paul4won's political swan song
Call it closure. I posted the entire journey here, I may as well post the journey's end.
Names have not been changed, no one is innocent.
The build up to this Central Committee meeting began when I read about
Blake Hall's resignation. I immediately knew who the RIGHT man for
that job was, and asked if he would accept the nomination. He thought
it over, said he would. Then a week to so ago, the seat became a
political football and my hoped for opportunity to do a very good
thing for the Idaho Republican Party was bribed, negotiated, coerced,
cajoled and / or threatened away before the meeting was even started.
The Central Committee will dutifully choose between the appointed one
or the anointed one, who they were told or who they were sold. I am
sorry, I do not know which one "won." I know who lost, all of us.
Cornel Rasor was never even nominated.
Mark and I arrived, registered, and bumped into the Hatfields who told
us that most of the good resolutions HAD survived Committee. Good
start... Again, I sdon't know the outcome. I DO know that the Sound
Currency PLATFORM PLANK has been utterly ignored for nearly 2 solid
years now, and we were still passing resolutions about it... or TRYING
to pass them.
We went to listen in on the end of the Chairmen's meeting. A man rose
and stated his concern about the Tea Party type movement. The people
in the room were assured that the Tea Party groups up north are all
firmly in the control of Republicans, although Brad Little did express
some dismay about the "fringe militia types" and allowed as how he was
not sure how to keep them out. Norm Semanko stepped up to the podium,
but not the plate. Here was the golden opportunity to embrace the "Tea
Party type group" that was already IN the room - the RON PAUL
REPUBLICANS. He did not. He joined in the chorus congratulating
themselves on how they already won. I stood in the back of the room
waving bye-bye at Norm, he failed to notice. As Brad Little left the
room, I blocked his exit. I told him the fringe militia types are
second amendment people, and if we welcome them we grow the party. He
gave me a dirty look and shuffled out.
I wandered into Region meeting. A gentlemen wanted to bring a
resolution saying we were all going to support Otter because times are
tough and he tries really hard. My head exploded... I held up my
hand... I got called on... and I laid a little truth on the table. OK,
a lot of truth on the table. I am not even sure what I said, but I
remember saying something about there is no "left or right, there is
only the right foot stepping toward fascism, then the left foot
stepping toward fascism" and that I think I got something in about if
Butch would have moved on the Sound Currency he could have avoided the
hard times... I got scolded by the Chair for my lack of civility. I
told him I did not care if he or anyone else liked my passion, and
that the nation is on the brink and I am passionate. Note the lack of
quotations... I won't pretend that "the Spirit spoke through me" but I
did my level best to speak truth, and I spoke from the heart.
I did sit through some good discussion and some more "party line"
bullshit. I finally raised my hand again, when someone pointed out
that we needed to "not compromise." I wanted to agree. I wanted to
point out we need to be DAMN CAREFUL what we decide are the things we
will not compromise upon, and suggest the Bill of Rights as a place to
start. I sat with my hand up through one person. Then another. Then
another. Then another. Then Barry called for a motion to adjourn and I
told him that was crap, and that I was done.
I left the room, then remembered I had a purse full of Smedley Butler
fliers still, and decided to lighten my load. I went back in, passed
out as many as I could. As I distributed them, I ranted / suggested
they try standing for the things Jesus would approve of, instead of
"support the troops" how about we support peace? Truth? Honesty?
Integrity? I pointed out that the Ron Paul people TRIED to show up and
help save this Republic, and that we were LEAVING the Republicans, and
they might want to address that. Again, it was not a planned script,
not a planned ass-ripping, but once there I did my best to speak
truth, take right action. Are my actions right for anyone else?
Probalby not. But I am me, and I do what I do, and I have to assume I
am what I am for a reason and that apparently, the Universe believed
some folks needed an ass ripping today.
I made a pass through the restaurant area, and invited a few diners to
taste a bit of truth as I continued passing out Smedley fliers. I
personally challenged Leanne Callear, DARED her to learn the truth,
and pretty much forced her to take a flier. Of course, I cannot make
her read it, or go type in the link at the bottom to finish the story.
If you know her, I encourage you to encourage her to study up on
Smedley.
Norm got the last anal enlargement. "What did I do to you?" he asked
as I growled by.
Nothing. Not a thing. Nothing to me, nothing for me, nothing to bring
Ron Paul's ideals into play, nothing to make things better. Not a damn
thing. He got a Smedley flier, for all the good it will do.
And then I came home and resigned. I invited Norm and John to join me
at the Neurolux in Boise at 9:00 PM on January 22, and I invite you,
too. This is the band that will be playing:

I would be astounded to see Norm there, but I really, really hope to
see some of you there.
If you are curious, what I was passing out was a one page "teaser" of
the information at this link, and the link.

