Rand Paul raises nearly $650,000 in fourth quarter
By Steve Adcock ⋅ January 1, 2010 ⋅

Kentucky senatorial candidate Rand Paul is celebrating more than respectable fund raising efforts as his fourth quarter money totals reached $646,000. None of Paul’s opponents have released their fund raising results as of today.

Rand Paul, son of Texas Representative Ron Paul, has hinged his candidacy on the principles of small government. Paul said that career politicians have sold taxpayers down the river and has promised to cut spending and hold those in power accountable in a press conference late this week.

“Career politicians of all stripes and all persuasions have sold us down the river. They’ve offered us false promises, illusions. They’ve offered us the notion that a country can maintain its wealth and maintain its greatness while continuing to spend more than it takes in.”

Kentucky taxpayers have clearly taken to his message, as evidenced by Paul’s fund raising accomplishments throughout his campaign. In fact, Paul out raised all of his opponents in the third quarter and holds a substantial lead according to local polling.

As of this writing, the Kentucky senatorial hopeful has raised more than $1,768,000.
