Cooper plays first chair.....

in the "meat whistle" orchestra.

He's a little silver spoon operative, that knifed RP in the debates.

I do not, and never will trust him...

Wow I'm speechless

While being way beyond impressed at every answer Ron Paul gave (as usual), I was watching Cooper's expression while thinking "What is he (they) really up to?" -- treating Ron Paul with such respect and even telling him he gave the most honest answer. Bizarre.

Enjoyed Ron Paul making it clear he and Palin were from two different tribes -- he doesn't accept money while she...well, I'm not calling it prostitution but the duck does quack and swim in the River of Warmongering with the other ducks.

Working for it

Sarah Palin is not an elected official and if she accepts paid speaking gigs I don't see any problem with that.

I agree that Palin doesn't have anything notable to say on foreign policy (if she did somebody would note it).

And your point

And your point would be, what? That Palin is not a bought and paid for political whore for hire? lol

This Is a Working Link

This link worked for me - I think it is the exact same video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVZ6hjN1xs0&feature=related

The embedded one did not work for me.

Already got my bumper stickers...

on both my vehicles-On my truck, still have "we're screwed '08," and "don't blame me I wrote in Ron Paul"-recently added on my back window-"Ron Paul is still right," "end the fed," and "Ron Paul 2012." Just put on my wife's van-"so, how's that hopey, changey thing workin out for ya," and "Ron Paul 2012." RUN RON RUN!!!!

If Palin thinks she can hijack the Teaparty movement

She better think again. She will have to do a 180 on the warmongering. I guess she could always lie like the rest of the jackasses.
Otherwise, she is wasting her time.

Easy..She will "act" like Ron Paul

And try to make Rand look like a fool by acting like she was always anti-war...

When she's nothing but a crazy neocon. As soon as she got into office, she would turn her back as fast as Obama does and institute wars without end. She can just lie until she gets the support necessary unless people stop paying her attention.

:)

I love Dr. Paul!

Who is John Galt? Vote ███ ███ 2012!

MSM is Already Working on Splitting Republican Party!

They want the globalist Obama to win again.

They control how the mainstream Republicans think, and believe that most of them will not support a constitutional candidate that is not interested in invading and occupying other countries and illegal wars.

So, they're trying to help him out. I hope it backfires on them this time!

Ron will have a good shot...

...if Audit the Fed goes through. He also has new friends in Congress like Alan Grayson that may be willing to help and endorse him on the campaign trail since it would be a politically-friendly thing to do for their careers.

I used to like Grayson ( a little)

Butttttttttttt, the more I read about him the less I like.

He sounds socialist.

Cheers,

TimB

Dr. Paul said he was not saying NO to 2012!

has not made up his mind yet.

why dr.paul hasn't said yes

well one thing that immediately comes to mind is that once he announces a run everything he does will be turned into political football, and all the more difficult it will be for him to spread the message of liberty which he has said over many many years is an issue that trumps his personal political career.

It absolutely was not MY tea party,

NOT my kind of tea party that PAID for a guest speaker, especially not Palin. Yuk. That was a Glenn Beck thing to do. If she won't speak for free at a tea party, then she has NO scrupples.

I agree. Requiring $100k in

I agree. Requiring $100k in order to speak to the tea party people means it's about a paycheck for her rather than the message. At least IMO that's how it seems.

...

no doubt she would have to pay someone

to write a speech for her.

Now Is The Time To Prepare

Now is the time for Ron Paul to lay down the groundwork for a Presidential run in 2012. If he can begin now to start accumlating impressive fundraising figures, and begin now to setup local Statewide Campaign offices in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, etc., and lineup volunteers and boots on the ground, he could just become an unstoppable juggernaught. Why? Consider the following:

When Ron Paul ran in 2007-8, he was not anywhere remotely close to being household name. He was on nobody's radar screen. Very few people had ever even heard of him. The few that did, perceived him as perhaps the most isolated and uninfluential politician in the history of Washington. A total misfit. He hadn't a chance in the World.