Below, I have added my resignation letter, and the rough notes for the
nomination speech I did not get to make.
Well then, back to the chickens.

I have no desire to continue tuning fiddles while Rome burns. While
you all play "civil" politics, your party, your state, and your nation
crumble. Sadly, I think you two KNOW that. I think one of you is
desperately trying to stop it and still play the game, and that is not
going to work. The other one of you I think is trying to play the game
and look like you are helping while actually doing all you can to keep
the status quo propped up. I think there are criminals at the top our
"our" party and if we support them, we are accomplices.
Correction, YOUR party, YOU are accomplices. I am done. I will be out
with the folks who are not afraid to say things like "TRUTH" and even
more amazing, they will say things that ARE the truth, whether they
are pleasant on the ears or not.
I resign, effective immediately. While you all pat yourselves on the
back for already having won over the Tea Party, (aka counting chickens
before they hatched) the people who tried to join your party are
leaving. See? Here goes another one.
If you would like to chat, come down to the Neurolux on January 22 at
9:00 PM to hear this band:

Bye bye!

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I know you likely came here with a pre-selected candidate for the
Republican National Committeman's seat. I suspect after I make my
nomination, you will likely go ahead and vote for your appointed or
annointed or the one who scratched your back the best. So be it. I am
on my way out the door anyway, you will be free to keep doing what you
have always done, and I expect you will keep getting what you have
always gotten - politicians running things.
I came to this party, with a sizable like minded contingent, eager to
restore our nation, our Republic. I was of the mind that the
Republican party ought to be the guardians of the Republic. I did not
come hear meek and humble, I came here full of spit and vinegar and
ready to wrestle rino's. I was courted and sparked for votes to throw
one politician out in favor of another, and I fell for it a time or
two. Score one for the rinos. When it came time to defend the
Republic, I generally found myself with few allies. To this day, many
in this room are afraid to say "Ron Paul" even though they voted for
him. Come on, the tally spoke for itself. And you ought to be proud,
you did the right thing. Imagine the state of our nation today if Ron
Paul had been elected president... You could still do the right thing,
and embrace the Constitution, and admit that you need to grow this
party, that you need Ron Paul Republicans and some Libertarians and
some Independents and some Constitutionalists...
There is one man who has done the right thing since day one. He has
tried to take input from both sides, made himself available to anyone
who wanted his ear, and conducted the business of his county in front
of anyone who wanted to observe. He welcomed us all here and was a
most gracious host at that rather tense State Convention, and he has
continued to seek to unite the people in this party at every
opportunity. Many seek to simply be rid of people like me - pick your
reason. I lean heavily toward liberty, I am not a Christian, I want
the government out of all of my healthcare including my reproductive
healthcare oh YES I did just say that in a room full of Republicans.
So clearly, a nomination from me is a dubious honor in this company.
But consider this, if you really want this party to grow, perhaps you
should listen to the man who found a way to put differences
aside and work with anyone willing to step up - even me. Perhaps that
is the type of voice that could bring people INTO the party rather
than run people out. Perhaps a voice like that is the best voice to
send to National.
I offer you people my best advice for getting the Republican party
back to the VITALLY important task of restoring our Republic.
I nominate Cornel Rasor.

Never give up. Thank you for
Never give up. Thank you for your courage and hard work!

Truth is treason in an empire of lies.
Claire,
you are correct, the Republican party machine consists mainly of dim-witted accomplices that dutifully march to orders that come from a handful of criminals who operate behind closed doors at the top. I'm sorry that you had to endure so much hardship before arriving at that realization. Most sheople have been programmed to accept only the red one or the blue one, but the reality is that we won't get out of this mess with either one. I'm glad that you're finally done with those fools. Congratulations!
Thanks, for your efforts.
You never know maybe you changed some minds.

Thanks for posting this...
I wish I had some wisdom to impart, paul4won, but I DO wish to say that you have been courageous to try to change the Republican party from the inside. I've heard a similar story once from someone in Missouri. I would be curious to hear from others whether this approach is really worthwhile or not. Here in Maryland (and especially Baltimore) the Republican party is so moribund that mostly very elderly people are on the City's central committee...and several councilmanic districts have nobody on the committee at all. Our local C4L is thinking that we have a real chance to make an impact here. Or do we? Stories like yours make me wonder if this is an exercise in futility.

Good Work
Not everything happens right away. It is the contest and the willingness to engage that matters. That has an effect on others that you may never know. So keep up the good work and the fight. The final victory is preceded by a thousand defeats.
