TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- The Legislature on Monday approved a bill that would allow chronically ill patients access to marijuana for medical reasons.
Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine supports the legislation and could sign it before leaving office next week, which would make New Jersey the 14th state to allow medicinal marijuana use

I did find this funny:
"I don't think we should make criminals out of our very sick and terminally ill," he said.

...but it's ok to make criminals out of the ones that are occasionally sick -- say, on Friday or Saturday night.

Bump

For something positive in these crazy times.

Don't worry

NJ will only regulate, tax and license the crap out of any enterprise offering medical marijuana.

Did anyone read the text of the bill? I'll bet they limited "dispensing privileges" to health care providers.

This is a really cool trend

I want to open a dispensary and help people. Anyone here in Rhode Island or NJ that needs a caregiver? Or would at least be willing to make me their caregiver if I move forward on the idea? I figure it's better to start out with some people than just open and wait (although I can pretty much bet the wait won't be long haha).

Yes, been plotting since I lived in CA

I want to open one of the first in NJ. In CA they still bust them and give the owners a really hard time, but I've seen the balance sheets. It's well worth the drawbacks. The doctors are the ones who really clean up selling hallpasses.

I have an investor who's raring to go

What I REALLY want to do is provide the products for one. I could grow all kinds of herbs (in addition to the main one) and as soon as I finish this master herbalist class, I can really help people. I'm seeing a massage area, a place for support groups to meet, a cookie/candy shop, a big ole shelf of KB and an awesome healthy foods cafe next door. What a great place to come and feel good.

States' Power -

Good!

Finally, NJ gets something right

I am from NJ, which is about as communist as you get (sans Mass.)

If you fart too loudly, it is against the law.

NJ even has a tax they charge if you sell your house and are moving out of state.

Funny!

I love how you always say "Cheers". Makes me feel kinda cheerful!
