Nathan Deal, U.S. Representative for Georgia, is running for Georgia Governor in 2010.
(Jan. 5, 2010) — The Post & Email can publicly confirm that on the first of December, last, U.S. Congressman Nathan Deal (GA-R) challenged the eligibility of Barack Hussein Obama to hold the office of the U.S. presidency.
Todd Smith, Chief of Staff for Representative Nathan Deal of the United States House of Representatives serving Georgia’s 9th district, has confirmed today that Deal has sent a letter to Barack Hussein Obama requesting him to prove his eligibility for the office of President of the United States of America. The letter was sent electronically the first of December 2009 in pdf format, and Mr. Smith said that Representative Deal has confirmation from Obama’s staff that it has been received. The letter did not have additional signatories. It originated solely from Representative Deal.
Now, what does this mean? This is probably the first time in 233 years of American history that a sitting member of the House of Representatives has officially challenged the legitimacy of a sitting president….one full year into his term.
This forever changes the public discourse.

"a child born in the United States of parents of foreign descent... becomes a citizen of the United States at the time of birth"
and claims this would prove Obamas eligibility.
Funny,he doesn't seem to see that it explains the citizen status of a child born to non-US-citizen parents.

I will not engage in endless and pointless discussions about this anymore, but there is a difference.
Natural born citizen means citizen at birth who does not need any laws to claim his/her citizenship (therefore natural).
The case You quoted is a citizen by the law of the "Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution".

Wow, such a stark contrast to how things used to be even just 10-20 years ago. People outside the United States used to admire the US and aspire to become a citizen... and now we have people bragging about NOT being US citizens...

Oppose to people who can't figure out that native born citizen (born in the USA) is not the same as natural born citizen.

I can see only two possibilities for the action of Obama-Soetoro.
Either he is in fact, not a natural born citizen, and not entitled to serve as president.
or
He is a natural born citizen, and qualified, but has concealed his records to prevent disclosure that he committed fraud by applying for aid as a foreign student while in college.
Why else would he spend a reported $950,000 to conceal his recoreds, all of which are public records? Here is a perfect example of what I always say. It is not our politicians who need information about us, it is WE who need to scrutinize them. They have a track record of breaking the law.
If Obama is not a natural born citizen, he is guilty of fraud and so is everyone who has helped him to conceal this fact. The charge is missprison of a felony.
If he is qualified, and if he applied for student aid as a foreign student, he is guilty of fraud.

Obama cannot be a natural born citizen who is hiding his records in order to avoid charges of fraud re college financial aid applications. He was born a UK citizen (formerly called subject), if not also a US citizen, so he was not born a natural born citizen and can never be one. The Founders created a one-generation firewall against ascent to the office of President.

Kenya the country was under British rule when Obama was born... so it does not matter WHERE he was born, he is not a natural-born citizen. Because of his father. It was brought up because on his own website he had posted in his bio that he was proud to be a dual citizen.. that was rewritten when someone pointed out that he .could no be eligible to run for the presidency if he was.
If you are unfamiliar with dual-citizenship please research it... A dual citizen is NOT a natural citizen of the United States. Even better, write Pelosi a letter and ask why she did what she did with his eligibility forms...

So what the area was named Kenya in 1920s? The area in question won their independence in 1963 which was after Barack Obama was born. But as posted below, it doesnt matter if his father was from Mars, the only thing that matters is that he was born in the US of A i.e making him a natural born US citizen.

I am going to ask this question again untill someone answers you answer it. From your reasoning the offspring of a british citizen will always inherit british citizen at birth which then disqualifies the said person from being a natural born question.
If this is true, then are you saying any descendant of a British citizen can never become president since they would ALWAYS be citizens of a country other than the US since the british citizen will always follow then regardless of country of birth country?. I think it would have just been easier to put a clause in the constitution stipulating just that.
But then again, i dont believe this is the case. A baby cannot be forced to become a citizen of a country where he wasnt born in
A natural-born citizen can have a parent with the status of
"permanent resident". Obama Sr. may have held that status through his marriage to a US citizen. A person doesn't need to live in the US to retain his/her permanent residency. He would, of course, have been required to keep his British citizenship during this time. So, just saying Obama Sr. was a British citizen is pointless if he was a US permanent resident. Sorry.
Since Obama Sr. was most likely a bigamist, any permanent residency gained through marriage to Obama Jr's mother would have been gained through fraud and would have stripped Jr. of his natural-born status.
Even if Obama Sr. was a legitimate US permanent resident, Barry's mother didn't qualify in giving him natural-born citizenship. She needed to be a US citizen for five years after the age of 16 and, of course, this did not happen.
