Is Freedom County a scam?
Submitted by ardentscientist on Wed, 01/06/2010 - 03:29
Hello everybody,
I have been doing a search on the Freedom County project and came across some bias. Here - http://www.elliscountyobserver.com/?p=8156 and here - http://www.freedomcountysentinel.com/
I'm interested in this as work is less and less for me as I'm in construction as a sub-contractor. I may need a place to go and the Freedom County venture sounds like a good idea. However..I cant afford to be scammed again. Any information on the truth would be of great help.

You cannot run a farm as a cooperative
It´s not very liberty or capital wise. Will fail.
But we knew this already. Seems like those soviet kolchos.
If they just lease land... I would rather buy some of my own, so it´s mine. No one want´s their neighbors to tell them what to do.

Hahahahahaha I knew it would be like this
This is why I think freedom is not a group activity. "Welcome to Freedom County. We make the rules"

She is mean
This woman is mean. You cannot disagree with her at all without her going balistic on you. She loves you one minute, but if you question her, you are then her enemy. Think RP needs to distance himself as far away as he can from this person.
NOT A SCAM
Linda Hunnicut is awesome! My Dad went down there in November to help out and he loved it. give her a call and talk to her! 828-3980943 or 409-673-4891

I'm guessing your Dad didn't
I'm guessing your Dad didn't pay any money into the project - and hasn't seen the Deed of Trust for the property.
Those who've invested to become residents were just informed on March 6th that they have until September 25th to raise over $500,000 - or possibly convince the seller to refinance the land - otherwise they are at serious risk of being foreclosed on.
Documentation of what I just posted here - and a whole lot more - is on the Freedom County Sentinel web site.

Please go there personally
and see what its like before you comment...
ps Sandra I have to apologize to you, I used to defend granny but I was wrong! sorry! You were right!

I had the plesure of helping Linda on April 15th 2008's DC march
Linda worked tirelessly organizing the first march on Washington DC for Ron Paul on April 2008. Over a thousand people showed from across the USA on a Tuesday, a day when Congressmen were in town, and showed them the Freedom Movement was real.
I had the pleasure of helping her with this march. During this time Linda behaved in the most upstanding manner with everyone involved, and even with those who seemed to be working against the project by discouraging people to attend. .
Linda and the other organizers gave credit to everyone who helped, she took very little for herself and incurred many of the cost without complaint.
The Linda I got to know was kind, honest, hardworking, shunned the spotlight, and was interested only in helping promote Ron Paul.
From my experience I believe that Linda is an honest, upstanding person; Nothing otherwise came out in those couple of months of hard and stressful work.
I hope you take into account this small testimonial when reading any accusations about her. In my opinion, she was one of Ron Paul's most tireless and effective helpers when the Revolution was just starting, and we all owe her a great deal of respect for that.
Sincerely,
Boris in Miami
P.S; My opinion reflects my experience with her on 2008, and is not an opinion on the facts of this new venture in Texas.

I attended as well.
Had a great time. I felt at the time that I was a part of something special. Two full years has since passed and I believe my inclination was correct.
Yes, I thought that way too.
Yes, I thought that way too. I would imagine most of us who entrusted her with money for the Freedom County deal probably did.
I used to think like you
but then I woke up to the truth, she is not an honest or nice person and while she publicly supports the ideals of freedom, in practice she is a little tyrant who wants to rule with an iron fist.
She practices:
Absolute authoritarianism without meaningful accountability.
No tolerance for questions or critical inquiry.
No meaningful financial disclosure regarding budget, expenses such as an independently audited financial statement.
There is no legitimate reason to leave, former residents are always wrong in leaving, negative or accused of crimes.
She has made enemies of the neighbors, they call her the queen of the monkeyherders.
I think shes trying to form a cult.

You have just described a .....
Dictatorship.
Thanks FREEDOM . Thanks Grumpy.
As I said, that was my experience. Thanks for sharing. Exchanging information is super important now.

You're welcome- and thank
You're welcome- and thank you. I can respect your opinion because I once held it. But thanks for being able to accept our opinions even though they differ from what you've known and experienced.
Agreed. It is important to share information- especially the kind that can save freedom-loving friends from wasted time, resources, heartache, etc.
no way
she reminds me of my grandma sweet!
Freedom is NOT free!
My Grandma Was Not Like Her Thank You
I had a sweet Grandma. She did not talk like Granny Warrior talks. GW talks filthy, talks about even her friends behind their back and is just out for herself, no matter who she has to step on to get there.
Glad I had a wonderful Grandmother who was definitely the opposite of this "Granny".
go find out
for yourself, ha ha ha.

Freedom County Project
If you're still researching the Freedom County project, you really should see the latest at
http://www.freedomcountysentinel.com/getting-to-the-truth-ab...
Check out the audio of a recent investors meeting held at the farm that's been posted there. It's mind-blowing, IMO.
There is heavily documented information on the Freedom County Sentinel and the site is maintained by actual investors in the Freedom County project. I invested in the project myself and have nothing to show for it - not even a signed lease.
If you think the investors in the project show "bias", maybe it's because they've been screwed over.
