John Stossel interviews Ron Paul

At the end of 20/20 last night, Stossel mentioned that he had gotten tons of requests for him to interview RP. So he did. The interview is available here:

I have no idea whether or not it will actually air on 20/20; he gave no indication that it would, but thought you would all want to watch it. (I am about to watch myself for the first time, so I can't yet report as to how it went!)

I found that interview VERY suspect to say the least. Out of ALL of Paul's issues and issues facing the US, John picked drugs and prostitution? Hmm, not sure I have much trust in him anymore..

That video was not "the" interview, it was just a teaser. The interview will be played in parts starting monday.
Even if it wasn't just a teaser, not every interview has to be about the same thing, an interviewer can have a specific topic that he wants to discuss, what's wrong with that?
Finally, John Stossel is a FELLOW libertarian, and these are things that libertarians greater differ on from other political parties, so how is it so odd that he would ask these sorts of questions?

Did you read the commentary he wrote of the interview? He writes that Paul is fine with having heroin and cocaine legal. And prostitution. Now if you think that shines a nice light on Paul, then so be it. I don't think so, as much as I didn't think the Bunny Ranch story was very helpful. NOW, we all know where Paul stands, BUT, I think a lot of times people try to exploit it in an attempt to smear him. I question the motivations the same reason i question people in the media that continue to ask about him running as a third party and conspiracy theories.
Even the Howard Fineman interview was biased even though the issues discussed were dear to Paul, Fineman didn't have an interest in discussing the issues, but rather he wanted to make Paul look like a kook, although he failed at it in my opinion.

RP & Stossel
Who cares about an interview on the internet? Stossel says that he heeded our request for an interview? He knew full well that we meant an interview on national TV. This interview was just to pacify internet supporters. John Stossel wields a big enough gun at ABC that he could have given the country a television interview. This is slow pitch, low margin jounalism and I'm disappointed in John. Did Stossel inform Ron Paul that this interview was only going to be seen on ABC's website, in several different segments, weeks apart?
Don't give Stossel and ABC so much credit. I love Stossel's reporting, but this is not such a big deal. Why put RP's views on prostitution and drug legality as the first segment? Even John has his own agenda, believe it or not.
I give this a 1 out 5 stars for effectiveness. Pfft..
