An Obama Supporter Laments Over Geithner Issue

Please allow me to reprint this comment I read on an article in The Huffington Post.

"Geithner symbolizes what is causing the American people to sour on the Obama presidency.

I have never worked harder in my life, as I did during the build up to the last presidential campaign/election. We sat night and day researching the Republican bag of tricks, and quickly passing on the anti-dotes to a very well coordinated network of online entities, so that we could together send waves of timely calibrated counter attacks cascading through online and offline media outlets, discussion boards and watering holes for news junkies.

We pulled up our bootstraps after McCain reached deep into his bag of tricks and pulled out a Sarah Palin on us. While she had the entire nation swooning to her ‘pitbull lipstick’, we called folks in Anchorage and dug deeper to find that forget about keeping an eye on Putin’s bathroom from her backyard, she had many bridges hidden in her closet. And we sent out well researched comments about the real Sarah Palin even as the media was swooning to her!

A year into Obama’s presidency, we feel let down. Several among who fought spiritedly for Obama have been unable to modify their mortgages. Many lost their jobs. A single mother who has no source of income anymore received notice from Bank Of America that she has to move out, and the bank’s representatives have the right to make random visits to the house anytime to ensure ‘its well being’ as the house is headed to foreclosure.

I personally feel cheated, and violated, especially as it becomes increasingly clear by every single passing day, that Obama and his blue eyed boys – Geithner in particular – have sacrifices Main street to protect, shield, and support Wall Street.

I invited our group to a cup of coffee last weekend, and I asked them in passing about sparing time and effort for the next elections. The sense of hurt was clearly evident, especially among the women in the group. Even though some of them tried to evade the topic, there is considerable ‘buyers’ remorse’ in our group. Ironically, after Sarah Palin was given the ‘wild card’ entry into the ticket, and many among us found ourselves on the backfoot momentarily, it were the women in our group – these now dispirited women that I mentioned – who got us to focus on Sarah Palin’s hypocrisy and McCain’s lack of judgment in foisting her on the ticket, and in doing so got us to counter attack against the Palin-McCain ticket.

Sadly, now that Obama is in the White house, and Geithner has replaced Paulson as the same old Goldman Sachs brew in a new bottle, there is no one to fight for Obama’s unseen foot soldiers like us.

I lost my job last week. I shall be able to make one more mortgage payment. My wife and I had worked very very very hard to get that place. Within that house are a lot of memories…of my wife’s feisty struggle against disability. Of how together we kept our spirits high even as she lost use of her limbs one after another, eventually becoming bed-ridden. A one time staunch republican from New England, she had become a very passionate Obama supporter. she often told me how proud she is to have lived long enough to see an Afro American person become the President. She took much mirth in calling some of her older relatives after Obama’s victory, many of who were not as enamored of an Afro American person becoming the President!

She died a few months ago. She remained jovial and positive to the very end, often lifting my spirits and consoling me. She told me not to worry if I lost the home. That the moments we had spent there, the bank can not take away.

She is in a little square box. I have not yet come to terms with spreading her ashes in the ocean as she wanted me to. But soon I will. Before they come to take the house. Despite everything, we had fought to ensure that the house was ours and it remained ours till she breathed her last.

I dont want her feeling homeless after she is gone.”

I’m not usually into human interest stories as they do not directly affect me, but I thought this a significant human interest story. The commenter took a lot of time to write it and took three comment windows to post it.

I feel so bad

That he lost his wife..may she rest in peace
That he hasnt comes to terms with her death yet
That hes not going to be able to keep 'their home'
That he, his late wife, and their friends are, where, Im sure, educated people who 'looked into' the issues and decided the only issues to look into where trying to be all PC BY VOTING IN A MAN THEY THINK IS BLACK..(Arabs come in all shades)
That they believed MSM and neglected to learn about ALL those that ran for the office, such as Dr.Ron Paul
And that Im sure the next idiot who believes they can get over on the people, and runs for office is who he and his educated bunch of friends will vote for

Now I do feel bad about all that...and a few other things

I believe in Hope & Change..I Hope the government will Change
Spindale-Rutherford County-North Carolina

that's a sad story

and he admits feeling cheated and violated. Unlike many Obamabots who still blindly cling to the fantasy that Obama is still their savior and have excuses for everything he does.

I think the writer of this story is a prime candidate for learning some truth about both major parties -- he has nowhere else to go.

I hope I didn't upset the Huffington Post gang too much by Borrowing this oratory from their site. They did ban me from posting over there though years ago. The people over there could learn a thing or two from good people if they would just stop banning and moderating so much.

