Seriously?

Really?

Glamorizing murder... YEAH US!

Get paid in salt!

Sieg heil!

Oh wait, I though this was a propaganda film from the 40s.

"The national guard" is illegal and needs to be immediately dismantled. The supposed "good' it does is far overshadowed by its potential to enslave the population.

Posse Comitatus anyone?

I used to joke and say that the only thing left in this dead republic I was proud of was our ability to militarily kill people. Now this video took that away too. How embarrassing.

Hey impoverished "united statians" Join the legion! The empire of the banking oligarchs need you. Get paid in salt!

That’s what slaves are supposed to look like.

My brother is in the Army and just received a mandatory H1N1 vaccine. Here’s the scoop: They call it voluntary, but if you choose not to then you have to report to your commanding officer. If you continue to reject the shot after your commanding officer gives you a verbal ass raping then you will be ex-communicated by all of your fellow soldiers because anybody who even talks to you is subject to extra field work. You can choose to live like shit for the rest of your contract, or take the shot and let your commanding officer get that much closer to the next rank........that is how our boys are living in the military these days

The role of a farmer, in Fukuoka's mind, is an observer, not an intervener, of the natural order in his/her particular landscape. How is that any different than Hayek in regards to Economics?

Thanks for the realistic update

My daughter is a college grad and having a hard time finding work. The other side of the family is urging her to join the navy. Oh we laughed hard on christmas over that, but they are serious. And opportunities are dwindling......

I hate how sloppy and weak US

I hate how sloppy and weak US soldiers look nowadays.

Anyway, what's the big deal about this ad. The US military ads have always been Joe Camel'ish.

The National Guard; Defenders of the Republic

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this ad and NOTHING wrong with our National Guard or the men and women who join it. If you have a problem with the NWO and our government's participation in it, then reserve your anger for those truly responsible for our involvement with it…THE CONGRESS. Without the National Guard there would be NO REPUBLIC in the first place because there would have been no way to kick the British out or to kick them out a second time when they came back in 1812. Without the National Guard the Republic would have failed in 1862. Without the National Guard we could not have defeated the Germans or the Japanese in WWII. I admit it is the case there have been other less than fortunate endeavors involving the National Guard but I recall that the Guard does what Congress tells it to. Remember that when you start arguing with me about the Guard winning the Spanish American War. How many of you in this forum are ready to give up the second amendment because some Citizens have used guns for nefarious reasons? ME NEITHER! Those of you complaining in this thread sound like a bunch of liberals complaining about GUNS rather than the people that misuse them.

The Soldiers of the National Guard are heroes and their service to this Republic is the stuff of legend. We owe the very existence of this Republic to the National Guard. So, if you have a problem with the National Guard or with my service in the National Guard or with me being a war veteran, then please refrain from supporting me or my campaign. But know this, when I am in Congress I will fight beside Ron Paul to ensure that the Guard is NOT used to police the world or in contrivance to the Constitution on my watch and if you are not completely assured of that by now then you have not been paying attention.

(The only thing I don't like about this ad is the gaudy music. However, I am informed that the target audience for this ad are those playing World of Warcraft and other MMORGs who have to listen to similar soundtracks while they quest.)

This is what I don't understand.

Why can't we point out the negatives of what is happening in the military without being dumped on as unpatriotic or being labeled unsupportive of the soldier. WE ARE THE ONLY ONES, thinking of the soldiers if you ask me.

NO one else is willing to bring up the horrible things that the soldiers are going through, dying for a corporate advertisement of lies. The ad states that the "mission is priority one". That is scary thought, it brings to mind "War for Oil and Poppy fields" Disarming homeowners after Katrina.

If all is well in the military, why are so many committing suicide. The young people bought into the advertising lies. These young people have a case for a lawsuit, this ad is false advertising. Gen. Smedley Butler book sums it up best "War is a Racket. Of course we NEED a National Guard, but until people in and out of the service admit there are problems then those problems will never be fixed. Shouldn't we be joining forces to expose the corrupt so the good and noble can take their place.

Seeing as we are currently in soft fascism as Ron Paul has said I am more fearful of my own National Guard than other countries invading, the police state is a real and looming threat. I see the only way of changing things is to boycott recruiting offices "career centers" and dry up their source of "cannon fodder" for the elite.

I support the soldier, not the Corporate Military Industrial Complex.

