Update: Flagged by the FBI...!!!

For the Hell of it, I applied for a Census worker job, and because I am a Veteran I get extra points on my test. I scored a 104%! A week later I got a letter in the mail saying I can NOT have the job because I am flagged by the FBI. I dont have any idea right now why but I will find out!

Update, On the 21st of January I filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the FBI. I will know within 20 Business days

Today, 25FEB10
I got a letter in the mail that says "Your Freedom of Information/Privacy Acts (FOIPA) request is being returned. Your letter did not contain sufficient information to conduct an accurate search of the central Records System."
They require Full name, current address, date of birth, place of birth, and daytime telephone number. Im my letter I sent them, it had all that information including my SS number. So I will fill out this again and drop it in the mail tomorrow and wait another month for thier reply! I will keep you all updated.

Update: 12MAR10
I recieved a confirmation letter in the mail today that says I will get another letter with what I requested. They waste so much money and time! In the letter there are 2 of 6 boxes checked
Box 1 " This acknowledges receipt of your Freedom of Information-Privace Acts request to the FBI. The FOIPA number listed above has been assigned to your request."
Box 6 " We are searching the indices to our Central Records System for the information you requested, and will inform you of the results as soon as possible"

I will keep you all updated and suggest that all you send one out too!

Your application was likely filled out with far too few mistakes, erase marks, and misspellings.

You seem capable of not only thinking for yourself, but also capable of constructing a sentence.

I'll bet the FBI has flagged anyone who isn't a mindless drone as unfit for government work.

(In case it wasn't obvious, that was sarcasm)

A friend of mine from CA signed up to be a Census worker and hasn't heard from them. I told him he probably scored too high and should now expect the FED's to come and question him (as a joke).

They know exactly what they are doing. This is about wasting your time, hoping you give up. That means they know you are in the right and are hoping to make the kinds of mistakes that they can just say "oops" over when they are called on it. I've been there a million times and it does get tiresome so it must accomplish the goal in a lot of cases.