OK, so this fellow

now wants a bailout or something? I am sorry, but if an adult person could not see beyond the empty rhetoric of Mr. Obama's campaign, what does that really say about that person's ability to engage his cerebral gear? Why is it almost always that when I read something posted by the liberal crowd it is always about feelings and morality, never about reason, facts, and reality?

Sorry for being a bit punchy today. Just tired of socialism.

Well, I don't know about you,

but I soured on Obama long before the election (even before he was my senator). I soured on McCain long before that. People always respond to calls for "change", but they always vote the same. How stupid do people actually have to be to believe all that noise? I realize that I have a college degree, but I can't imagine that it takes much intelligence to figure out when we've been had. My question for Obama's supporters is, "What, exactly, has changed?"

Drain the swamp!

He asked for 'change' and he

He asked for 'change' and he got it.

He voted for Obama

because he believed Obama would what? Help with his mortgage? If he had spent half as much time doing his homework to find out exactly what kind of thing he was supporting he would be better off. Do I feel sorry for him? NO! He hasn't learned anything except that Obama won't be helping him with his mortgage. I believe in helping those who help themselves..with MY OWN money; not other people's money. He still doesn't get it.

Had Ron Paul gotten elected

Either way, had Paul gotten elected he would have not been able to end the military industrial complex.

Its corruption is too deeply rooted, POLITICS can't change this at all.

He could have closed down half of it, broke the CIA in two halves. But that's nothing.

You can only change this and get rid of the MIC by closing down the entire Federal Reserve, you can only do that, by winning the PHILOSOPHICAL debate and changing it.

This is not a POLITICAL debate and never has been.

It has always been a war of ideas, philosophical ideas and a war for freedom.

POLITICS can't change this at all

yes!! you are 100% on it!! It is a PHILOSOPHICAL debate and it will not progress until we undertand that!!

"I think we are living in a world of lies: lies that don't even know they are lies, because they are the children and grandchildren of lies." ~ Chris Floyd

You've made an important point here Sam . . .

It is evident that philosophies are a key piece in awareness proof in the extrodinarly long and passionate blogs discussing east/west religions and paganism.
Thoughts, feelings are respected here on the DP and part of it's success story.

And the small family farmer is under great duress around the world, and a major casualty of the "war" upon the planets' resources. Our blogs are lengthy as well when discussing food and nutrition.
I know of one organization, "True Food" has already won lawsuits against Monzanto without accountability the GMO/poisoning adulterations, and history of aggressions against small family farmers, and aided/caused the demise of the small family farmer, a "slow money" way of life, but a way of life!

What organizations, perhaps an Interpol or such, to take down the FDA and Monzanto, and cause an upset in the Agenda 21, Codex serious attack on our freedoms?

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

Believe it or not

I actually know a couple of people that voted for him because they don't understand how things really work and did not need or want anyone to GIVE them anything. They worked hard and took care of themselves very well and helped others when needed. They are just kind hearted and hoped he would help people. Ignorant yes. But well meaning and not deserving of ill will. And again they didn't want McCain and Ron Paul was not on the ballot here. They did vote for Ron Paul in the primaries. Some people blame me for Obama being elected because I voted for Chuck Baldwin. Doesn't bother me a bit. I just ask them who they voted for in the primary and most of them didn't vote the primaries or didn't vote for Ron Paul because they were told he couldn't win. Ignorance is ignorance no matter what party you are. Instead of all this blame why don't we allow people to learn from their mistakes and help and hope they try to fix them. Condemning them will not save this country. We all make mistakes. I do think some here actually think McCain would have been better. "Bomb bomb bomb Iran" and " I wish interest rates were zero" among many other stupid things.

Still Clueless

And sometimes it really sucks, a lot.

Thanks for making Obama our president. NOT

I have to wonder

after reading some of the comments here. If this guy were not a Obama suppoter and was even a Ron Paul supporter and went through the illness and death of his wife and the loss of his job and home and was your neighbor or kin. Would you have done what you could to help? Or just look at it all and say... Fail?
I know you don't believe in government bailouts, but do you believe in helping your fellow man? Even if they may have made a mistake that contributed to their problem? Sometimes you people are cold. He fell for the lie and may not have even known about Ron Paul. Should he have been a McCain supporter? I would like some of you to reply to this.
Oh and just because they were glad to see that the country seemed to be less racially divided does not fair well with your attitudes about his comment about that. Even I was hoping naiely I admit that a brown skinned president would at least reduce the racial divide. It seems it made it much worse. As far as I am concerned Obamas color has nothing to do with the problems any more than Bushes did. Even here it seems the indocrination to the false left vs right is alive and well.