Clearly from your comments, I

need to explain my "horror".

The leaders of the nation have been shredding and burning the Constitution and Bill of Rights for decades. They see no use for such an old and useless document, and don't allow it to hinder them in their move toward dictatorship. Basically these documents are OBSOLETE in the society we currently live in, and under the government officials that we now have. The individual, in the nation we have now, has NO protection of his God given rights in any of the branches of government any more, as even the COURTS are thowing the Constitution and Bill of Rights under the bus if the issue they address is for "the greater good".

Via the use of "administrative law" and "presidential decrees" and unconstitutional laws passed in Washington, we are no longer allowed to enjoy our God given rights to free speech, private property, right of assembly, etc. They have ELIMINATED these rights little by little over the past 50 or so years. The country is NO LONGER OPERATED under the protection of our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

But, these same government officials want young people to go and fight to "defend" these same (non-existent) documents that define these rights, just so that the rulers can line their pockets and grow their power. Many in the government own shares of "war making" companies and grow richer and richer with each new war. And our individual liberties are hacked away with each new incident. So the "wars" are, in fact a huge contributing factor in this burning of the country's founding documents. (And the National Guard is now being used OVERSEAS to aid in these illegal and unwarranted wars, rather than for their initial purpose of defending the GEOGRAPHICAL area of the United States).

I am all for defending the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. And I would like nothing better than for young people to be educated in the philosophy of freedom so that they might fight (perhaps in state MILITIAS) to REINSTATE these documents as the founding principles of life in the U.S. But to seduce young people to fight for the profit of the "evil ones"..... under the GUISE of fighting for something that no longer exists, is, in my opinion, a very cruel joke.

And, you make my point on the target audience for these ads in your statement "the target audience for this ad are those playing World of Warcraft and other MMORGs who have to listen to similar soundtracks while they quest".

What I find horrifying, in that I have children and grandchildren, is that I know the weak areas of young people. They are growing and confused and easily manipulated. They have a desperate desire to "belong" and "become their own person" and break away. This ad is specifically aimed at taking that feeling of being lost, and "filling the hole" with the meaning of belonging to something noble and EXCITING. And it WOULD be something noble, if the country was actually as it is portrayed.... a Constitutional Republic which protects our God given rights.

This ad is aimed ENTIRELY at these "young skulls full of mush". It doesn't show the horrors that they will encounter. It doesn't (of course) tell them the truth about the realities of military life. It makes it all look grand and fun and gets those hormones rushing.

And MOST particularly, now that the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are essentially non-existent anymore..... to make a young person feel they are fighting to "preserve" something that is a virtual fantasy in the modern world, is merely trying to lure them into giving up their lives, their health and their sanity..... for a dream..... or worse... to line the pockets of the evil ones with their own blood.

Believe me, I LONG for the day that the United States can say that it actually lives up to the philosophy on which it was founded. But until that day comes, I am entirely opposed to young people joining the GOVERNMENT military forces. Since (at the very least) the days of Vietnam, the government has treated our military personnel with apathy and distain. They cut their benefits and deny them coverage, many times for diseases caused by the very government that asked them to join.

I hope you do well in your campaign. I believe you truly are a "Liberty" candidate and wish to reinstate a government of laws meant to protect the individual. I think our disagreement is merely our outlook on how the government is USING its military in THIS day and age.

Well Stated Elviejo,

Thank you for this well articulated clarification. Please be reassured that there are MANY NG Soldiers quietly taking the "Oath Keepers" pledge and that we can count on the NG to Defend the People and the Republic. What we need to turn to now is making sure we elect a Congress that we can count on to do the same and to NOT misuse our Citizen Soldiers. I have opined at length that our peacetime military should be comprised nearly exclusively of the National Guard…Citizen Soldiers/Airmen/Seamen who will be very reluctant to misuse force on behalf of a misguided executive. (notwithstanding the Navy and Marines which are Constitutionally established as the Republic's robust and intentionally visible "outer" defenses) Armies of active duty soldiers/airmen/seamen should only ever be raised, as the founders intended, to fight constitutionally declared wars and appropriation for their expense routinely re-evaluated every two years that such wars continue. (Article I Sec 8)

Yes, it is politically incorrect for me to come in here and draw this line in the sand what with my money bomb just announced…but I will not have people donating money to my campaign only to be let down when they find out that I will not hold to their soldier bashing.

