On users' account pages, what does the "Friends" category mean here?
Submitted by Jiminy Cricket on Thu, 12/31/2009 - 04:55I clicked on "Forward to friends" to see what it meant and it added the person whose page I was on to some kind of friends list.
Not sure what that is about. Since we can already see each other's pages showing recent forum posts and comments, I take it that it doesn't serve the same purpose as on facebook where someone has to be designated a friend to be able to see things like that.
Has anyone used this function yet, or does anyone at least know what it's for?
(Since I don't know what the function/purpose of the friends thing here is yet, I clicked the delete option that then came up. So if the person whose page I was on when I clicked that can see that activity, please don't take offense for the deletion. I should've asked what it was all about before clicking that 'forward' option in the first place.)

I think it might update you when your "friend" makes a new post.
If you're a fan of a certain DPer, it might send you an email when they've submitted new content.
Just a guess.
Ron Paul "Sign Wave Across the USA" -- November 5th!
That was something that crossed my mind.
On facebook when someone comments on an item after I have commented, it sends an email notification. I don't use facebook much, so it's not overwhelming. But with a lot of posting, I could see a problem of inbox flooding with that kind of arrangement.
Thanks for the guess.
It is Called the Social Feature
Used by secret societies and groups of perverts to rule over us and we call master. The reason Alleister Crowley had a job.
This feature is really popular around fascists, communists, and democrats. Please join my group. Keep looking, it is there somewhere.

I tried adding you
thought it might give a list of latest post from friends but it seems to just list you. I think I removed you. No offense just don't want to use it till I know what or how it works.
I would like to be able to follow someone and get a list of only their New Original post but not all the comments.

Thanks sharpsteve.
I didn't notice any posts, either, of the person whom I had added. Just them being listed at the bottom of my page with the delete option.
...and no offense taken. I did the same thing because I don't know what this friend thing entails.