But then...something happened. Despite his obscurity, Ron Paul miraculously burst upon the scene anyway during the Republican debates, by the sheer talent and originality and courage of his own performance. No one had ever seen such breathtaking honesty and common sense coming from a political debate stage before. People noticed. Independents noticed. Liberals noticed. College students noticed. From there, an Internet wave helped to propell him to a point where this obscure underdog eventually caught up to the so-called "top-tier" Nationally known candidates in fundraising....but by the time that this happened, the Iowa and New Hampshire races were already upon us, and the Media had had a free reign of 16-months to aggressively promote Mitt Romney, Rudy Guiliani, John McCain, and even Fred Thompson on a daily basis -- such that there was just too much ground to be made up. The Media and public expectations had already been (largely) set in stone. It was just too late.

But with advanced preparation (that's the key), 2011-2012 will be a different story.

Today, Ron Paul is now seen as a sage and authentic alternative voice by much of the Cable Media (still ignored, of course, by CBS, NBC, ABC). Unlike the past, today Ron Paul is on the TV on a regular basis, and seen as the "guy who was right" about many issues. Even his politically unknown son, Rand Paul is now in position today to compete and possibly win a National U.S. Senate seat (perhaps outranking his legendary father) mostly due to the "Paul brand".

So unlike 2007-8, Ron Paul will be a factor right from the very beginning. He can and will be competitive right away on a fundraising level. He will draw far greater crowds and enthusiasm right from the beginning (instead of during the middle of the race). As a consequence, the major Media this time around will have to talk about him. Like it or not, they will be forced to cover him. And they will even have to include his name in polling figures, as the crowd sizes and competitive fundraising make it unignorable that Ron Paul has finally arrived as a "major candidate".

Once again, there is no one to touch him during the debates. He will easily outshine whatever competition he faces (Mitt Romney?, Tim Pawlente?). Everytime that Ron Paul is on TV in these forums, he educates people a little bit more, and influences a little bit more. Whatever momentum that he has at the beginning will only grow. His movement has substantial upside, far, far more so than any other National candidate.

While the RNC and GOP Leadership will try hard to derail his candidacy, they may also just realize as well that Ron Paul will be the only actual chance that the GOP has to go toe-to-toe against the charismatic Obama and win in the fall.

The point is, we must reject the conventional wisdom and recognize that it is NOT true that it is "unlikely Paul will win". The Ron Paul movement will be even bigger than before this time around. The crowds and the money will be in place right from the very beginning. The Media will be forced to recognize him. And, if Rand Paul also wins the Senate seat, that will even further enhance the credibility of his candidacy even more. The "Paul name" will gain further mass acceptability.

Finally, a War and Terror weary American public is not going to want to listen to the likes of Romney, Guilinani, Pawlente, etc, just babble on and on about even more War and Torture. That whole 2004 mentality is long gone. Obama is the new Bush. And trying to "out-Bush" Obama will not be the place where the majority of the American public is.

Thus, the time is right for a major Ron Paul swing. He was right about the War. He was right about the Federal Reserve. He was right about Gold. He was right about NAFTA. No longer are these issues considered "crazy" or "goofy". The ideas that Paul stands for have been also now gaining considerable traction on their own merit. The time is right. The opportunity is now.

Mark my words, if Ron Paul organizes early (that's the key), and puts in place Statewide Campaign offices early on, and camps out in Iowa and New Hamspire and South Carolina .... he may just be unstoppable -- whether the RNC likes it or or not.

I'm sure that they'll try to recruit Jeb Bush or Dick Cheney or Lindsey Graham at the 11th hour to steal it away from Paul. But if he gets the momentum early, he will be unstoppable. You just can't beat something ....with nothing.

And Ron Paul is something big.
It will only get bigger.

We need to carry this message directly to Ron Paul himself. He has one more mission to run. It's time for Liberty to finally win.

Let's do it!

If you live in a caucus

If you live in a caucus state, you better get to your caucus this Spring. This will help lay the groundwork for you to put RP in the lead for 2012.

