS, is 32bit and can only handle 4GB ram max, which the site runs out of memory.

Please be patient. This site has a lot of requirements to make it run smoothly. On average, there's close to 8,300 queries per second on the MySQL server.

Thanks for the update. Yes,

Thanks for the update. Yes, we DP'ers are active and I've always guessed that we hit this site pretty hard at times.

Peace out and Happy New Year!

All the problems mention above still are here and not only that, on my computer now the dailypaul is backwards. Everything is backwards. the forums are on the left me typing this comment is backwards. I cant even comment unless its a reply. and its not just my computer ive tried 4 different ones now. Im afraid i have to say fairwell to dailypaul, the transformation killed it. I am on my way to becoming a ronpaulforums guy. I dont want to but this website is totally screwed. 6000 dollars down the toilet.

Confirming pokey loading times

And the occasional "Cannot connect to server, try again" messages today.

Another note: Initially I had to shrink the page because it was spilling off the edge and I couldn't see everything I was used to, but that appeared to be resolved fairly quickly and I am back to my old viewing settings.
