NECN Investigates: Salvation Army spends millions on homes.

If the Salvation Army does this with their charitable donations, you can just imagine what other charities and foundations are doing with their charitable givings.

I have always respected the SA

and still do. They help a lot of people. I donate (and sometimes shop) in their stores. Some good deals can be found there. Not as often as years ago but still a few great items if you care to rummage around. The money for bought items also go into the SA bank account.
My only concern with the SA in our town is that they have become "entangled" with the government Social Services. In years past a person could go to the SA for help with food, furniture, clothes, transportation, etc. Lately, in order to qualify, one has to have previously qualified through Social Services to recieve any clothing or furniture items and have to bring a "voucher" to get any items. Don't know about the food distribution qualifications. I really wish they had not become entangled with the government and remained a private organization.

I was with the Special Forces of the Salvation Army....

Rhodesia. '77.
Saw a lot of action.

I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...

Don't worry be happy

First of all MOST Salvation Army workers deserve to live in CASTLES with the bullshat they put up with.

Secondly, in every large organization there are abuses.
But if they're working for God He disciplines them. i.e. These folks who justify the $800K house try to say it's an investment... well I think they're full of shit because they bought that house at the top of the market. So much for their"investment". And it didn't look like a great property.

Milton Hershey school in Pennsylvania provides 5 star living quarters and food services to their house parents. But they provide the most excellent homelife and education on the planet to kids from broken homes and orphans.

"GINO" = Government In Name Only

After 9/11 I remember some

After 9/11 I remember some stories like this one, but they were about the Red Cross. Supposedly, the head of the Red Cross was making half a million dollars per year. Compare that to the head of the United Way who was paid something along the lines of $15,000 per year.

...

hmmm . . .

I donate food to my local Salvation Army--

I'm not in a big city, though--

I always see a lot of sad-looking people in there eating--

to me that says that someone is getting help; that is good enough for me.

I don't think that it's very 'nice' for these people to live in big homes, but then I feel that way about a lot of people who 'take'--

I'll let God judge; in the meantime I have felt good about taking food in--

and it makes me feel dismayed to think there isn't a place where I can help--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

It's hard for charities to compete with government

The IRS regulations alone could put them out of business. This is why they have to get big. Small charity can't afford the record-keeping.

No shocker here

Someone pop on over to the Salvation Army in Ponca City OK...The lodge manager is a lil NAZI drunk..who is suppose to be going to AA..but funny thing..we saw him at a local casino...in the Osage...drinking beer.
The Social Director..doesnt have a clue anymore wtf shes doing...and they try to make you lie to say you have a drug problem..when you dont..if you want to stay..(at 40.00wk for bad food..a cot..and the lil NAZI freaking on you if you dont bend over and kiss his ass)
The woman who handles the accounts,..you can tell shes headed for a higher gov.job..she 'misplaced' about 10,000.00....

I believe in Hope & Change..I Hope the government will Change

don't quit all

Please don't donating to all of them.
I volunteer at a small one-that gives to anyone that comes in the door asking for help. You can only receive 1 time in 3 yrs. Everything/everyone is donated/volunteered accept the manager, she gets paid 8.50 hr.
ex)Single mom comes in w/children she gets furniture/clothes/food/rent/utilities/fuel money.
Enough of what she needs to get started.
No ?? are asked on financial-amazingly it is not an abused system. You can tell the ones that need it.
The greatest joy of working there, is the relief on the persons face, when you get to help load their vehicle.
So not all are bad.

A note on the big ones. I take over for the manager when she is on vacation. We have a list we can give the persons for the other places in town to contact.
This pertains to HERE, not sure anywhere else
GOODWILL will NOT give a DIME or free clothing
Salvation army will pay small amt on electricity in winter only, and give them a blanket and coat.

It's my view

that these large charity organizations have been infiltrated by NWO types, with fancy qualifications from large corporations or the gov't, and then they taint them with behaviors like this, in order to squash the public's faith in charitable and voluntary organizations.
Then, the public gets disgusted with them, and leans more on forced gov't re-distribution programs, which empower the gov't even further.

It needs to be remembered that "the beast" has alot of tentacles, which reach into all facets of life, to achieve the goals it wants.

This is silly.

These are modest homes. It's just a shame those homes cost so much. There's nothing wrong with a minister living in a middle class home. Who is this Eisenberg to go around surveilling the religion of others anyway?

outrageous

never really trusted that org.

“We have allowed our nation to be over taxed and over regulated and overrun by bureaucrats, the founders would be ashamed of us for what we're putting up with.” Ron Paul

What I take offense to is their attitude. These guys who

are 'majors' in the Sally Ann seem to think what they receive as compensation is modest compared to Exxon and Enron. Well I don't believe that this fulfills the SA mission statement.

I would think when people give these capital donations in their wills towards 'real estate' they are imagining the real estate will house the homeless, certainly NOT provide luxurious homes for officers that even the donors on the street can't even afford. This is outrageous. This is fraud.

And good for those news guys that reported this!

I want my dollar back that I gave at Christmas!

When you give money to an organized charity

about 80% goes for administration cost and 20% goes to the actual charity. See how some of the CEO and directors of these "charities" make a six figure income.

I think people should stop

I think people should stop giving to all charities and churches to put pressure on the whole system. I give cash directly to the homeless, I do a better job distributing the cash than organized charities do.

I needed some help years ago

Went through the paper maze to get my food. Went to pick it up and noticed across the hall a big table laid out with tons of meat and food.
Got home and looked in my bag. It was nothing but dried beans. I brought it back and told them they could keep it.