If you can't be bothered to go to caucus for a couple hours, then you are only pretending to support the effort for freedom and liberty.

Well, goodness gracious, Baby

Take it to the man then. I agree with you and you have said it very convincingly. Let's get going.

What about voter fraud?

I'd say maybe his 'headquarters' should be grassroots this time. Maybe the grassroots should set up those headquarters offices all over the US. Maybe the grassroots should spend the money on the projects we need to get the signs out, get the radio and tv spots. Maybe we don't need a high paid campaign manager, a hotshot.

Where's Trevor Lyman these days?

We need to get Trevor Lyman again cranking fundraising things up early in the process this time.

The goal must be to front-load Ron Paul several millions of dollars very early on, so that he can setup the campaign structures in Iowa, NH, South Carolina right away and get a jump on everybody else.

Where's Trevor?
Do we have other Web savvy Trevors?

great post

very inspiring :)

i noticed anderson "cia" cooper

didn't miss his opportunity to ask about paul creating a third-party again.

all you people trumpeting for the creation of a third party need to wake up.

RP spoke in terms of running as a third party candidate

not in terms of having a third party endorse and fundraise for him. RP can't run third party and he's stated it many times. The third party idea that I personally spoke of would not be for RP to run on, but to gain support for the liberty movement from the many voters who will have nothing to do with the Republican Party. And as this article points out, there are many.

Voters Prefer Tea Party to GOP
http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/usnews/politics/2609...

I've even tested the idea at another forum and people are interested in a third party. It doesn't even have to be official; it could just be a (non-Democrat/non-Republican) movement. Awareness that the two major parties are the same is spreading, and it's leaving people hopeless. Anyway, if we don't start the third party, I bet "they" might in their attempt to control the opposition.

we are the Remnant

Yes, indeedy, you are right!

And when you are right, you are right.

What is the Basis for Throwing Out the Tea?

That was a good interview, as is usual with Congressman Paul. Dr. Paul touched on something during that talk which I think is very important to the so-called "Liberty (or Tea Party) Movement," and it is the issue that we're not all on the same page about what the key liberty issues are. Many people, even on this forum, throw around the words "liberty" or "freedom," and yet, when it comes to defining what they mean, we find out each person has a different definition of the terms. That is why it becomes so easy for us to have debates amongst each other because we all disagree on what exactly it is we're fighting for or should be considered as principle. Without an objective standard for what liberty is, it becomes almost impossible for this movement to be unified and formidable to do what it takes to bring our nation back to its original intent and subsequent successes in freedom.

So, unless we're willing to come together and appeal to an objective standard for what liberty entails as well as what is crucial to bringing it about as a righteous goal, sadly, we're not going to get very far. It doesn't matter how many times Congressman Paul is on the air (as much as I like seeing him in the spotlight). His ideas and philosophy must have a solid foundation for establishing any movement to bringing us limited government and respect for personal liberties. Otherwise, we're no different than the enraged hedonists during the French Revolution nor the radical communists during the Russian Revolution, for instance.

i think negative Liberty

is the standard definition of Liberty (haha at least that is what is on my mind).

but, i agree. I went to a Tea Party in Knoxville - and more than half of the people seemed to be there because Obama is president. If McCain had won, they would have been sitting on their asses at home. They blindly follow the party that has betrayed them by abandoning principles. That is the most frustrating thing.

the founder of Oath Keepers was there, and he gave everyone the opportunity to take an oath to defend the constitution. All the goons, of course, stood up and took that oath. I'm sure it made them FEEL good. It pisses me off though, to watch the attendants - obviously party liners - belittle that oath and what it stands for.

and Ron Paul's ideas DO have a solid foundation. he doesnt hide his intellectual influences. its our duty to be educated in order to turn our passion to action.

This was a great interview,

This was a great interview, particularly because Cooper let him talk. This (with the Maddow interview) is the second time I've seen Ron Paul brought on to sort of further the left-right story angle and the second time the good doctor has eloquently revealed to viewers that it's essentially a false dichotomy. I give it two thumbs up!
