Another canadian freedom lover checking in. Sometimes I think I'm the only one in my town of 45 thousand. Been following Dr. Paul since I discovered him on youtube a few years ago. I love that he is always the smartest man in the room. Always so consistent and never waivers or backs down. Mr. Nystrom's site has been my home page for quite a while now and I check it a few times every day. Canada jumped on the Keynnesian bandwagon during the height of the great depression. We have not chased as many dragons as you guys have, but we went all out with the social programs.... to the point that our dollar has been debased to near oblivion also. Our deficit reserve rate in banks here is 6%, had a teller look it up one day. I asked her if our dollar was backed by gold or silver and her large sheeplike eyes glazed over.
I have woke up a few people, but mostly people just don't care. I keep trying though. I told a group of people at work the other day what Dr. Paul has repeated so many times, that terrorism is a tactic, you can't fight a war against a tactic, and a few of them got it. I plan on slowly working on them. Canada's motto is "Peace, order and good government." To that end our government created internment camps for our young men who were riding the rails in the thirties. They came to be known as "slave camps". This was done so the agitators could be removed from society. They were paid 20 cents a day and the living conditions were horrible. The government consistenly denied there was a problem, but the sons of Canada held in these places wrote to their friends and family and the word got out. The issue culminated in "the Regina Riot" which happened because over 1000 men were involved in the "On To Ottawa Trek." They were going to protest on parliment hill to let PM Bennet know how they felt. Parliment hill put the word out to stop them, they never got past Regina. The police have always been willing to step on the rights and freedoms of Canadians in order to maintain "Peace, Order and good Government."
My son tells me yesterday he had a disagreement with his parenting teacher yesterday. She was having the class read the UN bill of rights for children. My son told her children have no rights, they are too young to understand the resposibilty that comes with rights, he used guns as a quick example. He said children are the property of parents, parents have a right to their children and with that right comes the responsibility to take care of them. If a parent abuses the child, then the parent would lose the right to have that child, and rightly so. My son says the teacher stammered and then said it was her job to make sure she read this UN bill of rights for children to the class. He told her it was his right as a citizen to disagree with such stupidity. I am bursting with pride for my 16 year old son. The other day I come home and he was watching Micheal Badnarick's Constitution Class that I had bookmarked quite a while back. He loved it. I hope Mr. Badnarik is recovering from his heart attack, and I wish him all the best.
Oh I so hope Dr. Paul makes another go of it in 2012. This revolution needs his voice, at least for now and it is so sweet to see him getting the respect he deserves from lamestream media.
I want to see that Masonic Lodge we call Parliment Hill torn down brick by brick, and our constitution rewritten to more properly reflect a constitutional republic like you guys are supposed to have. In ours I would include the provision that prevents the government from borrowing money like Mr Jefferson wanted. For now I'll have to content myself with that idea that a mans country is his principle, one of you guys have that quote on all of yer comments. I like that.
My son and I loved "For Liberty", looking forward to seeing Bill Still's "The Secret of Oz" (The movie that has been preventing me from saying "ya can find anything you want on those interweb tubes." ha ha) and "Don't Tread On Me"-the movie. Thanks to Mr. Nystrom for being so devoted to this site, and don't do anymore upgrades for a while please, the withdrawl was pretty rough.
