another ron paul hit piece

i found this today.

American Right to Life Action (a 527 group) basically claims that dr. paul loves killing unborn babies http://prolifeprofiles.com/paul
the reasoning behind this is the fact that he considers the issue of abortion to be outside of the scope of the concerns of the federal government. i don't really care what this group says except that it may have an influence over the electorate. the RTL report is cited in this press release http://www.earnedmedia.org/artl0111.htm

for a supposed baby killer, dr. paul sure missed a lot of opportunities while practicing as an obstetrician to (in RTL's own words) dismember children in the womb.

This was posted last week too, and

I did some Googling about this ARTL organization.
It seems that it is a front organization for the Huckabee campaign.
They were closely connected during the 2008 election cycle, and apparently they still are.

This ARTL group has begun attacking all the perceived 2012 "presidential candidates" that might potentially be up against Huckabee.
So far, they've hit Romney, Palin and RP. There will be others, but I'm sure that Huckabee will not be one of the ones attacked.

It appears that this is an early start for the Huckabee campaign, being waged by a group that ostensibly is autonomous, but has connections under the surface to Huckabee.

ARTL is NOT a front organization for Huckabee

ARTL's founding president, Brian Rohrbough, was nominated by America's Independent Party as Ambassador Alan Keyes' vice presidential running mate. Does that sound like a front group for Huckabee?

Get your facts straight and stop spreading lies.

I think the site brings up some valid points

I'm hoping Ron Paul will take a serious look at the claims on this site. For one, if abortion is murder (and I believe it is), then do states really have the right to legalize murder? Does the federal government really have no business protecting their people from a state that wants to murder them? Just look at it this way. If slavery was legal, and Ron Paul said that it wasn't a federal issue, but should be decided by the states, would you support that? I can't say that I do anymore. The only right way to be against slavery is to assert the personhood of the blacks and the same goes for unborn babies.

Are these the same people

as Right to Life? You know, the one we think of when we think the "Right to Life group".

Defend Liberty!

No,

the other group that is more widely known is the "National Right to Life" organization, and they have even attempted to challenge this "American Right to Life" organization's use of the term in their name, because it causes confusion between the two unrelated organizations.

So, they are distinct and different organizations, and the ARTL has connections to the Huckabee campaign which appear rather suspicious.

And You Can Bet

that 99% if not all in that group are pro intervention war ... pre-emptive etc....
I remember spinning my wheels with Focus on the Family and a couple of other pro family issue organizations -
and they wouldn't give RP the time of day - because of his going by the constitution (that individual states should decide) they all decided to write him off ... these folks would rather have the government make these calls and we saw how well that panned out with Bush - I tried to convince them that without having someone to uphold the constitution we will not even be able to someday freely voice our concerns.... falls on deaf ears.

If you want the federal

If you want the federal government to pass laws for or against abortion, then Ron Paul isn't your man.

Ditto for a lot of things that people want the federal government to do.

The key is getting people to distinguish a good idea and the role of the federal government.

fringe nuts.

fringe nuts.

“We have allowed our nation to be over taxed and over regulated and overrun by bureaucrats, the founders would be ashamed of us for what we're putting up with.” Ron Paul

Hey, don’t sully our good

Hey, don’t sully our good name! LOL

"Ron Paul's Libertarian

"Ron Paul's Libertarian Party"

That says it all.

This is nothing but libel..

Please tell me he is not going to be writing for the New York Times.

Is this not slander

?

Slander laws do not apply to

Slander laws do not apply to people in the public eye, especially politicians. All case law supports this as slander suits would severely disrupt free speech and discussion of public figures. I'm afraid that it just goes with the territory.

Pro-Lifers Attack Ron Paul
Posted by Lew Rockwell on January 11, 2010 12:39 PM

A part of the official “pro-life” movement–which cares nothing about the huge number of Muslim still births and deformed babies thanks to US depleted uranium weapons–is now going after Ron Paul because he does not support a Federal Anti-Abortion Administration (and because the RP Revolution threatens the establishment). Ron, an OB-GYN, has been a pro-life activist since medical school. He has counseled many young women out of abortions, and delivered their babies for free. He even wrote a book against abortion. Of course, he is opposed to a constitutional amendment. Who can doubt how such a new, centralizing power would be used by the feds? Instead, as a constitutionalist, he wants Roe v. Wade overturned, and the matter returned to the states. Pro-life efforts would then be local, and not part of the murderous regime in DC. All you need to know about the official pro-lifers, however, is that they nave never supported Ron’s bill to remove the issue from the jurisdiction of the federal courts, including the Supreme Court, as the constitution allows. Reagan or Bush could have overturned Roe with just a majority vote of the Congress, but like Democrats, Republicans are wedded to federal supremacy in all things. And like the Democrats, the issue is too good a rallying and money-raising issue.

Ron Paul is My President

Totally irrelevant site

They even say Palin, George W. Bush, and McCain are pro-choice too. Even James Dobson is a heretic. Basically the only candidate they could support is God himself.

Possibly...

I think God, in thier opinion, would be stuck down too.

Between the Flood, the Abraham issue and the ~my kid on a cross~ thing...

I agree with you... irrelevant site, irrelevant people.