Actually, I have seen and

Actually, I have seen and heard a lot of BS from this side.
Very hateful personal attacks, making up stories (!), spinning fact 'til You just want to give up (tactic).

Helping my fellow man is not the question, of course I would, regardless his political view.

Still it seems to be instant karma in his case, if the story is true.
You know, it is still the internet and You have those kids....

AttilasDaughter~try going to the neocon sites

and talk about Ron Paul or a non-interventionist foreign policy...then come back here and tell me how it went. Okay? Also see if any admit the mistake of voting AGAINST someone instead of voting on principles.

Haven't done that, to be

Haven't done that, to be honest, Liberty_Belle.
Let me guess, the conversation is relatively short, because they instantly judge You
and it leaves You with the feeling You're dealing with brainwashed Teenagers?

I just wonder if those guys will vote on principles, when the next corporative candidate gets pushed.
The Obama Advertisement Team played them like a fiddle.

I agree Chonk! He is no different

than all the people that voted for McCain and now see that McCain is purly establisment...yet we plan strategies to educate the neocon GOP in spite of their mistaken beliefs and we are so ready to crucify the left? At this point I find it much easier to talk to some on the left than I do the neocon right!

Thank you Liberty Bell

I think we might have more luck with them at this point if we admit to the GOP mistakes and speak the truth. I see the GOP backsliding lately and more and more of the left waking up. I admire the ones who admit they were duped. The GOP isn't very good at doing that.

You know the end of the

You know the end of the comment is really sad, but this has nothing to do with politics.

The guy is a typical Obot, who was and is totally illusional about Obama and gives him credit because he is (half)black. I don't want to go into this racism, we all are very well aware of it.

But just yesterday I saw the video of Kokesh in Japan and clicked on the YouTube channel of the woman that posted it, there was a comment of an Obot, just like this guy could be.

The comment started with "if You don't like it here in America, them go" it went on about her figure and assumed eating habits. Never on the issue, always on attack, Typical Obot.
When I clicked on that commenters channel it was totally dedicated to Palin hate.

Sorry, but those people deserve what they get. Those stoopid bullies have pushed Obame without ever questioning his background, his ties, anything.

Thanks, michaelwise ! Here's more admitted shenanigans... illegal voting ... from the website:

"The link to this site is going around my friends' Facebook pages. I am here to apologize for casting a false vote last November.

I represent the many thousands of college students who were promised a day's pay plus free meals to get on a bus and head to New Hampshire to vote. In both the Primary AND General elections. We students did not live in New Hampshire, nor were we eligible to vote in New Hampshire.

But New Hampshire voting law has a loophole which the DNC exploits to no end: the New Voter Affidavit.

On voting day, if a "new" voter needs to register, they may do so without any documentation to prove where they live, as long as they "swear" on a personal affidavit that what they just told the registration clerk is true. This happened for many thousands of people just like me, who were enamored of Barack Obama, and only wanted to help him help the people of this country.

We had stars in our eyes, to be sure. Now we have pains in our guts.

To make this all the more heinous, bus loads of "affidavit swearers" were bused from one voting location to another. All day long, where we repeated the same "new voter" registration/affidavit-swearing crap, ad nauseum. We even laughed as we traded identities, knowing that the clerks would never get together in time to compare "new voter" lists. Nashua, Salem, Manchester, Portsmouth, Concord... the busloads of paid "new voters" hit every large city in the southern portion of NH.

To this day, nothing has been done to fix this loophole in New Hampshire's voting laws. I wonder how many other states have loopholes like this?"

legality of spreading ashes?

"I have not yet come to terms with spreading her ashes in the ocean as she wanted me to."

He better not tell anyone about his plan to spread his wife's ashes in the ocean! I'm quite certain there are laws against this now. It's considered "pollution".

that crossed my mind too. Ironic considering what gets dumped in the ocean. I want to be scattered in a horse pasture near the river. Pretty sure you can't do that either. But who is gonna know? Or I want to sell my corpse for forensic research where they throw the corpse in the woods and study how it decays and the effects of nature and what animals ect. may do with jewelry clothing etc. I would love to either not cost my family anything for my disposal or maybe even profit from it.

You -

are a special soul. Refreshing.

These people need to be educated

by Ron Paul if they would just read his books are watch his videos they will come to know the truth.

"We can see with our eyes, hear with our ears and feel with our touch, but we understand with our hearts."

I'm glad that this guy's having a tough time.

I hope it gets tougher for him.

He got exactly what he worked so hard to get.
And I'm perfectly happy to let him choke on what he helped to put in office.

He worked for it, he foisted the rat on the rest of us, and he can pay for it.
No sympathy from me.

A little telling, the

A little telling, the techniques they used to get Obama elected.
