The next 24 hours are crucial for Peter Schiff - Help out here
Dodd has been in power for 30 years. This is huge news in CT that he is stepping down. Everyone there will be reading some kind of article on the internet about Dodd tomorrow. Many of them will check the comment section. We need to flood the comment boxes and get Peter's name out there and what he stands for and how he is the true champion of freedom.
For most people in Connecticut, this will be the first thought they have given to their upcoming Senate race. If they get the impression that Peter is a strong, viable candidate (which he is), they will lend his candidacy more credibility and be more apt to research him more. It's not just benefiting Peter, but liberty in general. Let's take advantage of this unlikely opportunity and get Peter's name out there, especially in the local CT online newspapers!

I want Peter Schiff
I would like to see Peter Schiff win and do support him. It was great to hear that Dodd was dropping out. Unfortunately at the same time now that Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal is in the race it's going to be really tough for Peter. He is extremely liked in the State. I won't say that Peter doesn't have a chance but the stakes just got a lot higher.

Is Peter Schiff a Neocon?
I love Peter Schiff's economic positions, and even kicked in some money when he first declared his candidacy. But I found a deeply disturbing video a few days ago, which indicates that Schiff approves of PREVENTIVE WAR. I'm sure he's a better choice than whoever he's running against, but I won't be supporting him any more, unless he makes a very convincing reversal of what he says in the video. One more wannabe mass murderer . . . it's a damn shame.

Does the end justify the means?
Schiff is too much of a fiscal conservative to support pre-emptive war. It doesn't make fiscal sense. Let him say what he needs to after all, politicians need to lie to get elected. I didn't watch the video- so I'm speaking out of complete ignorance of his comments but maybe he's talking about marque and reprisal- I'll watch the video. Know this though war is expensive- Schiff knows this.
Depends
On what means and ends you're talking about. Lying is not necessarily a bad thing. (Lying to people who threaten to use force against you or who have done so in the past may be perfectly proper, morally speaking.) Lying to voters in order to protect people from aggression and restore our civil liberties is fine with me. But murdering innocent people IS necessarily a bad thing.
In the video I linked, Peter Schiff may or may not be lying about his intended foreign policy. Aside from the video, for SURE he is being evasive about saying ANYTHING about foreign policy. Check out his campaign web page http://schiffforsenate.com/?q=issues -- not a word about foreign policy, except a vaguely worded support for constitutionally limited government.
If you can't watch the video, the important part is when he says that if Iran develops nuclear weapons then we ought to go in and bomb them. He would support bombing, but not an invasion.
I am afraid this may be a religious issue for him. He is Jewish. That doesn't necessarily make him a Zionist -- but if he feels that "making Israel safe" is a valid use or purpose of US foreign policy, then he cannot be trusted to extract us from the mess in the middle east. He cannot even be trusted not to make it worse.

Let Peter Schiff play the game the way it needs to be played, if you are with "US" let's choose better battles. There is far too much to deal with now to nitpick, although I understand your concern, we aren't playing the game they are. Choose not to donate, that is your right, but the opinion you have only hurts what we are trying to accomplish. Be strong, and play your part of the game, let's let "OUR" candidates play their part. This is the new and improved me, the one that does not get banned from this site, so it is free of degradation and profanity, but damn I had to bite my tongue replying to your comment. I'd be delighted to learn . . .
that Schiff is "playing the game" of saying whatever needs to be said to get elected. And that he will actually work to shut down the wars and the empire after he is elected. My question is: what makes you think he's not perfectly sincere? My (very favorable) impression of the guy is that he says what he believes. What has he ever said about foreign policy that makes you think he is NOT a neocon? Don't take this wrong; I would really like to find out that I'm wrong about this.
To me, it doesn't make a lot of sense that he would PRETEND to be a neocon. Are the wars that popular in Connecticut? I don't think so. Or could it be that he's trying to make himself palatable to the Republican party bosses in order not to be sabotaged via the rigged electronic voting machinery? Maybe -- but by so doing, he's going to lose a lot of support from the people (like me) who ought to be his biggest boosters.

2. "put our faith into ones that are closest to our ideals." -- sorry, but people who favor "preventive war," (better characterized as unprovoked mass murder)are not acceptably close to my ideals. And if you think that's nitpicking or flaky, I'm sorry about your case. Schiff's economics are sound, but if his ethics aren't, what's the point of electing him? He will just become one more of the "powers that be" who are happy to slit throats.

I got it up there. In the next few minutes I will get more of today's articles up from CT newspapers. We literally owned every comment section of every article, and people seemed to want to know more about Peter Schiff after we did that.
Last night
on Fox news they were all talking about Dodds resignation then they mentioned the candidates that are running and they left out Peter Schiff! This happened every time they discussed it!
