Russia opens oil port that will supply China Japan and South Korea

This is a big deal and is going to jack up the price of oil sky high in Europe, possibly making them desperate for oil.

It sounds more like to me it makes it easier for russia to import oil to the west coast. granted I do not know if it is just easier to build a port than getting the rights to have a pipeline in massive amounts of asia.

no, they are opening up the asia markets, which was feed by rail previously period. They have a greater market share, so prices go up.

I hope not. There really is no analog for what we are about to enter, unfortunately any comparison to European countries just does not work because of our population size and number of people living in comfort.

It's not *more* oil.........it's *less* oil. Less oil for europe, more oil for asia. Demand there is projected to rise which will constrict supply, however, we'll have to wait and see what happens with China first. They may have overproduced themselves into a hole they cant climb out of.

Yeah and the Iran Turkmenistan pipeline is another good thing to look into. The pieces are moving faster than most people can keep up. And it doesn't help that you have to do almost a whole research project to find this stuff.

Last week Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin attended the ceremonial opening of what will become Russia’s third largest oil port. The port is on the Pacific Coast of Siberian Russia, just north or Japan and Korea.
