The Ninth District - not your average district

The Ninth District court is often considered out of step with the other Federal courts. Sometimes this is good, and sometimes it's bad (from our point of view).

It does sometimes get overturned or the other districts don't agree. (California is about 10 years ahead of the country, after all.)

This is certainly a good development. Head hitting pavement is not good. What the cop did was assault.

This is such common sense I'm dismayed it took this long to happen. Police aren't there to "punish" law breakers and assaulting someone who is not a threat to you is so criminal ... ugh.

I still remember seeing video of police putting pepper spray on Q-tips and rubbing it in hippies' eyes to get them to unlink their hands (which were inside pipes) so they could drag them out of a building. I wonder how that turned out?