Praise the valiant Defenders of the Republic; punish the Congress that uses them unconstitutionally and these undeclared wars and world police actions will immediately cease to enjoy U.S. involvement.

I find it somewhat amusing

that the people who are most upset about this National Guard ad are the ones who were waiting with bated breath to see a movie about blue humanoids flying around on gigantic pterodactyl-like birds (Avatar).

* I'm just going by the ads that I have seen for the Avatar movie - I haven't seen it, and don't plan to *

Horrifying? Indeed!

Reality check, anyone?

THE MORE I LEARN ABOUT GOVERNMENT

FourWindsTradingPost

We will be viewing more and more of these type of commercials...

over the next few years until the NWO implements "Martial Law". The psychological indoctrination will steadily increase in scope. Our response as a nation to such indoctrination will continue to diminish with each passing day. Our sense of right and wrong has and will continue to steadily be blurred. Either we very quickly wake up and snap out of this perpetual altered conciousness we as a nation, as a global community, are doomed.

Clever

Among dozens of things in this propaganda piece I wanted to comment on the use of the word comrade.

I thought this was unusual because it has such strong echoes to the cold war, and messages a Soviet-level obligation to country and the military unit over a more western notion of obligation to self or the family unit. I thought the use of the word was effective based on the age of the target audience. To them the word carries only its Hollywood meaning. I think everything in this piece was thought out that carefully.

There's a PhD thesis in deconstructing everything in clips like this one. Government as savior. Masculinity. Adulthood. Paternalism. Earning respect, and coercing family respect. Values by force. For the trillions we spend the military is now delivering world class recruitment marketing. Expert psychiatrists meet expert marketers and this is the result.

I also liked the closing... "Find us on Facebook."

Which should read, "We'll find YOU on Facebook."

YEP

Purely child pornography.

I love how the YouTube comments are censored.

Ron Paul "Sign Wave Across the USA" -- November 5th!

They should just come right

They should just come right out and say it.
The US is going for complete and total control of the entire planet's oil resources for the benefit of the wealthy elite of the world. You're either with us or against us. There, that wasn't so difficult to say, was it?

I think of the US as the Marines in Avatar against the indigenous Iranians.

When war = peace as it does

When war = peace as it does now, failure is an option. Just like failure at the Copenhagen climate summit was the option we choose.

NG not useless

ok believe it or not i know many NG soldiers who don't sit around and do nothing all day. I know quite a few who are deployed who do actually do those things in the video. National guard and reserves do a lot more than you guys think they do and so do reserves. I was Regular Army and I found myself wishing I had gone reserves a couple times.

...Then they came for me —
and by that time no one was left to speak up.

-Pastor Martin Niemöller

Saw this in front of Avatar

The irony...

As a side note, this video needs a disclaimer from the NG. The likelihood you will be doing any of the things featured in the trailer are next to none. The guard is essentially a useless institution that is a waste on the States they occupy. Most of its members are made up of former active duty retired who have medical profiles that render them ineffective in any kind of combat or duty beyond pencil whipping each other to higher and higher ranks.

The irony . . .

For those of you who have not yet seen Avatar, this needs to be explained: Avatar absolutely NAILS the military-industrial complex as the epitome of evil. The climax of the film is a battle between the alien world's admirable indigenous people and the villainous human military . . . and the music used to background the scene is very much like that used in the NG ad. Really superb irony.

I wanna kill, I wanna Kill,

I wanna kill, I wanna Kill, I want to see blood, gore and guts and veins in my teeth. deep dead burnt bodies, I mean Kill , Kill, Kill. I started jumping up and down yelling Kill ,Kill, Kill, They started jumping up and down with me yelling Kill, Kill Kill. We were both jumping up and down yelling Kill, Kill, Kill. Then a man came over pinned a medal on my chest sent me down the hall and said " you're our boy" and I didn't feel to good about it.
except from Alice's Restaurant, Doctor Paul's favorite song.
The only good I see with our military is they take a lot of serial killers off of the streets. Some people are born with warrior spirits, I am not one, They like to kill, they need to kill, the problem is our military uses these warriors to kill the wrong people.
Peace

Anybody else notice that half

Anybody else notice that half the folks portrayed in this commercial aren't even NG? And that half the things done aren't things the NG is tasked with doing? Talk about a pile of crap. All they want is more warm, minimally disciplined bodies.
